I went to a Land of Dreams to see an Ogre and a Donkey. There were Trolls. I saw a light show over the water and on the Castle. I saw a Epic Model.

How did I not see you started a new trip report! Well, I'm here now ::yes:: .

Great trip report so far! Your pictures are great!

I know my boys have mentioned that they would like to check out the new Dream Works Land when we are there. I know they want to focus on the HP parts for sure but this would be a great filler between rides

It is such a nice area to walk through. Don’t forget to try one of the Troll ice creams.

Friday, June 21st continued

After walking out of the Tribute Store I looked at my watch and it was close to 4 pm. I decided to head out of the park and catch the Water Taxi back to the resort. I think I had mentioned before the parks didn’t appear to very busy.

It’s funny that even when the parks appear not be terribly busy there can be still be a lot of people there. I usually don’t stay until close. but I did this trip a couple of times and as I was leaving the masses where coming out of everywhere leaving too.

The parks have the ability to hold plenty of folks with the attractions and restaurants.

I have only once in all the years I have been going to Universal Orlando seen the parks be at compacity and close during the time I was there. I think that might have been during my trip for HHN in September of 2022 if I remember correctly.

I was walking out of Diagon Alley and looked to my right and there was a mass of people like wall to wall people heading in the direction of Diagon Alley. I had never seen the street clogged with that many people before.

I headed past the knight bus walking quickly with intent of making it to the bridge that leads over to Simpson’s area. As I passed the bus the shrunken Head called out and said “thanks for leaving me here”. I laughed as I headed for the bridge. There was no way I wanted to get caught in that crowd.

Sorry, waylaid remembered thought there…..LOL

Back to regular scheduled program.

I stopped and picked up a cup of ice water on the way out.

It is so nice that you can go to any area that sells soda and get free ice water to cool you off. Sometimes soda just does not quench the thirst that a nice cup of cold ice water can.

I don’t usually buy the refillable soda cups for myself as I’am not in the parks long enough during the day. When I used to have the grandchildren with me I did buy them as we were in the parks a lot and it was a great way to stay hydrated.

If you are a AP holder you do get a discount on the refillable soda cups.

What is also nice is if you are a person that brings your own water containers you can fill them with water at the refillable soda stations for free.

I walked through the store on my way out to get a little cool off from the AC. I will admit I do get a little side tracked by looking at all the new merch I somehow missed walking through first time.

It was hot and the Florida sun was beating down pretty good. I was ready to get in the AC for a while.

Secret to having a nice vacation at Universal in the summer is to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated and take breaks from the heat and sun during the day.

Getting back to your Resort for a break if you are staying onsite is one of awesome perks of staying at one of the Resorts during your visit.

Thankfully I didn’t have to wait long for the boat to Sapphire Falls to arrive.

After a nice ride to SF I went and retrieved by suitcase out of the car and received a text to return to the front desk to have my card reprogrammed for my room which was ready.

I had requested a higher floor room if one was available and one became available and they were so kind to assign it to me. Again the Staff are always trying to be attentive to making your stay a great one.

After getting my key reprogramed I went to my room. It was nice to get into the room and get settled for the next few nights.

The Hallways are nicely done.
IMG_0236.jpeg

I reached my room.
IMG_0237.jpeg

The room was so nice and cool and it was clean and stocked with plenty of towels. I went and filled the ice bucket and enjoyed a diet soda.

I put things away and had a wonderful shower and put on some comfy clothes. It was time to relax after a long fun day in the heat.

This was a two queen Lagoon View room. It was plenty big for me. The rooms have everything you need to make sure you have a comfortable stay.

IMG_0407.jpeg

IMG_0406.jpeg

IMG_0412.jpeg

I don’t use the coffee machine as I always go out for coffee in the morning, but there are coffee and tea pods and the accompanying condiments for you hot drinks. The maids replenish things when they clean your room, but if you need more just text your request and it will be delivered to your room.
IMG_0410.jpeg

There are plenty of drawers for storing your things.
IMG_0409.jpeg

The provided small refrigerator is perfect size for holding drinks and water and small amounts of food.
IMG_0408.jpeg

This room had a walk in shower. Having those built in benches are a nice touch.
IMG_0405.jpeg

All the toiletries you could need are provided. The towels and watch cloths are nice as are the sheets and pillow slips on the beds.
IMG_0404.jpeg

The rooms are very aesthetically pleasing with the beach inspired colors.

I never usually nap this late, but I felt a snooze coming on.

I love all the tributes to the classic movies:)
We never found a tribute store on our last visit. I don't know why because I thought I looked into every store there was in both parks, LOL. I will certainly find one when we visit this November:) Thanks for all the wonderful pictures of the stores and their merchandise.

You are so welcome, I’am glad you enjoyed the photos Ruth.

The Halloween Tribute Store has been located where the Macy’s Store front is in the New York area of the Park. They have been for the past few years altering the facade of the front for HHN.

I circled the area on the map.

Some other locations to look for are the Five & Dime in the Hollywood section. This is were the cool Monster figures are located. This is located right across the street from the Event Tribute Store above. A few doors before the Monster Make Up show entrance.

IMG_0018.jpeg

In Islands of Adventure they have the All Hallows Eve Boutique during the HHN celebration.

On my recent trip this was made up for the Monsters Hideaway.
IMG_9916.jpeg

This is located in the Lost Continent
IMG_3870.jpeg

Another place to take in Halloween decorations and have a Halloween inspired drink is the Red Coconut Club which is changed into the Dead Coconut Club for HHN. It is located in CityWalk.
IMG_3871.jpeg

There has also been a nice Halloween display on the second floor at Cabana Bay that coincides with the houses at HHN.

Hope this helps with your planning.

Friday, June 21st continued

After a nice little snooze I was ready to get out and walk around the Resort a little and decide on something for dinner.

I stopped by the New Dutch Trading Company that is located in the Lobby of SF. There is plenty of seating in the lobby to eat your food or you can take it back to your room. They sell cold sandwiches, salads, water, soft drinks, coffee, wine, hot sandwiches, pizza and some select hot foods and dessert and ice cream. There are also chips and other things for sale. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I saw someone enjoying the Cuban sandwich at one of the tables that sits near the elevators. So I decided to try one for dinner,
IMG_0165.jpeg

I picked up a few condiments and took the sandwhich back to my room. The Sandwich was warm and good and really hit the spot.
IMG_0399.jpeg

After I was done I called my hubby and told him about my day. I told him about the exhibit model of Epic Universe. He is a Retired Architect and used to have to build Architectural models as part of his presentations in college. He also did them as future project presentations for the large Architectural firm he worked for when fresh out of college. I told him the model presentation for Epic Universe was huge and he would have enjoyed looking at it.

Later I watched a little TV. Then it was time to get ready for bed.

It had been a full day and even though I had a short nap I was ready for a good sleep.

As soon as my head hit the pillow I was out.

Saturday, June 22nd

I was up with early. After a short nap yesterday and a good nights sleep I was ready to get the day started.

A quick shower and I was ready to go and get some coffee to start my morning.

I walked around a little and snapped a few photos of the Lobby.
IMG_3751.jpeg

IMG_3752.jpeg

And the pool
IMG_0235.jpeg

They do have nice Cabanas for rent by the pools and there are a number of them. If I remember you got a fresh fruit tray and some cold sodas and water in your Cabana refrigerator and a discount on all food purchased as part of your rental. It is a great value for a fun day at the pool.
IMG_0234.jpeg

There were already a few people that were attending a convention out having their breakfast.
IMG_0233.jpeg

IMG_0232.jpeg

The Strong Water Tavern located in the Lobby is a wonderful place for food and cocktails. If you haven’t visited it stop in and have drink and some food. They are very nice and knowledgeable on the cocktails.

The Guest services is conveniently located in the Lobby
IMG_0163.jpeg

As well as concierge and Avis car rental
IMG_0159.jpeg

I have seen folks on the boards asking about possible transportation to the resort from the airport.

There are lots of options. One is renting a vehicle from Avis for the day at the airport or a couple of days and you just return it at the resort and pick one up the day before you leave or the day of if it works and return at the airport.

Also it is nice to have the option of renting a vehicle from Avis at the resort for a day or two for some travel time away.

I like having my vehicle or rental during my stay so I can do a little traveling around Orlando if I want.

It is so nice to have the option of a car rental located right in the lobby.

I noticed the s’mores sticks. I vaguely remember them having a fire pit down at a certain area in back of the pool were TM’s supervised s’mores fun with guest. Going to assume that still happens if they are selling them. I will have to ask next time I’am there.

After I was done looking around the store I wanted to head out for my coffee for the morning.

There is a nice Starbucks located at Aventura Resort which is located right next door to Sapphire Falls.

This is the Portico you drive up to when you arrive at Sapphire Falls. It is really pretty.

IMG_0176.jpeg

It is a quick walk over to Aventura. I enjoyed some of the pretty landscaping in front of Sapphire Falls on the way.
IMG_0178.jpeg

IMG_0177.jpeg

This is the parking garage which is connected to Sapphire Falls. Very conveniently located.
IMG_0181.jpeg

IMG_0180.jpeg

IMG_0182.jpeg

There is a nice walkway provided to walk to Aventura.

