I Wonder if Disney Will Get Mad if We Disassemble the Furniture. Sept/Oct 2024 TR! (Updated 4/18!)

That's such a great photo - so unique! And it does look like SO much fun.
Thanks! When we first saw that photo we burst out laughing, it almost looks like we're in pain! In reality we were just laughing so hard. I also love you can actually see the rain in that shot!
Your mom is awesome - I do that all the time! I have like the whole conversation in my head and then just say the last little bit aloud and my husband reacts the same way you do :D
Haha, yeah she does this a lot. I'd say maybe 60-70% of the time I can figure out what she's talking about, but then there are those times I'm so confused and cannot for the life of me figure it out! :rotfl2:

Florida has the most undependable weather forecasts! We also got caught at MK without umbrellas or ponchos when it wasn't supposed to rain.
It really does. Every day this trip my mom would ask if we should bring umbrellas or ponchos, and I'd tell her the chance of rain, but reminded her that no matter what the % chance was, it could very well still rain! We did get pretty lucky this trip and didn't get stuck out in the rain too much, although I wouldn't have minded getting stuck in it a few times to cool off!
You can see how wet you got in this picture. I can see why you wanted to go back to the resort to check out your room. :)
Yeah, we were pretty soaked. Thank goodness we got our room ready text pretty quickly, and it was such a short trip back to the hotel!

You guys look like you are having a blast on the ride in the rain. Way to make lemonade out of lemons!!!
We had so much fun on that ride! It was one of those super heavy rains where it is just coming down in buckets that we just had to laugh at how ridiculous it was. And when the people in front of us put the umbrella up while still on the ride we just lost it. It took like 15 minutes after the ride to stop laughing about it!

In for the rest of your adventures!
Thank you for joining in!
I didn’t get to make it to F&W this year myself, so I’m glad to see you enjoying it! At least this year I’ll get to enjoy Festival of the Holidays for the first time.
Sorry you're not making it to F&W this year, but Festival of the Holidays is so awesome! I hope you have an amazing time!

I've been wanting to get a silhouette of my dog for so long! It looks amazing. Definitely need to do that in the near future. Ugh on all that rain. Sometimes on a coaster it winds up feeling like needles. Glad you were able to find the humor in it!

The silhouettes are so cool, I want to do more! The artist offered to do one of both me and my dog, or really any animal. We were tempted to do one of me with a giraffe or a dolphin just for how random it would be! Maybe if the line is short we'll done one of those in an upcoming trip.

Yeah, the rain wasn't our favorite, but it did make some really fun memories! And at least we weren't on Everest in the rain, that one really hurts!

Day 2, Part 4: Our New Room!

We last left off heading out of the MK to check out our new room!

We opted to take the monorail back to get there quicker, we were tired and very wet at that point and really wanted to change!

Mom wanted to swing by Bell Services on the way to pick up our bags, but I somehow convinced her to head to the room first and call down for them once we were in. I’m not sure why I was so opposed to not picking up the bags ourselves, probably since I didn’t want to go from the 4th floor where the monorail dropped us off down to the first to get them, then back up to the 12th? I dunno, I was wet and lazy I guess!

When we got to the club level, the CM greeted us and we mentioned we just got our room ready text. She pointed us in the direction of our room and asked if we had bags, which we said we did, so she offered to call down to get them brought up, which was much appreciated!

We then headed to the room to check it out and take some pictures! (soooo many pictures)

Our luggage was delivered shortly after, and after taking a few minutes to unpack a few things and change into dry clothes we decided to swing by the lounge and pick up some food to hold us over. I got some of the cheese, a section of an uncrustable, and a bunch of the house made chips which I became obsessed with this trip! Also got a glass of lemonade.

Seriously, the house made chips here are so ridiculously good, and I usually am not a fan of chips!

Before heading back to the room, I did ask about the mosaic class again, and this time they gave me a number to call, which I did and got us signed up for the mosaic class! We also requested some wine to bring back to the room to enjoy while we rested.

After that we headed back to the room to shower and rest a bit, I’m pretty sure we both ended up napping for a while. Disney days are tiring. ::yes::

Room looks great. What a view! And I know I keep saying this, but club life is sounding awfully good to me!! And how cool the silhouette artist could do other animals -- you and a giraffe would be so cute!!

I agree with you about having the luggage delivered to the room instead of dragging it up yourself. The elevators at the Contemporary are too small and annoying. ;)

I love the bathroom but the color scheme of the rest of the room is very drab looking. The view makes up for it, though. :)

I can't wait to hear about the mosaics class. It sounds like something I make want to try. :)

The view was so great, we loved hanging out on the balcony just watching all the activity below. Club level is so nice, I wish we could do it every trip. The problem with club level is once you stay club, it's so hard going back to non-club! One of these trips I want to do a really fun silhouette like that. I also need to get one done of my cats at some point.

Yeah, and we found that there could be pretty long waits for the elevators at time too.

The views were so great, and having such a big bathroom was nice, but we didn't love the room itself. We'll be getting into that though in a future update!

We loved the mosaic class, it was so fun and a nice change of pace. Plus it's a really cool souvenir!

Day 2, Part 5: Bison Burger Here We Come!

We last left off resting in the room for a bit.

