This is the site of the landslide from March 8. We just got a notice from AAA (because we are driving and they said they would update us) that one lane-each direction-is finally open, no wide loads allowed, from mile points 141 to 144. This has been a huge headache for travelers! Motorists are still advised of long delays, averages have been an additional 50 minutes to get through this area.

For additional information you can try going to WKYT-27's news site or AAA.

The US 27 detour route for I75 Southbound destinations south of Caryville, TN via Somerset, KY: take exit 62 in KY and follow US 25 to state route 461 to state route 80 to state route 914 to US 27 into Tennessee.

Hope this can help a fellow driver!!!

Thanks. I'll tell my daughter that. She'll be travelling that route at about 3 AM Saturday morning. Hoping there isn't too much of a backup then.

I thought they would get one lane open both ways by now. They would not allow a closed major interestate on a holiday weekend.

LadyBebop, I'm also in Northern Kentucky.

Small World!!! Yes, pun intended ;)

:thumbsup2
