I wish DVC rooms had a Keurig instead of a coffeemaker

Are the i-homes the alarm clocks with the i-Pod docking stations? They had them in the last few resorts that we've stayed at. Wouldn't it be a little hard to shove any of that stuff into a suitcase?

When we arrived at BCV ours was MIA so they do disappear.

It would be nice to have a machine available for those that want it but I find it unnecessary for everyone to pay for it with dues.

I would love to see a Keurig in the rooms. The cost would be a non issue as I'm sure Keurig would want the money back in capsule orders.

Maybe they could make a special edition "DVC Blend" by Nescafe! (kidding on that one)...

We won't be drinking the Disney coffee this trip - we will be purchasing a Keurig Mini+ and bringing it with us, as well as K-cups. I wonder if Disney would ever consider talking Keurig into a deal where Keurig would bring in a couple of their office units (complete with K-cup vending, or Disney could sell those themselves) and set them up in the counter service restaurant in each resort. Hoping for having the Keurig units in each room like some other hotels do would be asking too much (at least Disney would think so), but I wouldn't find that such an unreasonable touch in the deluxes at least.

Dont they have a disney blend coffe like they do candy ? I remember seeing it at the old world of disney in NYC. So all they would need to do is get k-cups made of it.

Love the thread, it has given me a couple of ideas. Since 08, we have brought beans from Northwest, stored a coffee grinder in the Purple Box, and bought bottled water on way to the resort just to have good fresh coffee each morning. But never seem to have enough for all of us.

So ideas you all have given me, 1. ask for another coffee maker when we arrive and/or perhaps we will bring a couple of French presses to store in the Purple Box's(use to be 1 box, guess we keep too much stuff:confused3), presses are faster and better than Mr Coffee.

Or just bring a Bunn coffee maker and leave it in the Purple Box, wonder if there is room........... Not quite as good as French press, but as fast and more cups of coffee.

The Keurig is actually great for heating up water for tea. I'm just saying.

(And many of us with Keurigs have the accessory you use for coffee you have ground yourself.)

We have the Keurig and we use it for hot tea, iced tea, and of course coffee. I agree totally. What a great idea. Bring on the K-Cup to DVC!

I need several cups to get going in the morning so Keurig does not really work for me not very cost effective either.
I had looked at them, but, like you, I :surfweb: in the morning. Lots and lots. and lots. BUT.....

hmm... tell me more? This could raise it's cost effectiveness for me.

I think it's called a My K-Cup, and you put your own ground coffee in it. I used to buy k-cups, but since I can't even get them for less than 50 cents now, I just use my own :surfweb:

Count me in for another Keurig lover! SIL got me hooked this year!

But since WDW isn't about to put them in rooms, couldn't you take K-cups (coffee only), pop open the tops, dump the grounds into the Mr. Coffee pot, use the appropriate amount of water, and voila! You have a much better cup of coffee without lugging around your brewer?

And the iHomes walked away? Never heard about that one. What is WRONG with people??????

I shopped for a Keurig for our last trip, but it weighs almost 9 lbs!
That's too heavy for luggage when flying. I only drink one cup and DH doesn't drink it at all. I don't need a full pot of coffee so I bring instant and an electric kettle. I wish they had the Keurig too! I don't like instant.

Sounds good but I have to wonder if Disney has an exclusive agreement with Nescafe, similar to the Coke agreements.

It's funny, but worldwide Nescafe is quite popular. My friend in Thailand always brings her Nescafe instant packets that already have creamer and sugar included in them. If you look in the asian food markets here in the states most of the coffee is Nescafe.

Just read the whole tread and I'm surprised so many Keurig fans...I have never had a decent cup of coffee out of these things...they do a lousy job extracting IMO. I'll stick with my Technivorm - best coffeemaker I've ever owned.

Love Keurig! We have a Mini in our Owners Locker and use a refillable k-cup, with our own coffee in it.
