Ok, so this isn't your typical lottery and it requires me to spend money instead of winning money, but I'm still exciting.

Every year, the Red Sox set up a lottery that anyone can enter. If you "win" the lottery, you then have the opportunity to purchase tickets to special games (Yankees, Opening Day, Patriots Day) or for Green Monster seats. I enter every year and this year, I actually "won" the chance to buy Green Monster seats.

So on Saturday, I can log in (using my special login and password and the link that is in my email) and I can attempt to purchase tickets. I say "attempt" because I'm not the only winner of this lottery and everyone will surely be trying to buy tickets at the same time, so it can take a while to actually get into the virtual ticket office.

Anyway, I'm excited because I never win anything and we did just get our tax refund, so we may actually be able to afford tickets.

Congratulations. Best of luck with getting the tickets you want. Keep us updated. Go SOX!!!!!!

Congrats! My brother won the yankees tickets. Just fyi - it took close to 2 hours to get thru online. He really didn't have many options left by then and I don't know what seats he got but I think they were $27 dollar seats. I don't remember if there was a limit but he purchased 4 seats so he could take his 3 kids (sil has no interest in going). Since both older kids are in college I volunteered to take dd with him and my nephew if they aren't interested but so far no takers.

I"LL GO!!!!!!!!!
Go Yankees!

I'm working on Saturday, so hubby is going to sit on the computer to see if he can get the tickets. Hopefully with more games to choose from, he'll have it a little easier than those going for the Yankee tickets.

We're all set with Yankee tickets since we've got a connection. A friend has weekend season tickets and he always tries to set aside one set of Yankee tickets for us. (Hubby is a Yankees fan, so we get some attention at the game when he's wearing his Yankee jersey and I'm wearing my Sox jersey.)

Well, we did get tickets. Hubby logged in at Noon and sat in the virtual waiting room for 3 hours. Then he had to leave because we had to be at bowling at 4:00.

When we got home after bowling, he logged in again and within 5 minutes he was in and able to buy tickets. So I guess the trick is to not try to jump in right at the start of the sale. There is a disclaimer that says that once in the waiting room, it is totally random as to who gets in to actually buy tickets. It isn't first-come, first-served. So getting in right at the start doesn't really increase your chances.

Congradulations on getting the tickets.
