I did a Hotwire search for hotels and I found a $59 hotel that I kinf of suspect is the Royal Pacific Resort. I've never seen it go that low. What do you think?

The hotel is:
4 stars
Has a resort symbol
Has amenities: restaurant, pool, fitness center, kitchenette, tennis, spa, children's activities

The search was in the Universal/Sea World area. I've never known the RPR to have a kitchenette, but it could end up being another resort in the area.

So what hotel do you suspect this is?

Hmm,

a 4* resort with a kitchenette is definitely a mystery, and yes, it seems too low a price for RPR. Have to think about this one.

herc.

I don't think it's Royal Pacific. We were there in July and I'm pretty sure there are no rooms with kitchenettes. I also don't recall seeing any tennis courts, but I could be mistaken on that one.

Hotwire tends to rate its hotels higher than Priceline. I checked some successful bids with Hotwire that were posted on biddingfortravel.com. Hyatts and Embassy Suites in other cities are rated four stars.

The web site said Priceline beats Hotwire most of the time. My guess it is for a hotel the equivilent of a Hilton, Wyndham or Sheraton. Rooms at these hotels can go for about $32/night on Priceline.

Someone did win the Portofino on Hotwire for $136/night back in June. It was rated a 5*.

Stolen from the Hotwire hotel listings (Florida) at BetterBidding.com :

Orlando (Universal Orlando)

4.5* Peabody Orlando
Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business, Golf, Tennis

4* Westgate Lakes (believed accurate)
Amenities: Resort, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Kitchenette, Tennis, Spa, Childrens Activities, Laundry

3* Clarion Hotel
Amenities: Restaurant, Pool

3* Wyndham
Amenities: <none supplied>

Based upon that the resort you describe is probably Westgate Lakes.

Royal Pacific would have these amenities :

Royal Pacific Resort - 4 Stars - Resort, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Business Center, Golf Course Nearby, Tennis Court Nearby, Children's Activities

Thanks Scott for posting that.

I vaguely remember a thread somewhere discussing this. It turned out to be the Westgate Resort/timeshare, hence the kitchenette mystery.