A bit before 4:00 we were getting hungry again, so we quickly got ready and headed out.

We made our way down to the boat dock to catch the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge! There were already people there waiting for the boat, so we assumed it would arrive shortly.

Well, we were wrong.

It took over 35 minutes for a boat to finally arrive! When the boat finally did show up, the people who were there ahead of us were very angry and told the CMs that they had waited over an hour for that boat! That is crazy! I wonder if the boat didn’t start running this day until 4 instead of 3 like posted?!? But even then, I don’t understand why the first boat wouldn’t arrive to the Contemporary until like 4:35. So yeah, I have no idea what took the boat so long, especially since there are two of them running, but for some reason it took a very long time this day.

Fortunately, the boat ride over to Wilderness Lodge is super quick.

We were the first off the boat and quickly made our way over to Geyser Point, and we are lucky we made it off first. We were given a 5 minute wait, but the groups that were on the boat with us that showed up a bit after us were quoted a 45 minute wait. I’m really surprised how busy it was that early, it was only about 4:45 at that point. I had tried joining the walk up list via the app on the boat ride over, as well as the entire walk from the boat to Geyser point, but even when we were right in front of the restaurant it was saying we were too far away to join the list! Gotta love Disney IT :rotfl2:

It didn’t take long before we were brought back to our table, we were over by the lake where we normally sit, it’s our favorite.

To start we ordered our drinks, mom got a sangria, and I got the margarita.

Then we needed time with the menu to decide what to eat. Well, at least I did. My mom already knew she wanted the bison burger (it’s sooooo good!), but I was debating between that or trying something new.

In the end I decided to try something new, I figured I’ve gotten the bison burger the last few times we’ve been there, I needed to change it up a bit. I ended up ordering the steak sandwich.

While waiting for the food to come out, a very friendly duck came to visit us. This duck was much better than the squirrel who visited in December and decided to hop up on my foot! No touching wild animals this time around!

Eventually the food came out and it was so good!

I do think the bison burger is a bit better than the steak sandwich, but they’re both really good and I would definitely get the steak sandwich again.

Dinner took a while, our waitress was awesome and swung by a lot to chat, so we didn’t end up wrapping up until about 6:30. We did have a good chat with the waitress about the best burgers on property. Apparently, they have an internal competition of best burger on property and the winner is always the bison burger. I’m not surprised, it really is that good, plus it’s so much more unique and not as boring as a lot of the other burgers around property (looking at you Steakhouse 71 burger!)

Anyways, once we paid we headed out and back to the boat dock and lucked out to arrive at the dock right when our boat did! Yay!

We were back at the Contemporary at 6:40, so a nice easy commute.

Next up: A Room with a View, A Fireworks View!

Glad the bison burger still rates highly. I really wish they'd bring back the waffle fries, though. Very curious, what are you & your Mom's thoughts or did your server mention any opinions on other finalists for the top burger? I'm always in search of a good 🍔. For me, I'd put the Ale & Compass burger up there, although it's pretty straightforward. RIP the Brown Derby burger of a few years ago (was lunch only).

Yeah, that burger is delicious! Our server did mention some others, the one that really stood out to me is the new burger at Tiffins. Apparently it's giving the bison burger a run for its money! Haven't tried it yet, but one of these days we plan to. Also, we also really enjoyed the burger at Ale and Compass, which we did get later this trip!

Oooh when I was trying to take the boat over there from MK back in December I had a similar experience- felt like it took forever! And then I couldn't join the list! It finally let me when I was basically there but the waitress said the wait was double the time it said on the app. I understood nothing about Geyser Point wait times or anything but I got a seat at the bar and that bison burger was indeed delish.

Your room is beautiful. Sigh, another resort to add to my bucket list that I know I can never afford. Same with club level. Oh well, the great thing about trip reports is getting to live vicariously through others!

I have never been to Geyser point but that Bison burger looks delicious. I don't know if I have time to squeeze it in in November but it's definitely going on the list for the future.

I was really glad to see the return of the resort boats, mostly for the WL/FW leg of the trip. I'm really surprised to see how long the wait was. At least the boat ride to WL is quick.

You were smart to get to the head of the line when you went to Geyser Point. We love that restaurant but usually for lunch. It is much too crowded at dinner time. :)

The Cascade sangria is my absolute favorite sangria at Disney. I love it. :)

That's interesting about the burger contest. My husband has ordered the bison burger many times, but I haven't tried it.

Yeah, I'm not sure what was going on with that boat. I'm not sure if the people who were there first were exaggerating about waiting an hour, but we waited 35 minutes and they had been there before we even got to the dock, so I wouldn't be surprised. I'm wondering if maybe they didn't start the boats until 4:30 that afternoon, it would make sense then the first boat arrived around 4:35, but who knows. I swear the app only works like 20% of the time to join a walk-up list, although we did find it pretty funny that even right in front of Geyser point it was saying we were too far away! :rotfl:

It was a nice room, and the view was spectacular, especially for the fireworks! This was definitely a splurge, but we got a discount on the room, and with the savings we got with the bounce backs we figured those basically paid for this upgrade!

It is so good, I highly recommend! We also just love the atmosphere of the place, it's so relaxing out there by the lake, we could spend hours there!
