I would like to take a moment to welcome back an important part of my life.

Ah no not unless I can get tickets to see the HABS play.

Charles, just who are these HABS you keep talking about??? :rotfl2: Everyone knows there's really only ONE Canadian team ... Toronto Maple Leafs all the way, baby !

You really need to trade-in that Montreal shirt for a nice blue one! :duck:

They have had a WHOLE year to rest, this is going to be their year!!! (or maybe next year...or the next or....well eventually they gotta win another cup!!!) :rotfl:

It’s back! We’re happy to let you know the National Hockey League and the NHL Players’ Association today reached an agreement that will return hockey--and CBC’s Hockey Night In Canada--to CBC airwaves this fall.

This is excellent news for CBC Sports, CBC Television and Canadian hockey fans. As Canada’s national public broadcaster, we take pride in bringing Canada’s game to fans across the country. And come October, we can once again do one of the things we do best--hockey.

We are also happy that many of our long-term sponsors and advertisers are back with CBC's Hockey Night in Canada and we look forward to working with them on some exciting integrated marketing partnerships this season.

The NHL lockout was hard for CBC, and for many of our employees. We’d like to thank everyone, particularly in CBC Sports, for their help, patience and understanding as we worked our way through a difficult situation.

Here’s to a great season - game on!

Woo hoo game on the draft lottery is complete and the free agent fire sales will be plenty this coming week it should be a great season.

hmmmmmmmm... this thread as what seems to be 2 CBC internal emails and or press releases in here... Can I take a guess where someone works???

Go Grapes! I voted for him for Greatest Canadian! and then I voted for Terry Fox...

Looks like Forsburg and the Avs are set to part ways rumour has it the Fergy Jr is shopping for him if he can get rid of Nolan and his contract. Also looks like Scott N is done with the Devils and would like to go to the Canucks but I think he would do well with the HABS.

I can't wait for Hockety to start again so that I can make fun of all the Leaf Fans. The Leafs are going to have only Sundin and Belfour when the season starts because the rest of the team is toooooo old and they don't want to waste their payroll on old guys!!!!!! :rotfl2:

GO SENS GO!!! :teeth:

The Ontario Rivalry begins AGAIN!! :cool1:

I know the Flyers booted Leclair and Amonte...

Welcome in the new blood!

The draft is Thursday right?

When does the trading open up :confused3...is that the 15th?

Help me out Charles, you know tons more than I ever will.

Yes the Flyers opted for buyouts on LeClair and Amonte and the draft goes Sat and the free agent signings will start Monday teams have this week to either resign players or buyout contract or try to trade them IIRC on the trade portion as I know Buffalo is trying to trade Satan currently.

Forgot to mention that the Ducks are shopping thier second overall pick for a good trade or a different draft position and cash. The Leafs and Sens are apparently going to open the season with a home and home starting at the ACC on Oct 5th.

Really?!

There's gonna be alotta big names flying around on the trading blocks...

Forsberg, Satan, Niedermeyer, Amonte, Leclair...

Anybody think JR will still be a Flyer when the season starts?

-I think they'll keep him-for a while anyway.

Yep the fre agent signings should be interesting Illich is sitting down with Stevie Y to go over what needs to be done to keep him in Detroit. JR will stick around in Philly for awhile.

yeah, yeah - hockey's back, yadda, yadda, yadda...

Anybody else besides me want to call the WAAAAHHHHHMMMBULANCE on Jagr? :sad2:

Ya hopefully Jagr stays in Russia to play especially when the NHL is rebuilding they don't need players like him coming back and causing trouble. Once he sees how well things are going back in the NHL he will want to return and hopefully no one will sign him.
