just so I can hold him, snuggle with him, smell his head (weird but I love the smell of a baby's head), and rock him to sleep. Then I want to give it back.
I am almost *gasp* 40 I should not be having this biological clock ticking feeling. My clock is done!

Okay, I have a viable option for you to get your smelling and snuggling fix. Do you live near a major hosptial with a neonatal unit? If so, contact them and ask if you can volunteer to help with the preemies. I know there is a need for this, because I had a preemie myself (born at 26 weeks, 2 lbs, with a 3 month stint in the neonatal unit). There were many babies whose parents lived too far to visit their little ones in the NICU, and it is so important for preemies to get human contact to help them grow and thrive. The NICU my son stayed in allowed volunteers to hold and touch the babies in instances where parents were not available to do so. Check it out...it might be the perfect option for you!
We are loving all the same things we did with our own children, but this time around we can love him and spoil him and then give him back to his mom and dad. Of course, after a few days of not seeing the little guy, we start to miss him and can't wait to see him again!

. We have enjoyed watching our lil DGS full time since birth. In Jan. that dropped to two days a week as he started pre-school, then in the fall he's off to full time KG. Little ones indeed add such a bright spot to each day, enjoy as they grow up so fast, and we will really miss our lil man as he spreads his wings.
