I Wonder if Disney Will Get Mad if We Disassemble the Furniture. Sept/Oct 2024 TR! (Updated 4/18!)

The bed thing is hysterical! Is there any practical engineering reason that the beds would be connected? And the weird cracking ice thing...maybe you guys had a haunted room :rotfl2:
The only thing I can think of is they wanted to save some money by not having legs for the nightstand. It really is such an odd design choice! And haha, maybe the room was haunted! We never could figure out what was making that noise, so perhaps it was a ghost!

We're planning on trying Y&Y for the first time on our December trip. We got the ADR, then a few weeks later I was thinking about swapping our HS and AK days....no dice! I had no idea that Y&Y would be our toughest ADR this trip 🤣
Not to derail from the updates since, but I 100% recommend getting a Landry’s card. $25 and it’s good forever, and Y&Y, T-Rex, Rainforest Cafe all basically become walk-ups.

I go to check-in. Say I don’t have an ADR but I’m a Landry’s member. They text that my Y&Y table is ready in no time flat.

I’m not actually sure how many ADR slots Y&Y provides to the Disney system just because it is Landry’s and they’ve got their own reservation system as well as the priority walkups.

I would be alarmed by the old blood spots, yikes, 😱
We recently stayed at BWI, beginning of September and our room was very clean.
I would ask for new sheets!

We just checked into the Polynesian tonight. First thing I did was check for blood stains eww and lol ..luckily everything was very clean.

Yeah, that was really gross. It never occurred to us to check the sheets before getting into them, but we will from now on! We did get new sheets though, and thankfully the new ones had no stains!

Have a great trip!!! The blood stains on the sheets was crazy, we never thought to check the sheets before, but now we will!

Day 3, Part 2: Now to Start the Day!

Ok, now that I’ve gotten the bed debacle out of my system, it’s time to start the day!

We got up at 6 this morning, which normally would be rough on vacation, but since I was already up, well, it was still rough. :rotfl:

I went to take a shower, and at 6:30 my mom ran over to the lounge to grab us some coffee. (thanks mom!)

At 7 we headed over to the lounge to get breakfast!

Since we were the first ones there I took pictures of all the food offerings.

This morning I got the eggs, crepes, bacon, some cheesy potato kegs, this cheesy potato hash, some fruit, POG juice, a POGmosa, and of course more coffee.

The crepes were amazing, I’m sad they didn’t have them every morning! Everything was actually fantastic, my mom was obsessed with the cheesy potato hash, which fortunately for her they had most mornings.

After breakfast we headed back to the room to finish getting ready before heading out around 7:30.

We walked over to the MK this morning, and by the time we got there the lines at the tapstiles were super long again, but once again there was no line at the AP one, so we headed over there and were in the park in no time!

Next up: Time for a Photoshoot!

I think you’re selling me on club level, because that kind of breakfast selection accessible on-demand without needing a morning ADR / rushing through it / worrying about making rope drop on time just seems like the superior way to do it!

Those options look great, and POG juice to boot!

Oh yeah, it was super nice. Breakfast was by far our favorite meal at club level. It was so convenient to pop over to the lounge in the morning for a great breakfast before heading out for the day. It was hard moving to the YC later in the trip where we weren't staying club, we really missed those breakfasts!

I love breakfast -- if someone else cooks it for me. I will never make it myself. This looks like a delightful way to start the day. You should work with Disney to get referral fees for all those you're selling on club level!!!!

Haha, I would honestly just accept a discount on club rooms from Disney for selling club level, and more than the lame 10% they've been doing lately! Those breakfasts at club level are so good, it's really nice having a hot breakfast waiting for you every morning.

Quick RL update! So as many know, booking for Nov/Dec 2025 FINALLY opened today! We've been waiting for what feels like forever for this!

The timing actually worked out really well in a way. Originally we had planned on staying at the YC for the whole trip, but on Monday I had the thought that it may be nice to do part of the stay at club level since our goal is to try them all out. I also realized this trip would be great to try out another MK resorts club level so we can have quick transportation home after MVMCP. I presented this idea to my mom, who surprisingly thought it was a good idea!

I put together some preliminary schedules to see what worked best, originally I had staying club at the end of trip, but my mom didn't like that since she wanted full days at club level to take advantage of the lounge and we'd have to check out early the last day for our flight. So I shifted it to the start of the trip, but once again my mom didn't want to start there since again we wouldn't get a full day that first day. (I feel like some of you can guess where this is going)

So we decided that we'd start the club level stay the second day before moving to the YC later in the week. But of course this means one thing. Once again we are doing a triple split stay! :rotfl2: Seriously, we need help.

We're going to do our first night at the Swalphin to save some money before moving over to the Grand Floridian for our club stay! Then later in the week we'll move over to our home, the Yacht Club.

I am so excited, and can't believe my mom agreed to this!
Catching back up - how exciting!!! Grand Flo Club Level is my bucket list...which we're gonna do in just about 3 weeks. :D I'm so excited! I hope you guys have a great time!!
The show started right at 8:30, and it was amazing being able to watch from our balcony! I only took a few pictures since I wanted to really just enjoy the show, and my wine.
Theme Park View at the Contemporary is amazing, just for that view. It's so nice!
I did take this one with my mom in the foreground to really show the view. I feel like so many pictures of the fireworks from these rooms are zoomed in a lot (including all the ones I just posted ::yes:: ), so I like the perspective this picture gives.
oh nice! Did you guys find that the railing was like right in your line of sight? We did, and moved some pillows out to the chairs to make us just a little bit taller, but wasn't sure if that was us or the floor we were on or what
So basically all night long, whenever I moved, it would make my mom’s bed shake, so she would get disturbed and roll over which would make my bed shake. We ended up doing this to each other all night long not realizing we were interrupting each other’s sleep! HA!!!!! :rotfl2:
1. i'm sorry but 2. that's HILARIOUS. We didn't notice when we stayed 'cause we just used the one bed, but wow, what an epically bad design choice!

Yikes!! That's a lot wrong with that room actually. I've never had the Contemporary on my bucket list but now I know I don't want to stay there. Those beds being connected would drive me crazy (and anyone who was with me because I do NOT lay still ever while sleeping.) And the noise would drive me insane.

As for the planning for your next trip - GF club level???!!! That is so exciting (even if it does mean another triple split stay.)

Yumm...scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheesy hashbrown casserole. Now I want breakfast! And I have to go teach a class.

Oh no way, that's awesome! Hope you have an amazing trip! We are so excited to try out CL at the GF, especially to be there when all the holiday decorations are up. Definitely have goals of checking out the lobby in the super early AM to get pictures without all the crowds!

Yeah, that view was amazing. We loved it!

YES! It was at such an awkward height to see over, they should have made it glass instead of that big old steel tube!

Oh yeah, we laughed about it afterwards, but it really was such a stupid design choice. I have no idea what they were thinking!

The bacon and eggs look really good. That is my kind of breakfast. :)
It was so good, loved having a hot breakfast every morning! Although the cheesy egg bites they had the first day were our favorite egg dish, I wish they had that more than just one morning!

Haha, yeah the beds were so annoying. I really don't understand how no one at Disney realized that connected the beds together could be a problem! I would still stay there again though, we loved the lounge, the view, and of course the super short commute to the MK. We just wouldn't do a long stay there since I do prefer to sleep at least a little bit on vacation! :rotfl:

I am so excited for this, we've been talking about staying club at the GF for a while, but it's always been just too expensive to justify. But since we ended up saving over $2k with our bounce back offers we figured we might as well splurge for this trip!

Haha, seriously. Breakfast food is some of the best, I could really go for some bacon right now myself!
