as i am a pats fan
( didtn brady look good tonight woohoo)
there have already been 3 calls vs seattle that were bad to me
the touch foul on the seattle 1st touchdown clearly a ticky tac foul with just as much offenseive contact
big ben did not get in it never should have been a touchdown
and seattle just threw a touchdown to me
the guy caught the ball and his second foot seems to hit the pylon thats a touchdown they should have reviewed it and they did not at all
it was clearly a touchdown i dont understand why the NFL didtn review
thats a big deal

:sad2: If the Seahawks lose this it's because of biased referee's

In total agreement with both posts. The refs have been horrible and totally biased. Even the line judge on Ben's "touchdown" first appeared to be ready to spot the ball and then AFTER he's down and not even near the goal line (obviously inches away) he signals a TD. What's that all about?????

Let's go HAWKS - Kick It in the 2nd half and prove why you are there and why you should be winning this game!!!!!

I'm watching to and it seems to me that the officials were told to favor the Steelers for whatever reason. Hopefully "good" will prevail.

Oh and Tom Brady is ,without a doubt, the most perfect example of the male species ever, isn't he???

I was rooting for no one either, but the Seahawks are getting screwled. I hated that constipated Cower's smug attitude at the interview as well. Go Seattle overcome the NFL fix!!!

If the outcome of this game wasn't already pre-determined why are we seeing these commercials over and over with the Steeler's players and the trophy...

I thought it was just me & DH - but I see others are seeing the same thing!
I'd be really ticked off if I were a Seahawks fan!

(um...the commercials have shown players from both teams with the Trophy)

So I'm assuming the long run and gadget play were also somehow fixed?

Hey, whatever gets you through the night, I guess... :confused3

Agree with the OP except for the Seatle touchdown that was out of bounds (Jackson). Have to see the replay if his other foot touched the pylon.

Gadget play was the same play used against the Bengals in the playoffs.

They showed Holmgren, Hassleback and Alexander...one time each all the rest were Steeler's players.

no not all it was a great play but there have been at least 6 bad calls and some missed timeclock penalties its not good to have that many bad calls in teh superbowl

you would think that after the "bad call" bad press a few weeks back, that the officials would be a little more careful...

There have been some bad calls, and some bad mistakes...

but I'm not convinced Seattle was beaten so much as they were "defeated" by the set backs.

I don't believe the Steelers have played a much better game.

My DH, the biggest football fan ever, turned off the game before it was over. I really could not care less, but everyone here thought the reffing was bad. BOOOO Steelers!

AND, Tom Brady! Drool... Ladies, I have heard he is single again! My DH says I can't trade him in for the Brady model, so good luck to all you single gals.

Wow, I can understand being mad at the refs, but why boo the Steelers?

another Pats fan here, had no preference for the game until about 4pm today, the rest of the world looked just too pro-Pittsburgh. I saw missed calls on both teams - no idea who the better team is. :confused3 Congrats to the Steelers for the win and the Seahawks for putting up an insane fight.

I won't boo the Steelers- they played hard. I just think that if the officiating had been fair - the outcome would have been very different.

I do agree that the holding call was bad. I don't think either TD call was bad. Ben's ball crossed the plane of the goal line on his way down. He landed short of the goal line, but all that mattered was that it crossed the plane. The Seahawks TD was out. It's pretty clear on the review. I don't know enough about the rules to evaluate the "ticky tacky" calls, but I'm not convinced they changed the outcome of the game.

The Seahawks started out good, but just couldn't seem to close. The Steelers were almost embarassing for most of the first half. I think the difference was that the Steelers found their groove and the Seahawks never quite got there. They seemed disorganized and managed the clock badly.

Did the Steelers play great football? No, I don't think so. But I think they played good enough football to beat a very lackluster Seahawks game.

ITA with your post, well said.

I am glad to see that it wasn't just us (DH and I - and people rooting for the hawks) that saw some of these bad calls. At the end of the day it doesn't make any difference though, for the record books, they lost.

The Hawks had an amazing season though and should hold their heads high as the champions they are.
