I want the Magical Express (Not Mears, Or some other colored bus)

the only reason I even pay attention to the bus is not why most people do; its because my dad takes bus photos and he gives me a hitlist of bus numbers to look for to get photos of!! i do this with the disney transport buses as well . he has photos of the disney transport buses going way back to the beginning!!

if it wasnt for that I wouldnt care which version of the Mears transportation buses i was on or the Disney transport

I got the sense of your post and don't understand why you're being kind of dumped on here. I agree, somehow getting that blue/yellow DME bus makes me happy too. No, I wouldn't wait just to get one and yes, I truly appreciate the free ride. But I too feel the "magic" when I get on the real thing!!!

I didn't get the sense that OP was complaining or criticizing at all. I got the sense that OP was just a bit whistful because there is a feeling that Disney works hard to give us where our hearts just swell with Disney wonder and for some it starts with seeing that bus that Disney shows pictures of in their advertising. Is it a big deal if it's a different bus? Of course not. Will it ruin a trip? Of course not. Will it be more than a blip on your radar? Again, of course not. Is it a little bit disappointing? Sure. I can appreciate that feeling.

OP, you need to realize that the transportation board isn't really the best place for discussions that involve sentiment. This board is VERY matter of fact, here are the rules and how things work. In general, that's very important for the transportation board because in some cases, if somebody has wrong information then their whole trip could be ruined. This really is more of a discussion suited for a community or strategy board since it really is more about that feeling of seeing that bus when you get to the front of the line.

Just to make it clear, I LOVE that feeling so I do totally get what you're saying. I'm fine with whatever bus is there and will always take advantage of DME and appreciate the service, but seeing the DME logo on the bus does just feel a little bit more special.

I did the land/sea package the first three years I went down. You always rode the cruise line bus, no matter whether you went to the cruise or the resort first.

My last several trips I have done all resort weeks.

This past year, I ended up on a cruise line bus and it made me long for going on the cruise again....;)

Great post! :thumbsup2

I'm always a little taken aback by the sentiment (or lack thereof) shown in the Transportation Forum, but as you pointed out it does an excellent job of dispensing factual, important information.

I don't think anyone was dumping on the OP, at least before she complained about hostile posters.

She asked if she was alone in her opinion. Several of us said we appreciate the better service that occurs because Mears is able to supplement the DME fleet. Disagreeing with a poster who asks what others think isn't "dumping" on her.

Complaining about posters who disagree is certainly "dumping"

Sorry, but I disagree. The tone of the initial replies were not just "no, I don't feel that way" but they insinuated the the OP was foolish for feeling the way she did.

:thumbsup2 Perfectly worded...

I know, there's no pixie dust on the Transportation Board but come on guys, lets play nice!!

I would think that posting something about a trip a year ago and suggesting that other people take a taxi, so that her family could have the "right" bus is, at least, "more than a blip on the radar". The fact that her boys are asking her about which bus they are going to ride on a trip that isn't happening for a while, also makes it sound like, for this family, it is more than a "little bit disappointing".

I did read it as complaining and criticizing, but neither of us are the OP, so we don't really know.

I agree with you. I think any post that can be said to have a negative tone appeared after she claimed people were being hostile, when they were just answering her question. Asking a question, then being angry at the answers you are getting, is not playing nice. And how can you blame anyone for taking umbridge at that?:confused3

Okay, I'll fess up. My first reaction? "You can't be serious." I'll also freely admit that that reaction is Not Nice. But, honestly, I just can't see getting worked up over the paint on the outside of the bus. I mean, to each his own, but I put this well behind missing towel animals on the "Not Magical" scale.

I can relate. When My Cousin and I go to WDW, we wont get on a bus (no mater what color) unless it has Michelin Model XGV tires, size 75-R-14.

LAST TIME GOT CRUISE LINE BUS,
NOT GOOD WANTED CRUISE INSTEAD COLD AT CHRISTMAS IN ORLANDP:happytv::happytv:

To the OP...YES! I, too, walk out of the airport and hope that there is a REAL DME bus waiting for us. It's more fun than the plain Mears buses. I am sorry for all of the mean spirted replies you have received. As a previous poster has stated, many of you did not just reply that you didn't feel the same way, you were curt and sarcastic about it. Why even bother replying if you're going to act that way? :confused3

People..let's try to remember that this is a public forum. You may not like the responses given. Rude or insulting posts will not be tolerated. Of course, rudeness and insulting are in the eye of the beholder. So far I have seen no posts that qualify as rude or insulting. Perhaps bordering on sarcastic. But that's about it.
There may very well be a certain population here that just doesn't 'get' why someone would bemoan the fact that they had to board a regular, unmagical Mears bus vs a Mears DME bus. Others may feel the same way....nothing magical about the Mears buses and they want the magic to start as soon as they board a bus to their resort.
There is room for both groups. Try to stay civil.

Is your cousins name Vinny? :rotfl:

Although I will agree with the OP. I have only been on DME once and it was a Mears bus. I was disappointed. Was looking for the DME bus as well. Plus the driver had issues getting the video to work, etc.
