I was almost a victim of road rage!

I was driving the highway when a big truck passed me. I didn't think anything of it until another big truck with a trailer passed me on the shoulder. (these are maybe F-150s) The 2 trucks kept trying to pass each other and when they succeeded they would slam on their brakes and make the other one go off the road. I slowed down, dumbfounded by their stupidity. I just knew the truck with the trailer was going to lose it and jacknife in front of me.

Finally one truck gets off on my exit ramp, the other truck follows, and the 1st truck decided to get back on the highway, going down the grassy hill to get back there. The 2nd truck with the trailer screeched to a halt. There is black smoke from their tires everywhere. So he is stopped in the middle of the exit ramp. I catch up to him slowly, and when he didn't move I gave a little honk. (stupid! Yes I know that NOW) He pulled over a little to let me around. I did and stopped at the light. He pulled up behind me and proceded to get out of his car!!!!!!!

I locked the doors and saw an opening in the lane turning right. I had to cut in front of some pretty suprised and mad people, but they didn't realise there was AN INSANE PERSON behind me out to get me. 5'2 me and this guy was HUGE. I wonder what he thought he would find, and what he would have done? Luckly I didn't have to find out. I was outta there. He was ranting and waving his arms.

The last I saw of him was him getting on the highway again. Probably to go after the 1st truck again. Stupid stupid stupid.

I was pretty impressed, I kept my cool and got out of the situation. I think I was probably more dumbstruck than scared. Some people have no control. And I will probably think twice before honking my horn! It was just the thing to do at the time, someone was in the way and not moving.

Well, anytime you get home on one piece, you've done a good job. DH and I have a little joke. He tells me to be careful driving, to watch out for the looneys. I always tell him not to worry. Anyone gets out of their car to rant at me would have to get out my way when I try to run 'em over!

Whew! That was a close one! What if you hadn't happened to see him coming (on foot) your way? Yikes. You did well to keep your wits about you and get out of the situation. I'm glad you are ok.

I rarely use my horn too. There are so many fruitcakes out there. I keep the doors to my vehicle locked at all times too. Religiously. Better safe than sorry.

I almost got run off the road trying to accelerate and some jerk wouldn't let me in- truck driver too. I had to drive on the shoulder until he passed by. They are so much angrier here than 10 years ago.
