And I was so amazed. I have avoided going just because I wasn't sure. Our LSS was having free crops on Friday nights this month so last Friday night I needed some serious ME time and so I decided to go. I got 6 (could have been 8, I can't remember) pages done. I was so shocked!!!! And because of that, in looking through my pictures that I have left I probably have about 8-10 more pages to go and I'm done. This book is my dd's and my trip to Ohio and Canada almost 6 years ago!!!! It is really turning out great except for I'm really hating my CM book - I just don't like those strap and hinges things. I want my top loader back!!!!!

So do you go to crops very often and if so do you get much done???

That's a great feeling! I am almost done my son's album in a CM book and will glad when I am done for many reason But I must say I really love the look of the book once I got use to the white back ground! But I will be back to top loading soon!

I'm trying to get back in the habit of going to crops once a month. I like to go to them because I pick up ideas and I get so much done!
And, yes... I'm a top-loader too!;)

I have been nervous to go to one of the crops at my LSS because I am just starting, and a guy.

I did get some pages done this weekend at home. I think if I went to a crop I would be busy admiring the other people's work, and nervous showing my stuff, so far. I did get some nice compliments on my first page from the users here. I will try to post pics of some of my other ones and see what people think.

I am hoping to find a friend of mine who does scrapbooking OR get a friend into it, and then I would have someone to go with to a crop.

Mike

Mike Scott8- It really does help to go with somebody you know the first time or two. At least it was for me. Then you get to know the "regulars" and you'll fit right in! Actually, having a male point of view might be helpful sometimes!:D

Mike...I was nervous too of people actually seeing my finished pages but I got some awesome compliments on them and that really helped me out alot. And I went alone but ended up knowing some people that were there.

I am familiar, a little bit, with the people who work at the store from being in there so much :teeth:

I may give it a shot. I showed a friend of mine here at work some of my pages today. I brought in my album to take and have color copies made, after work, of the pages I did this weekend of my nephew's 1st Birthday. He said they looked nice.

And my wonderful DW has offered to go to a crop with me (even though she doesn't really scrap) so I would be more comfortable, and know someone there. So I MAY take her up on her offer.

I will really give some consideration and thought to going to a crop!

Thanks,
Mike

Watch out, Mike...Taking the DW is a sure way to get her hooked too!

Some good points were made in this thread :). I went to my first class a couple of weeks ago with a friend. It helped me to know someone else.

Mike, my husband doesn't actually scrap, but he vistis our two LSS with me (& helps me spend our money!!). He has a great eye for color & is often helpful when I am trying to put colors together on a page.

My CMC has a Cropper's Club and we meet once a month. It has helped me to stay on track and I'm almost finish with my first book ever. I am new to scrapbooking and when I went for my first class - I was the only one! It was nice because I got some one-on-one. I was very nervous about the workshops but after going to a few, I feel right at home and get 6 pages done on an average.

I would encourage anyone to go because it really helps to complete albums and for me its very relaxing to get away from the family for a few hours and spend time with "me".
