I wonder how much business target it losing and does the red card discount work

so with the recent change to forbidding purchasing Disney gift cards with target gc i wonder if it is a little hit to their business. We're there other GC that they used to allow? I have never been a regular target shopper , but with being able to save a little $$ on our Disney trips with discount gift cards and the red card I spent quite a bit of money.

Do you still get the red 5% off on the gift cards? I will still be inclined to purchase some with at least a small savings.

AFAIK, you can still use Target GCs to purchase Disney GCs in stores. You just cannot do it online. Disney GCs were not the only specialty GCs that you could purchase that way in the past.

The 5% REDCard discount still works online and in the stores when you buy specialty GCs but only applies to the portion of your purchase which is actually paid for with the REDCard.

I doubt that Target is losing much business over this. They would not have found a way to close the loophole if they were making a lot of money from people taking advantage of it.

You still get 5% off Disney GCs, both online and in-store, when you pay with your REDCard. You'll only get 5% off on the portion of the order paid with your REDCard.

It appears that for now you can still use Target GCs to purchase Disney GCs in-store only (with no discount).
