I want to make a difference....

Every week I watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition, I am humbled... but tonights episode just reinforced a feeling I've had for a long time... I really want to make a difference in the lives of children...even if only one child.
I hope, within 2-3 yrs time, I am able to foster or adopt a child (or more). I can find many in my own neighborhood who need a good home, and I thought it was wonderful what this family did to try to make a difference in Haiti. Those 5 children will be eternally grateful... and you never know what differences they may make because of those who adopted them...

I have a long term goal of becoming a foster parent. However, I need to wait until my girls are older. But for now, I am going to become a babysitter for foster families.

I also volunteer for pregnant teens programs and I let my kids help in that area. Hopefully, it will help prevent my girls from becoming pregnant too soon.
