IASW - where does it fit in to my MM FL plan??

Ok, my written in stone, tried and true plan for doing FL during MM has now been shot all to HE**, with the opening of IASW! ;) It was down for refurb when we were there last year, so I am now at a complete loss as to where it should fit in to my "tried and true" order.
1)PP (my absolute favorite ride ever!)
2)Dumbo
3)Toad
4)Snow White
5)Pinocchio
6)Canal Boats (one of my kids' favorites)
7)Alice
8)Teacups

So where would IASW fit in? Is this still a "valid" order? I feel so out of touch.... So many things will be different this year - IASW, CA refurbs, new parade....makes me a little nostalgic

I'm not sure where the best place is to fit in IASW but I think bumping Snow White and Pinocchio to the end of your list would work good. My experience is that those rides never have a line so it seems like they would be good to do later when the other rides get busy. Maybe IASW would be good to do after your first couple of rides since it might be more crowded for awhile with the new characters added? I guess I would do all the rides you listed plus IASW before doing Snow White and Pinocchio. Not sure if that helps at all but those are my thoughts.

Ohh....OP...I love your question! I have my MM order of events all typed up and printed out too...but I just realized that it doesn't include IASW !! (GASP!)
It was also down on our last trip, so I didn't even THINK about it! GOODNESS!!

So, is IASM definitely open during MM?? For some reason I didn't think I ever read that it was...so maybe that's why I didn't think to add it to my MM itinerary? :confused3

Experts out there??
Thoughts/opinions?

TIA!! :flower3:

Storybook Land Canal Boats isn't open during MM. ;)

IASW used to not be open during MM, but has that changed since the latest refurb?

Honestly, IASW has a pretty fast moving line all day long except during Christmas time. I wouldn't spend valuable morning madness time doing something that you can do later in the day with a short wait.

It's not part of MM at the moment or at least when I went. I was in the park Feb 8-11 and they made everyone wait until park opening.

SK has a good point.

When we went in December, we realized too late that IASW was open for MM! And when we got back and posted here, countless people said that it quite often is open for MM.

Thanks everyone! I have never actually seen IASW, or really know what it's about, so I wasn't sure if it was a fast or slow loader. Sounds like it won't be too bad anytime - perhaps one of those rides you just check the line and hop in when it's short. I also wasn't sure if it was open for MM or not - technically it is a FL ride, according to the groupings on the map, but I didn't know if that meant it was included for MM or not.

Thanks again everyone!!

1)PP (my absolute favorite ride ever!)
2)Dumbo
3)Toad
4)Snow White
5)Pinocchio
6)Canal Boats (one of my kids' favorites)
7)Alice
8)Teacups

Is this still a "valid" order?

FWIW, I think the following order is better: :goodvibes

1)PP (my absolute favorite ride ever!)
2)Dumbo
3)Alice
4)Toad
5)Teacups
6)Snow White
7)Pinocchio

Alice is slightly more popular than Mr. Toad. And I agree with LavenderPeach, Snow White and Pinocchio aren't as popular.

Dumbo :dumbo: and Alice :ccat: are almost tied, and Toad :car: and Teacups:flower1: are almost tied. (If you were going to ride the Matterhorn, then the Matterhorn would be listed before Toad and the Teacups.) :goodvibes

FWIW, the Castle Walkthrough is also open during MM. :wizard:

I also wasn't sure if [IASW] was open for MM or not - technically it is a FL ride, according to the groupings on the map, but I didn't know if that meant it was included for MM or not.

The following is from DLR29's Magic Morning Super Thread::wizard:

What attractions are open for MM?

Well the rides open are technically "subject to change", but here is a list of rides that can be open during this hour.

In Fantasyland:
-Peter Pan's Flight
-Dumbo
-Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
-Alice in Wonderland
-Mad Tea Party
-Matterhorn Bobsleds
-King Arthur Carrousel
-Snow White's Scary Adventures
-Pinocchio's Daring Journey
-Sleeping Beauty's Castle Walkthrough
-It's a Small World (Holiday)

NOTE: Casey Jr. Circus Train and Storybookland Canal Boats are NOT open for MM and open at official park opening.

In Tomorrowland:
-Space Mountain
-Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters
-Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
-Astro Orbitor*
-Star Tours*

*Not as consistently open as others. They might be open if large crowds warrant it.

