Yesterday I was entering the waiting area at Crush and they were handing out quite a few: an invitation to 'Special Park Dream Time Event'.

It was valid for last night only, essentially you showed up 30 minutes before park closing, with your pass, and it allowed you to attend a little party at Hollywood Pictures Backlot Stage and to stay for an hour after the official California Adventure park closing.

Unfortunately I didn't attend so can't say how the event went. It was mid-afternoon and I was getting ready to leave, plus I'm traveling solo and was leery about walking to and from the park after dark. It was still cool to say I won though. lol

OMG, that is awesome!! Too bad you couldnt use it.

We won fastpasses, but there was no need to use them. There aren't any lines!

I thought someone won a year of a million dreams... as in like a AP or something... You got my hopes up that there was something like that out! :rotfl:

That's very cool you got that. And a bummer you didn't use it! I think it was the first day they offered it! So lucky.

But we know all about winning things we didn't use...we got a "magical moment" (not quite a Dream) for some sort of special seating for Billy Hill, but we were running late to get to it, and then there the parade was, and...we just watched the parade instead. Only since I got back did I realize how popular those guys are! :)

It is my understanding that they are doing this after hour event 12 times, starting with yesterday. I read somewhere, can't remember where, that they are handed out to about 10K people over the course of the day.

Wow 10,000. Guess I'm not so special.. sniff sniff. lol.

I'd be interested to know how many people took advantage and went to the event. Sort of wonder if it was an event where an even bigger dream was given away to those who attended.

Any idea what kind of time frame the 12 times falls into?

I would definitely feel special.......what a bonus if you got to use it!
I read somewhere that yesterday was the first day but have no clue when the others are. I am sure there is a list somewhere.......just don't know where. It would be cool to hear if anyone was there and how that extra hours was!

Here is some info. that I found in an article by Al Lutz on MIceage. The days will be held 12 times throughout 2008 during the off-season when the parks close early. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun and since we haven't won any dreams yet, I'm hoping this happens when we will be there. Also, there is a better chance to win this one since it is given out to a large number of people. (See the article below for the numbers).:)

A "Dream Magic Hour" will take place 12 times in 2008, six times each in Disneyland and DCA. The Dream Magic Hour is awarded to 2,000 visitors per day in DCA and 3,000 per day at Disneyland on days when the parks close at either 6 p.m. or 8 p.m., which basically means weekdays in the off season.

Once the parks close to regular visitors, Magic Hour winners will be herded, um, shepherded into either the Festival Arena or the corner of Hollywood Backlot where the Magic Hour will begin 30 minutes after regular park closing. After a blast of confetti, the winners will be turned loose in the park to go ride most of the major attractions. One or two fast food locations or ODV carts in each park will stay open, although the stores will all be closed. For exactly 60 minutes winners will be allowed to ride as many rides as they can before the Magic Hour ends and the park closes for the night.

I got dreamed at Turtle Talk too. We decided to stay & see what it was all about. I did post a thread about it. It was neat to be part of the first one. From what one cast member said, and he was the official counter guy, only about 325 of us showed up. There may have been more. I will have to look at my pics and count everyone...:rotfl:
