I just came home from my overnight at the Polynesian. This is the first time I have evr stayed there, however I have visited the resort many times. I booked a one night stay for last night a few weeks ago. The only way I could afford it is because of the annual pass discount available. I booked the least expensive category, a garden view room which was fine with me. I arrived at the Polynesian yesterday around 1:30pm. The was not a line for check in so I walked right up to the counter. The very friendly CM greeted me with a friendly "aloha". She proceeded to check me in and then she toild me i had been upgraded to a Lagoon View! yay!! I wanted so much to book a lagoon view or even a theme park view but i could not justify it, money wise. But I was pixie dusted! I proceeded to my room, very thrilled about my upgrade. I will state that when I boooked, i did not make any requests what so ever, so i will bet that is one reason i was upgraded. I was assigned Aotearoa longhouse, first floor room 1222. I found the room and was awed when I opened the door to see the beautiful decor and the size of the room. It was great! Then i walked over to the patio door, looked out and i had a view of the castle!!! A view of the castle!! A view of the castle!! My heart was smiling
A truly magical moment for this Magic Kingdom Fan! I sat on my patio and gazed over the laggon and looked on to the castle for about an hour. I could hear the Dream along with Mickey show going on at the castle . I could hear the boats on the lagoon and their horns. I could hear the walt disney world railroad trains as they blew their whistles. it was great!I even thought about just staying and watchinh wishes from my patio, but i decided i would go tot he Mk and view it from Main St. Which, in retropsect, i wish i had stayed at the resot and viewed them from the resort, but o well.
All in all, it was great! I loved my room and i love the Polynesian resort.
