Hi everyone!

the reason i am creating this thread is so that you awesome people could give me some advice as to how to convince my parents to take me and my sister back to disney! We have already gone last month, and i am not saying that i want to go tomorrow or anything, but maybe in late august, early september during free dining (if they plan to have that this year)! My parents already told me that there is no possible way we will be going back anytime this year, but I AM HAVING SERIOUS DISNEY DEPRiVATION! Everyone knows the more they go to Disney, the more the fall in love with it, and boy am i in love! Is there any way any of you could give me some tips?

Thanks in Advance!
Danielle!

Hi Danielle,

This is our first trip in 18 years. We're both teachers and haven't been able to afford it until now (and, to be honest, I'm not sure we can really afford it this time around.) So I'm probably not the person to convince your parents that two trips in 3 months are really necessary.

I say start saving that baby sitting money!

PS-- It's already too late to book this year's free dining.

I know the feeling and one summer I gave in, we went back two months later. It is extremely expensive to do multiple vacations though. Incidentally two months was too short, I would have felt better waiting longer.

how old are you? do you have a job? or a paper route?
it might be easier to convince them if you are picking up part of the bill.
do you mean august next year? if so you do have a whole year to save.
(free dining for this year is no longer available)

Well im 14 years old, and i am thinking about getting a job babysitting, but still i don't think my parents would give in.

The only reason i was hoping it would be possible, is because last year, we went to France in june and got to go to disney in august for free dining, so i was hoping that maybe this year, that could happen again.

By the way my parents are both teachers too.

everyone goes into a state of depression after they get back from disney, it's just part of the trip

if i were you i would ask my parents to save upand you could have a bigger and better trip in another year, there's no reason to go back so soon. When i was growing up and i wished i could go more then once a year my parents would always say "if we went too often that would make it less speical". And i belive that's true, its speical when you go once a year.

OK, so you're absolutely NOT getting the point about how to engender the sympathy vote!

Giood luck trying though.

I think after a great summer full of travel, not to mention the great anticipation in planning (esp for Diser's...we are known to plan years in advance) the afterward can be quite depressing. I creied toward the end of the trip, I cried going to the airport and I was so sad when we got home. It is only natural to want to go right back. You are still in the middle of summer and you don't have school to occupy your time. I really don't think any parent could be talked into a 3rd trip in one year.

If I were you I would think about talking to your parents toward the end of the year, if you still want to go. I would also look into babysitting, now...not a few weeks before you go for extra money. I remember when I used to babysit. Word gets around fast, as long as you are good, and pretty soon you will have more work than you can handle. Then I would approach the parents. As a parent, and a former child that did this, DO NOT ask your parents THEN promise to find work. Find the work first, be responsible then approach them. By the end of the year you may have quite the savings. You may be able to convince them if you are able to pay for yourself, at least part of the way. In this economy, I do not know many parents that will pay for France, Disney and then be chomping at the bit to pay for more, no matter how much money they have. If they see you are willing to work for it, they may have a change of heart. If they don't, don't get mad and quit you jobs, you will still want them after you have cooled off. Besides no matter what their answer is, you will still have all that money.

Hi! I'm the same way you are. We went for a day to MK in May then when we found out our son could handle going to the parks we went back two weeks later and stayed five days. It was so much fun seeing Disney through my baby's eyes and I'm just in love with Disney World. Well, as soon as we got home I tried to find a way to go back in August. I felt like summer had just begun. There is no way we can do that but we are going to try to go in December. If your family has a Disney Visa Card then a discount code will hopefully come out in August that will save you 40% on a room only booking. So my DH and I will stay for three nights for about $150 at All star music. Go to the December code watch thread to find out when the code comes out. Your family should also get an email if you have the Disney Visa. The codes are only good for late Nov. to mid December so you would miss a few days of school and so would your parents. So if you babysit, maybe you could pay for yours and a family members ticket. I always got $10 an hour to babysit. That's really good money. I hope this helps. PM me if you want me to link you to the December code watch thread.

I would start looking for work like babysitting or mowing lawns and saving that money before you ask your parents to take you to WDW again.:thumbsup2

After you have saved at least 800.00 to put toward the cost of another trip then that would be the time to discuss vacation plans with your parents.