I can remember watching Aventura being built. It is a sleek modern looking Architectural design.
IMG_0179.jpeg

I wanted to take a moment to talk about the resorts.

I can remember as I’am sure a lot of long time attendees to Universal Orlando can when there were only three Resorts. Portofino, HardRock and Royal Pacific.

Now there are eight with three more joining the list soon. Universal has done a nice job of grouping their Resorts according to price and amenities.

PREMIER RESORTS

Portofino
HardRock
Royal Pacific

Premier Resorts offer Unlimited Express with your stay there. There is also Water Taxi transportation provided from these resorts.

All of these resorts area walkable to the parks with HR being the closest one and Portofino the farthest.

PREFERRED RESORTS

Sapphire Falls- is a Caribbean Themed Resort with a definite Island feel.

SF has Water Taxi transportation provided and one of the biggest pools on property. It has great workout facility and Strong Water a wonderful tavern.

SF is walkable to the parks. There are pathways provided. It is a hike, but doable.

PRIME VALUE RESORTS

Cabana Bay Beach Resort- is a retro 50-60’s themed resort with a lazy river pool area, bowling Alley

Bus transportation is provided from all the Prime Value Resorts that takes you to CityWalk.

Aventura Resort- Is a more sleek modern minimalist design,

Stella Nova- Is a new Resort that will be located near the new Park Epic Universe. This resort is slated to open in January 2025.

Terra Luna- Is a new Resort that will also be located near the new Park Epic Universe and is slated to open January 2025.

VALUE RESORTS

Endless Summer Resort- Dockside Inn and Suites

Endless Summer Resort- Surfside Inn and Suites

Both of these resorts are located in the area were Wet & Wild Water Park used to be and are the farthest from the parks. There is bus transportation provided for these resorts.

One Resort that has not been mentioned yet is the Helios Grand Hotel that will be located in the New Park Epic Universe. The model looks amazing and it might just be in class by itself. I’am sure it will be the Ultimate Premier Resort for Universal Orlando. I’am looking forward to seething this beauty and staying there.

There will be eleven Resorts when Epic Universe is done. Wow has Universal grown.

There are nice Resorts to pick from for everyone.

Now back to getting my morning coffee.

Aventura lobby and interior design is sleek and modern in keeping with the exterior design. With the polished concrete floors and modern furniture.
IMG_0185.jpeg

IMG_0186.jpeg

It was quiet this morning and I headed over to the Starbucks which is located right next to the lobby. This is a great Starbucks with a nice crew of folks who know how to make good coffee drinks. It can be busy later in the morning.

Hello little mermaid. Alexa was the barista that waited on me and she was awesome.
IMG_0188.jpeg

IMG_0187.jpeg

After getting my items from Starbucks I took a few short steps over to the Urban Pantry area Bakery.

IMG_0193.jpeg

They sell the most wonderful fresh fruit bowls. You pick 5 from the ones on offer then choose the yogurt you want and granola. The yogurt and granola can be served on the side if you do not want it on your fruit. I don’t like mine on top of my fruit so I get it on the side.

These fruit bowls are very large portions and easily shared along side other breakfast dishes with your family.

You can get the fruit bowl to go also.
IMG_0194.jpeg

IMG_0195.jpeg

Jason prepared by fruit bowl on this morning and talk about a guy who is happy with his job. He was so attentive and helpful and smiled all the while. What a nice young man. He is Five Stars all the way. He really made my morning and I let him know how awesome he is.

There is a area to the back that serves hot breakfast items also.
IMG_0190.jpeg
There is plenty of seating provided.

It is a vast expanse of space which makes it easy to spread out and enjoy your food without feeling crowded.

I took my Starbucks, fruit and bagel and had a seat in the big booth facing the pool in the food area of Aventura Resort.

IMG_0208.jpeg

You can see the Cabana bay Resort in the distance.
IMG_0209.jpeg

The bakery area where the fruit bowls are sold also have cinnamon rolls, croissants, donuts and Pain Au Chocolat for sale.
IMG_0196.jpeg

The fruit bowl is significant and I always have a lot of fruit left over. Sometimes I take the rest back to my room and put it in the refrigerator to have to snack on later.

I also bought an everything bagel, avocado and cream cheese.
IMG_0204.jpeg

I always have the granola and yogurt on the side not on top the fruit.
IMG_0205.jpeg

IMG_0207.jpeg

It was early in the morning and the dining area was quiet. I had a nice relaxing breakfast,

They do have a sushi counter. I have never had their sushi, but I have had their Wok Bowls and they are very good.
IMG_0199.jpeg

After I was done I snapped a few photos on my way out.

