We have reservations for POP on the 13th and I have been trying to upgrade to a different resort they keep saying that it is booked with the package that I have. Do you think I will be able to upgrade once I get there or should I keep trying? or should I just forget about it?

Keep trying. There will be other people, like yourself, who will upgrade and open up a room for you.

What package do you have? If it is the free dining package, make sure that the reservations agent knows to contact guest services. Apparently, they are the only ones that can upgrade the resort for packages under this promo. Just FYI, there's a thread about this on the codes sub-board if you need more info.

I was hoping it wasnt going to be jam packed... I guess I was wrong.. I just went on the website and put in start date 8-12 8-11 and 8-19 and there was nothing available.. that is unbeleivable... Do you have to stay onsite to get free dining ?? I am assuming yes.. but if not .. does that mean all the hotels around disney are booked to.. Are we going to have to wait in lines for 100 years ??

To get the Free Dining, you would have had to book a room and ticket package at one of the on site resorts. (Can't get it at the Swan/Dolphin or any of the DD Resorts or any off site resort). IIRC, the deadline for booking the packages with free dining has passed - it was June 25.

I don't think the free dining will make the parks more crowded (except for the restaurants, LOL). It just enticed more people to stay on site instead of off site. The parks get crowded when the off site resorts are full and lots of locals visit. (If every room on site was filled and only on site guests were allowed to go to the parks, they would feel empty)! I don't think the free dining promotion will have any effect at all on the occupancy of the off site resorts or the likelihood that locals will visit.

Anyway - I don't think the parks will be any more crowded than is usual for this time of the year.

Best wishes -
