I find it difficult to believe that one can rent points cheaply enough to make doing the cruise better by renting than by cash directly through the cruise lines. I suspect the only way this would be financially reasonable is if someone has an existing reservation they can't use. Otherwise at the usual rental rates or even below, the price is much cheaper in most cases by cash. By renting, you also lose the chance to cancel with a refund as well as most special incentives.
