Day 3, Part 7: MNSSHP Part 1: The Most Awesome Epic Costume That Might Make Me Pass Out​

So let me preface this by saying I found the most ridiculous costume for this year’s party. When I say ridiculous, I mean it, it was nuts. I had a feeling it would get a lot of attention, and I was right. So many people commented and asked for pictures with me, it was wild!

So I wasn’t surprised when on the walk over to the MK I got tons of comments and a lot of people staring, and even more people making puns about it.

A bit after 6 we headed out to walk over to MK for the Halloween party! We made it into the MK around 6:20, and by that time there was no line for the party entrance so we were in quickly and got our wrist bands and headed to the bypass to get our maps, treat bags, and first treats.

BUT, I’m sure you’re all wondering, what was this costume I was wearing.

Well….I was a house. Literally. I was the house from Up!





And yes, it was painfully hot in this costume. I don’t think I’ve ever sweated so much!

We grabbed our treat bags at the bypass, took some pictures, and then headed back out to Main Street to get some photopass pictures!















After wrapping up with our pictures, it was about 6:45, so we decided to head to Frontierland to get the party started.



When we arrived, we saw the Country Bears were out entertaining, so stopped to watch. At one point Wendell noticed my costume and got SO excited and came charging over to me to get a closer look! We ended up having a hilarious interaction!





Right at 7 the Cadaver Dans came out, so we watched them for a bit.



After watching the Cadaver Dans for a bit we decided to head over to ride HM, we love starting the party here!

Wow, 5 posts in one weekend!?!? I’m flying through this TR!

Actually, I’m trying really hard to post as much as possible, it occurred to me that for the next year+ we have a trip like every 12-14 weeks, and since I have zero desire to try to keep more than 2 trip reports going at a time, I’m trying to move through this as quickly as possible! (also, yay only 11 weeks until FArts!!!) So HOPEFULLY I will break my usual tradition of taking a year to finish a TR and get this one done in a reasonable time!

Day 3, Part 8: MNSSHP Part 2!​

We last left off with us heading over to the HM! Before making our way over there we stopped for a few more photos with the Country Bears who were still out entertaining!





After getting a few more pictures, we made our way to HM. We got in line and just missed getting into the building, but were first to enter next, so we hung out along the side to wait. This ended up being a good thing though since while waiting, Madame Carlotta came out!



She is so funny, I’m so happy we caught her! It was funny, when the doors opened, no one wanted to go in, we all wanted to stay out to listen to her!

Also, why does she do her shtick only in the queue now? I liked it before when she was out in the front lawn area so you could see her without getting into the queue!

The ride was awesome as always!



After the ride we decided to get into line for the picture there.





Once we wrapped up with the pictures, it was about 7:45, so I wanted to head over to the other side of the park so we wouldn’t get stuck behind the parade when we had to be in Tomorrowland for our reservation.

We did make a detour to stop at the treat trail at CHH, which may have been a mistake since it was a super long line and took like 10 minutes to get through. Oh well!

We then made our way towards the hub. On the way we saw there was no line for the Headless Horseman picture, so we stopped, but quickly discovered they were having technical difficulties, so we moved on.

Once in the hub, we got the photopass picture where you step into the frame!



We then headed to the Monsters Inc treat trail where we got a TON of candy!

At that point it was 8:13, so we decided to head over to the dessert party to check-in, we wanted to get there early so we would have our pick of table.

Just as we were pulling into the dock, Tiana’s finally opened! So we decided to head that way to finally ride it.

There was hardly any wait in the LL, so soon we were on!

I like the Tiana ride, but I think they could have done a lot more with it then they did. Some of the scenes are rather simple.

Oh, and little note on the LLMP. So we used it a few days this trip, and found for the most part it wasn’t worth it for us, even in the MK. I’m super surprised, I had thought I would prefer having the prebooked rides from the old FP+ days, but it turns out I actually liked the Genie+ set-up better (well except for the 7am booking).

We've only used it one time and that was at MK. It worked out well because the morning started off with almost all the rides down. But most of the time it isn't necessary.

We found some lounge chairs to set our stuff down, and quickly headed into the pool.

It was so nice to cool off a bit. The pool there was ok, but doesn’t come close to our #1, Stormalong Bay.

The pool at the Contemporary is not very exciting.

Well….I was a house. Literally. I was the house from Up!