We like doing this order:

Peter Pan
Dumbo
Alice
Toad
Buzz
Space Mountain

Or sometimes Finding Nemo first (usually if we have more then one MM day). We skip Snow White's Scary Adventures, and Pinocchio's Daring Journey. The lines never really get long, and I'd rather do one of those other rides twice! :) We skip the Teacups that early, want to hold down breakfast! lol

Never seen IASW open for MM though.

We wasted alot of time at MM waiting for Storybookland Canal Boats Which were not open till reg. opening!!

NOTE: Casey Jr. Circus Train and Storybookland Canal Boats are NOT open for MM and open at official park opening.

Duely noted. Canal Boats will be moved and scheduled anytime after 10, , and perhaps Snow White and Pinocchio can fall off the MM list completely, and be added to our "free time in FL" instead. Alice will be moved up in the list (it was down during our last trip, so I don't know how busy it usually is either!)
So how busy is the castle walkthrough? Should we put that into MM, or can we just do it sometime during one of our "free time" days? We are there over 2 weekends, and I thought we could do those type of things (shows, displays, etc...) when all the rides will be busy, but maybe since the walkthrough is new, it gets lines too?

Thanks for all the input!

valuable morning madness time

Ha! Love this! That's what I am calling it from now one since last time we did it, that is exactly what it was-- Morning Madness!

We followed the order of rides and still had horrible lines and nasty people.

Thanks for all of the replies to this thread...everyone's advice/experience/input is helping me plan my MM! We can't wait! :-)

Still some questions:

1) How busy is Sleeping Beauty's walkthrough during MM and/or regular park hours? Should that be a definite on our MM list, or can it wait till later?

2) Where would be the best place to be right at regular park opening hours (after we grab an Autopia FP, that is!):
--IASM (if it's NOT open to ride during our MM hour)
--Storybook Land Canal Boats
--Nemo
--Haunted Mansion
--Pirates

Our kids are almost 3 and just turned 5, so we don't need Space, Splash, Indy, etc (no big kid rides--the most they can handle is Matterhorn/Pirates/HM type stuff).

I'm basically wondering what our 1st "Non-MM open" ride priority should be when the park opens completely for everyone...

Anyone have any thoughts/advice/input--or think of a ride I should focus on that I've missed in the above list?

THANKS so much!!:flower3:

Nemo is open for MM so I'd save it for a non-MM day and go there right at rope drop. Or if your kids can do it - ride right before park closing.

Instead of walking from Peter Pan to Dumbo then Toad I would do the rides in a circle.

Peter Pan
Toad
Dumbo
Pinocchio
Snow White
Peter Pan or Toad or Dumbo again if you want
Tea Cups
Alice

You will the be next to the Bobsleds and Canal Boats. I would do Bobsleds next then send a runner to get Fastpasses for Small World then Canal Boats twice then do Casey Junior or head to Small World. The line will be short in the morning anyways.

I do not see why one would want to run around in circle instead of doing the rides quickly in a circle and saving energy. Also be open to hitting the shortest line as some people will also be storming Peter Pan.

I don't think Small World has FPs.

I think since all the FantasyLand rides are very close to each other (some are just steps from each other), it makes sense to do them in order of how quickly they start building a line. Which would suggest the preferred order to be (during MM):

- PP (always first).
- Dumbo (just a few steps from the PP exit....can be rode on the first or second cycle).
- Alice (a slow loader)
- Matterhorn (try both sides).

- Tea Cups or Toady.
- Toady or Teacups.

- Carousel/Pinocchio/Snow White (any order). Or save for later.

If time left.....head to Buzz/SM....or Nemo/Small World.....or prepare for Storybook/Casey Jones.

But imo, riding the first 4 (in order) is the key to a productive MM.

:)

I did not know they took out fast pass for Small World. I am disabled and like to conserve energy so that is why I rather do them in order. Plus the time used to bounce from ride to ride means time that allows for lines to grow.

I also would suggest
Peter Pan
Toad
Snow White
Pinocchio
Dumbo

then the rest of my list
How did I miss the carousel, lol.

Just a note to remember when in line for IASW...the line will split left and right. The left loading boats are also the boats for wheelchairs and handicap loading. The right loading boats do not load wheelchairs. Just something we noticed last week when we rode IASW. We had a group "line jump" us and race to the left side. Since our group was chatting, we ended up going right and actually loaded several boats ahead of the line jumpers even though the line was shorter. They had to wait for several wheel chairs to load. Karma.

kikiq--good tip about IASM loading lines! Thanks! :thumbsup2

So....what is the verdict on IASM? Is it open during MM or not? hmm....