IMG_0213.jpeg

Urban Pantry also has a pizza station.
IMG_0206.jpeg

A photo from the back window shows the Endless Summer Resort-Surfside Inn and Suites.
IMG_0212.jpeg

After breakfast I went back to Sapphire Falls to my room and the maid had already been in and cleaned up and made the bed. She replenished the towels, toiletries.

I have walked by some rooms when the maids are in them over the years staying at the different resorts and some folks really trash their rooms.

I always leave my tip for the maids on the beside table every morning. I Know that the maids change according to their schedules and I want to make sure the maid who is attending to my room gets a tip everyday.

I decided to and do a little looking around the stores. I like the Vineland Outlet Mall. I wanted to get there when it opened so I could look at a few stores that I’am interested in there.

It was a quick drive there. I always avoid the I 4 as much as I can. So I took what I call the back way. Turkey Lake which continues on as Palm Parkway. Then Left at Apopka-Vineland Road. Take this road until you go under the I 4 overpass to the light at Vineland and turn left and it will take you directly to the Outlet Mall at 8200 Vineland Avenue.

I always like to take a look in Coach, Gucci and Vera Bradley.

The Mall had just opened when I arrived and I walked through the food court and then out the other door and there was a long line waiting already to get into the Disney Outlet Store.

I stopped in Gucci and I did not see anything that picked my interest. I then had a look in Vera Bradley and found a few things for my nieces birthday.

Then I looked in Coach and then I was ready to go.

I decided once I was back in the SUV to go to Mall at Millenia. It was already hot out and I wanted to do a little more walking and shopping. So walking around the beautiful Mall at Millenia sounded good to me.

IMG_0253.jpeg

IMG_0254.jpeg
It was early and the Mall had only been open for about 30 minutes and it was already busy.

I had walk in the Apple Store.
IMG_0252.jpeg

Then it was on to Macy’s they have a very nice Macy’s Store and I always like to have a look.

I really like Betsy Johnson jewelry. Her Jewelry is fun and whimsical. I happened to walk by the shoe department and they had some of her shoe designs. Her shoe designs are equally as whimsical. I wouldn’t buy the shoes, but they were very Betsy Johnson.
IMG_0246.jpeg

IMG_0247.jpeg

IMG_0248.jpeg

IMG_0249.jpeg

IMG_0250.jpeg

I saw a few things in the jewelry department I thought some of the younger ones in the family would like for gifts and after my purchases I decided to leave and head back to Sapphire Falls.

When I walked out the door of the Mall it was smoking Hot. I was glad I had been inside.

It was a quick drive back to the Resort.

After I arrived back to the Resort I stopped and looked around the Universal Studios Store in the Lobby.
IMG_0219.jpeg

This is a really nice store. One half of the store has all the merchandise associated with the parks. It has a very nice WWOHP section.

All the resorts have a store, but the nicest ones I have seen are this one, Cabana Bay, Aventura and Portofino.

I had seen this putty at the store located at Cabana Bay last September.
IMG_0221.jpeg

I had never seen this before.
IMG_0222.jpeg

The other half of the store is dedicated to travel apparel and everything you might have forgotten at home. They sell swimsuits, Hats sunglasses and clothes etc.IMG_0225.jpeg

IMG_0226.jpeg

IMG_0227.jpeg

A lot of the stores in the parks and resorts do carry different merchandise and some items might only be in that particular store. So if you are vacationing for a number of days and you can look around.

If you purchase things in parks and you are staying onsite you can have your purchases sent back to your room if you are staying at least 3 days if I remember correctly. The folks at the cash register will let you know. That gives them time to get your purchases delivered to your room. I have purchased items in the morning and they have been delivered in the late afternoon the same day or the next morning.

Also if you purchase items and you are only there for the day you can have them sent to the front of the park to pick up on your way out.

They have thought of nice options for you not to have to carry your purchases around all day.

After I was done looking in the store. I went up to my room and had a nice shower and put on some comfy clothes. The plan was to rest up and go out and see the show over the Lagoon in in the evening.

I was doing a little reading and suddenly the rain came and a massive downpour started. That is the one thing about Orlando it will either sprinkle or rain buckets, but it will not typically last long.

There are those rare occasions when a system comes over and hangs around for awhile. That typically happens in September while I’am at HHN…..LOL
IMG_3644.jpeg

I was hoping that the rain would cool things down for the show over the Lagoon at Universal Studios this evening.

Slowly I was lulled to sleep by the nice AC and the rain for a nice nap.
