I was in the HOT SEAT!!

Ok for any Disers at Who Wants to be a Millionaire on Friday November 4 at 4pm, that was me in the Hot Seat.

For those that were'nt there
I blew through to the 32,000 point level with no problems and all my life lines. The 64,000 point question killed my hopes. Question was some french phrase and what does it mean. Answers were:
A Nineteenth Century
B A City
C An opera
D A Battle.

I had no idea. Did ask the audience. I heared a huge groan. Started laughing. Audience said 57% Opera. I didnt think that was right so I did a 50/50. Answers remaining were Nineteenth Century or A Battle. Time was running out and I had a call a stranger left. Host says 5 seconds left and I was leaning towards nineteenth century but I was looking at D. I blurted out D. I was wrong. Got the Polo Shirt, Hat, 10 pins and the lanyard.
I completely forgot the lifeline because of the reminder with 5 seconds left.

It was fun though.

DH was the first person from WV (where we live) to get in the HOT SEAT! He got the hat and pins..but no one knew that Strawberry Shortcake originiated from greeting cards!

Hot Seat is loads of fun. I think my kids enjoyed seeing old Dad on the "TV" more than I did being up there.

Congrats! Did you get the first fastest finger right, or were you first in points on the board? What was your strategy if it was fastest finger?

It's great fun. I've made it to the Hot Seat four times, but sadly have never made it all the way to the grand prize (though I do have quite a collection of pins, hats and shirts). I will be trying again on our trip in December.

I was the 6th fastest finger. a 7 year old girl won it but refused to come down. Some woman was the next one and bombed out on the 32000 level. I answered her question correctly and knew that I was going to be up there. I kinda was in shock and embarrased and held my hand over my eyes. But when they said seat 36 and focused on me, I got up, smiled and walked down. My knees were SHAKING!!!!!!!

Fastest finger, make sure you read the question correctly.
On the other questions, I cant share the secret but will say that you will "hear"it when you are in there.

In my case, it didnt help me on any of questions. Either I knew them or didnt and I lost on a question that no one was able to help on.

Kari was like #2 one time when the show ended on our first trip up there, so every time I go I tell Kari she has to win the grand prize for me. Too bad she wasn't there to help, she knows french.
This last trip we both ended up in the top ten, but then the board got cleared. I'd really like to go on a disney cruise, it awws me everytime they say what you get if you get to a million.

it is just nuts how fast your fingers have to be.... My husband and I played at least 5 times last week, and neither of us ever made the top ten, and this is without missing any questions!! it is a load of fun to play though....

I was there Sat at 1 pm! I missed you by a day. I got to 5th on the points, but never got to the hot seat. The guy that was there the day I was got to the 250,000 question and lost!

Yep, Kelly and Brendan were there. It was cool to see them up on the screen. It was really weird to see my face up there. I kept saying to myself, just be calm and relax. Kelly said she could see me fidgeting and taking deep breaths. My legs were constantly in motion.

I really honestly thought Kelly would beat me up there. I know all sorts of trivia but I get sometimes and hit the wrong button when I know its wrong. She was in the top 10 the whole way also and I believe ended up finishing number 4.

DW and I have both been #1 at the end of the show but we haven't yet been in the hot seat. I like the MGM version because it depends less on knowledge of TV. On the syndicated show it seems like there is always a question about Friends, Seinfeld, or some other very popular series, and I've never watched any of them.

The lady in front of me lost her 32000 point question on a TV question.

"What was the name of Ray and Debra's daughter on the TV show Everybody loves Raymond"

B Callie
C Ariel
D Ally

She used the 50/50 and it was narrowed down to Casey and Ally. Then she did the phone a stranger. The guy who helped her was sure it was Casey.
He was wrong.

I'm not wearing the hat either.