That is an amazing costume. It also looks very uncomfortable. I once made a costume that looked like a bag of M&M's. It was uncomfortable, too.

This ended up being a good thing though since while waiting, Madame Carlotta came out!

I've always wanted to see her. They must have put her in the line to keep the crowds moving.

What a fun trip! I didn't know about the silhouette artist. I will check that out next time I'm in Magic Kingdom.

It was such a fun trip! Those silhouette artists are so good, I'm so happy we finally stopped to get one done, definitely recommend!

We had the older gentleman (his name’s escaping me, sorry) do our silhouettes last year and he was incredible. I didn’t even know that existed despite it being my tenth or twelfth time at Magic Kingdom!

Same! I was so disappointed last year - we'd planned out time to just hang out there by HM and listen to her and Broome but they weren't there. Such a bummer!

I agree with you about LLMP. We were there last week at the Poly and didn’t get much use out of it. But we were fortunate to be there for the debut of Premier Pass. I bought it for HS day and it was fantastic! I loved it so much. I understand why people are salty about the price but it was so worth it to me.
I have DAS, I know your mom does too, and that helps a lot but it just puts you on even field with stand by. It was great to just make our way around the park and ride everything as we came to it with no fussing with return times.
And your costume is epic! I love the balloon headband!

That costume looks HOT! But it is super cute and unusual. And it looks like you and your mom are having a great time at the party so far. I love the Halloween party. But now that I am on the academic schedule, I don't know how I will get down for another one.

Yeah, I get that, and I also wish they didn't have so many empty spaces. Oh well, we'll still ride it, just not over and over like we used to!

Thanks! Yeah, it was super hot in that thing, it was this thick foam so the heat was just trapped in. I'm amazed I lasted as long as I did with it on that night!

Oh I can see that, but now she's making the line stop moving! It's too bad they don't have more space for her in front of the ride, I would love to just go watch her for a while, she's so funny!

Yeah, I'm really surprised that I ended up liking Genie+ more than LLMP! I do think that we'll probably use LLPP at some point, just the freedom of getting on rides when convenient to us would be so nice, maybe on some of our shorter trips we'll try it out. It's expensive, but if we shorten the trip a day that'll easily cover the cost.

Oh yeah, it was an oven in that thing, but I loved it so much. Especially seeing the character and CMs reactions, some of them made the most hilarious jokes about it. I'm sorry you can't get down for a Halloween party, do you have any long weekends in the fall you can make a quick trip for?

Day 3, Part 9: MNSSHP Part 3! - Dessert Party!​

We last left off heading to the Dessert Party check-in!

When we arrived, there were already three groups ahead of us (and we were there 45 minutes before the posted check-in time!) I miss the days of showing up 20 minutes early and being first in line, each year people arrive earlier and earlier.

We got in line and settled in to wait. Within about 5 minutes a long line formed behind us.

They let us in much earlier than the posted time, around 8:25, and since we were the first party of two to enter, we had our pick of tables!

I wanted to grab the one in the corner we usually get, but I noticed a table that was two tables down from that one that was spaced much further from the surrounding tables, so I figured the view would almost be identical to our normal table, but it would be more comfortable not being on top of the surrounding tables, so grabbed that one instead.



Once we had our table selected, we headed up to get desserts.





I also got a red wine and some POG juice. I am seriously obsessed with POG juice, I wish I could find it in stores around here!

Mom got a blue moon to enjoy with her desserts.

While there I took off my costume to get a break from the heat. I loved that costume so much, but I was getting so overheated with it on, so it was a very nice break taking it off for a bit!

The fireworks started right at 10, and I swear they shortened them. I thought they used to be closer to 15-16 minutes long, but this evening they were only 12 minutes long. Maybe I’m thinking of Hallowishes? I dunno, they just felt super short this evening.

I didn’t take a video or pictures this time around since I have pictures and videos from past years and I really just wanted to enjoy the show.

After the show we hung around a few minutes to let the crowds dissipate before heading out again.

This time we made our way back to the headless horseman photo and this time it was working!





I like that this is a two picture stop, one with the horseman and one with the hitchhiking ghosts!

Since there was another photopass right at the exit from the hitchhiking ghosts shot, we decided to get in line for that one as well!





This picture is hilarious, it looks like we're singing, not sure what the CM told us to do but I'm pretty sure this isn't it!
