I was in an accident today (Car Pictures, Pg 5)

I'm not sure what I would do. Has anything been said about whether the accident caused his death or did the medical incident cause it? I think that would influence my decision. I would probabbly go in between viewing hours and pay my respects while no family member is there. If they have envelopes there, leave a small donation for either a mass card or to use as the family wishes. You can also leave a small note in the envelope. But in the end only you know what you will feel comfortable doing.

So sorry, Jeff.
I'm glad you weren't hurt and the girls weren't in the car.
As far as the funeral,if you still feel strongly about going to pay your respects on Tues.I think you should go.
Pay your respects and leave.I would not talk to the family.
You could leave a sympathy card there for the family.
You may feel a little post traumatic stress from the accident and paying your respects might give you some closure.
Hugs to you for caring so much.
My sympathies to the poor man and his family.

I would go. You could tell them you were there, and their loved one did not suffer after the accident. Or you could write this in a note. When my father died in a truck accident, I would have appreciated hearing this.

I decided not to go to the Funeral. I just wasn't sure what the how the family was going to take it. I felt their closure was more important than what that might have been to my closure. It'll have to be good enough.

Someone emailed this to me, I thought it might be a good thing to share. The family went through the loss of their little boy to some pretty serious health problems.

Todd & I could second guess ourselves forever about all the things we did or didn't do for Cody, especially the last couple weeks of his life but in the end it was God's decision, just as it was in this situation for Jeff. If God didn't want Elroy to go home to heaven he would have guided Jeff to do more or do things differently. Instead God put a person there (Jeff) who could handle it, learn from it and live with it. Yeah, it is easy to sit here and type all these things and another to experience it. Like you said it will take time and prayers and that's ok.

I also took some pictures of my car. It doesn't do justice to the accident because I was the secondary impact. I think it doesn't look like much, but DW thinks otherwise.

I took the following picture of the inside of the door. It's amazing with all that crushed inwards, it doesn't appear to have come into the passenger compartment at all:

Makes me feel better about the safety of cars when I see things like that.

Thank you all for sharing this experience with me. It has been helpful to share with you and hear your thoughts/prayers. I still have a long way to go, but God will show me the way He wanted me to go...
