about some of the talk on room size, decor, location etc. How much time do you spend in a room to where this really comes into play? (just for fun) topic.

Even though I've been on 30+ trips I still spend VERY little time in my room. I'm not there to be hanging out in my villa, I'm out seeing and doing things. I can sit around in my rooms at home, BORING.

This is a great point. I reserved a studio for us this time because this is a short trip Nov 14 -20 and we won't spend a lot of time there. Morning coffee on the deck, some pool or hot tub time and shower and sleep. Vacation to me is not for resting. I'd rather run and have fun and rest when I get home. I'd rather use the larger amount of points for a longer stay when there is time for chilaxation time. :surfweb:

Having 3 kids, we spend a few hours a day in our room. We usually eat breakfast and then we try to have the kids settled in by 8:30 or so (especially with a toddler - no late nights for us). We like to sit on the balcony after we put the kids to bed and relax.

Since this is the first year I've owned, we're really living it up in 2 bedrooms. Next year we're doing 2 studios instead. We don't spend a ton of time in the room at WDW, at Vero and HHI we're on the beach most of the day. If it's not beach weather, we're outletting or sitting around the common areas.
I'm still new enough to DVC to be impressed with everything. A lot of things that seem to matter a whole lot to people on the board really don't matter to me.

DD and I spend very little time in the room DW on the last few trips has had a problem keeping up from dusk to dawn and we don't even run like we once did.So she spends some time in the room but has never had a problem.

Yes we liked the 2bdrm we stayed in for our first trip home treating DM and DsF but a studio is all we really need.

For us staying in a studio vs a 1 BR = more trips per year. Works out fine since we spend very little time in the room, usually on the go.

I don't cook on vacation, so I could care less about the kitchen.

Do require:

1) clean, decently furnished room

2) balcony with some sort of view to enjoy

3) comfortable bedding.

We spend a few hours in the room a day. Two hrs. for my 3 yo DD to nap and then most nights are in by 8:30-9pm. If we're in a studio we're out more. It's just too cramped. When we're in a 1 bdrm we hang out in the room just a little bit more. We rarely cook, but I HAVE to do laundry.

We spend a fair amount of time in our room or hanging out at the resort. We have 2 kids who are sleeping by 7:30pm every night (and one of them still naps for a couple hours every afternoon).

Dont spend more than a few minutes each day although wife likes to laze around a bit longer and maybe goes for a lay down on an afternoon. I spend an hour or so a day at the pool usually late on an evening when the parks are closed.

We also spend a fair amount of time in the room. We get a 1 BR because of this (and the king size bed :thumbsup2 ).

This is why a room with a nice view is important to us!

We do not spend time in the room unless we are sleeping.

I think the longer we are members, the more time we spend in the unit. We do go the parks every day, but we no longer feel like we have to do commando style touring, and we will often just go and veg out and people watch. It's really awful when you come home from a 12 night WDW trip and on the way home start enumerating all the things you FORGOT to do! :confused3 :teeth:
