We went to Hilton Rose Hall in Jamaica on our last cruise and had a good time. However, we passed the Iberostar and it piqued my interest. It is listed on Traveladvisor as one of the top 25 all inclusives in the world. They do day all inclusive pricing as well. Does anyone recommend one over the other? We are heading out May 3 on the Magic and will have 5 year old twins with us, if that sways the decision one way or the other.

Thanks in advance!

I've never stayed at Hilton Rose Hall. However, there are 3 Iberostar properties in Jamaica: Rose Hall Grand, Beach & Suites and they line the same stretch of beach. I've stayed at the Grand (adults only...) 3 times and LOVED it! I did take a walk to the other two properties, enjoyed a pleasant family-friendly variety show and had a (noisy) seaside massage at the Suites. I personally don't know other specifics on the two family-friendly properties other than: the staff at Iberostar properties are wonderful and genuinely friendly and the beach is gorgeous! Have a great cruise!

Considering Hilton as well, but isn't it a far hike from Falmouth? How would you handle the transportation and do you worry about straying that far from port in Jamaica?

We took a taxi to the Hilton and it was about a 30 minute drive. The first cab driver that we got did not want to take us but the ladies who organize that at the port found us one. It is 50 bucks each way. That is the standard fare if you look it up on line so we knew that going in. We tipped him an exta $20 when he dropped us off and asked him to come back and get us at a certain time. He was there waiting on us. He gave me his card and asked us to call him if we needed him in the future. He was a very tame cab driver unlike some of the others we have had experiences with. I felt very safe. The web address on the card is www.southroadtour.com and his email is stebahbell@yahoo.com. I plan on setting up our travel through him again. The Iberostar is about 10 minutes closer to the port, from what I remember and can gather online.

i can't remember what we paid at the Hilton but it was very reasonable for all that you got. Everyone was super nice. I called the Iberostar and they report that it is $75 per adult or $95 if you want to rent a suite for the day.

We only stay at Iberostar resorts when we do AI holidays!! They are amazing! We won't stay anywhere else

we did hilton rose hall on our october cruise last year. we booked a day room with all inclusive which was $135 for two (first two children were free but we have no small children). it was a bargain! i have been told that they don't do day rooms anymore but you may want to check that out. as to distance, it was about 25 minutes, could have been 30 as socaintexas thought, but it was an interesting drive as our taxi driver was always giving us bits of information and answering questions we had. after tip ours was $70 as well. he was there to pick us up at the time we had agreed upon. our all aboard was 4:30 and i had him pick us up at 3 so we could check out the shops at the port. we had plenty of time and by 3 we were pretty much done with all we wanted from the hilton so never felt rushed.
