FRIDAY, NOV. 30:
I had signed up for the Keys to the Kingdom tour at the Magic Kingdom for this morning and had to be at the flag pole at 8:45 a. m. Hopped on the character breakfast bus heading for the Magic Kingdom and found a CM who was waiting for us to arrive. He ushered a small group in and offered coffee to who wanted. Some of the group worked on the scavenger hunt, I ducked into Town Hall for a birthday button and sat on the bench enjoying the warmth of the sun.
Our tour guides arrived and we were split into 2 groups. We had Mike who was great. We started off walking down Main Street stopping along the way at various points. At one point, the Mayor of Main Street stopped and visited with us for a few moments.
From here, we went to Tomorrowland, with several stops along the way. Had a relaxing ride on the People Mover where we were to find the hidden Mickey. From here we were off to Fantasyland. As we were getting ready to enter the "under ground" of the kingdom, Prince John popped out and teased Mike for a few. The tunnel tour was very informative and I enjoyed it, as did the rest of the group.
Back out into the kingdom and to the back of the castle. From here, we headed off to Frontierland with a ride on the Haunted House. Yesterday, I even found the wedding ring. We did get ushered in through the back door of the mansion (very cool). We had a potty stop and off for more back stage touring. We saw some of the floats for Sprecto and the Christmas parade. Neat.
From here, our tour was basically over, but we walked back to Main Street via Advertureland with Mike giving us some final details. Once back to Town Hall, we were told our pins would be delivered to Linda on Saturday for us.
From here, the group broke up and Patrick and I headed off for the Moderator / Host meet that was scheduled at the Columbia House. Had the chicken strips for lunch (good) and a nice time meeting up with some fellow moderators and hosts. Just dont ask Dan about the table (he he he).
Stayed and watched the new parade and talked to Kara. Due to a last minute schedule change - I was to miss her first performance with her Kettering Childrens Choir. I called to wish her luck - she told me that she was being good for my parents and that she had gotten all As on her mid term report card. YEAH!
From here, went back to the Dolphin to drop off stuff and meet up for a (yes you guessed it) a couple of Long Island Ice Teas. From there off to Epcot and for the Drink Around the World meet!
We started off at the Rose and Crown at 6 p. m. I had a nice white wine. Of course, the evening fun couldnt start off without a photo shoot, a opening and welcome speech, and the passing out of the badges. Soon our fearless leader SideshowBob and Sponge Pants Square Bob (or what ever his name is) were soon herding us off on our "tour of the world".
From here we ambled to Canada, where I couldnt find a glass of wine any where (sniff sniff). But soon, arrived at Mexico for a margarita. Yummy. White wine in Norway (thanks Dave), China we skipped, and then to Germany for more (yes) white wine. Then to Italy and more wine.
Upon arrival in Japan, couldnt find the plum wine stand (to drink a toast to our dear Pumba) but Debi was gracious to share hers with me. I did not "STEAL" Debis wine. We slowly made our way to Morocco. Now, I want to set the story straight here. A fellow Diser offered to buy a wine (a great wine) from France so I headed off to France to wait for my wine! I WAS NOT LOST, contrary to popular belief, legend, and rumor. I knew where I was - I was sitting on the fountain in France, so patiently waiting for my wine. Which someone else drank. And I have witnesses.
Watched Illuminations from France - I love this show. After the end of Illuminations the rest of the group met up and we slowly wandered our way out of Epcot. I wont mention being danced into a tree.
From Epcot, most of the group headed off to the Swan for Karaoke. Now, I will admit, things are a little fuzzy (well maybe a lot fuzzy) from here on - so I will just say, that I have been told that I had a good time, had some veggie sushi (told I didnt seem to enjoy it), didnt dance on the bar and some how ended in my room. I did wake up around 2:30 laying on the top of the bed with just my shoes off.
Now this is where the Disney newsletter that was mentioned earlier comes into play. The bartenders from Wed. night bet that I would end up in the canal by midnight Friday night.
WELL HA HA HA - I fooled them - I didnt!
That is all I am going to say about the matter.
