I want to send a family on a trip...where to start?

So my sister is one of those hard-luck types. She's got two kids with special needs (ASD, Down Syndrome), she had a brain tumor the size of a plum removed 10 years ago and still has issues from that, her husband has a seizure disorder and has been out of work for a couple of years, she manages to support the family on her part-time income. There's more (too much more) to her troubles, but you get the idea...

Anyway, she and her husband have been married 17 yrs and went to WDW on their honeymoon...and really haven't taken a trip since. They've never been on a real family vacation.

I just feel like I would really, really like to make something happen for them in terms of a Disney vacation, even if it's just a weekend in Disneyland. Unfortunately, we aren't in a financial position to make this happen for them.

So I'm turning to all of you - do any of you know of any organizations that work with deserving families on something like this? Or do any of you know of people who have raised funds to send a family on a Disney vacation? I'm looking for any and all ideas on how I can make this happen - and I, and the rest of my siblings, am willing to put in as much work as it could take...

Please forgive me if I'm not posting in the correct spot or if I'm talking crazy. I just would love to see my loved ones live a little bit of the dream, you know?

The Down Syndrome kids might qualify for a make a wish trip. but they have to say that's what they want. it's worth a shot.

Does the local Down Syndrome Society have resources to help on this front? That may be a good place to start.
