"I want more....and I know I shouldn't" - 2 Food & Wine Festival Trips - 12/10 Complete! Goofy's/STK

Everything looks fabulous!! Especially the Caesar salad and of course the shrimp!!! I think we have that in common!
Love the purple!!!

I could live off of Shrimp every day and die a very happy woman! It was a great meal to have before a race! Filling without being too filling for both of us!

That purple plaid sparkle skirts has to be one of my favorites - probably one of the ones I wear the most!

DH and I ate at Il Mulino in August for the first time and thought it was incredible! Best meal of our trip, and we can't wait to return later this month. The original is in NYC and since that's only 90 minutes from us we plan to go there at some point in the near future.
Your race outfit is adorable :)

Lucky you are only 90 minutes away from the original! I'm sure that one is even better! We hadn't been to Il Mulino in a few years but I'm glad we picked this for our Friday Night dinner! Much better than some of the other Italian Options (although I do still love Tutto Italia!) Hopefully your return trip is as great as your first tirp!

Your shrimp look delicious. I was going to comment it didn't look like a lot, but guess I was wrong. I'm a sucker for all things lemon so I would have been in heaven.

I remember on one of my dining reports - people were outraged about how small a portion was where I was actually completely happy with it. Figured I would comment on it before it happened this time :)

Shrimp were delicious and the lemon sauce was great especially when I put more of the fresh lemon juice on top. Can't get enough lemon!

I think we have the s'mores tart at Starbucks here in the city. I can remember DD ordering it. But can't remember where and which one exactly. Would not have been at Disney as we never go into Starbucks there since it is literally within 2 blocks in every direction from our apt. lol So it had to have been here. Stop in one when you are here soon!!

This looks DELISH!!!!!

That's good that the s'mores tart is a Starbucks thing rather than Disney treat. May have to go inside the store one of these days when I'm craving something sweet! I love a good s'mores! We usually don't do Starbucks much at Disney but sometimes you just want that coffee drink you know you love!

Wine & Dine 10K - Food and Race

3:00AM comes early. My alarm went off and I got ready. What did I have for breakfast? Well, I broke rule #1 of running and had something different than my normal routine! I will tell you those 4 tiny donuts I had tasted really good that early in the morning.

E3BFYuz.jpg

We got on the first bus of the morning at 3:30AM and headed to EPCOT.

Aren’t we cute?

At the race start, we were sad to see that the line for the characters were super long :( so I took a creeper photo.

When the corrals opened, my husband and I parted ways and he went towards the front of his Corral (A because he’s fast) and I chatted with a friend for a bit before heading into Corral C.

Start Line

As I had no training for the last 5 weeks, I was going to take this race rather slow - trying to run the first 5K of it and then pretty much walking the 2nd 5K of it. I mean, I’m slow but I’m never this slow! I also took time to get some non-blurry photos along the way!

Bus!

I got on the bus and headed back to the Swan. Once I was back in the room, I opened the food box. I was so happy to see that the cheddar cheese dip was in there with the chips! After running (err….walking mostly) 6.2 miles! There is nothing that tastes better than salty processed cheddar cheese dip with chips. Then you follow it up with Oreos and I’m happy! I saved the protein bar for later and I knew my husband would eat the applesauce eventually!

Food Box!

Fed. I took a shower (because the Swan doesn’t have bathtubs now….grrr) and we relaxed (and took a 30 minute nap) until we decided to head to the parks!

Brown Derby

We left our room at the Swan around 9:15AM. My husband somehow convinced me to walk to Hollywood Studios instead of the boat (I must really love him) and we slowly made our way there. I’m sure I looked like a hot mess! We had FP+ set up for a couple rides and our lunch reservation.

When we got into the park and headed to Star Tours for our first FP+, I noted that Olaf had a 5 minute wait! I was able to guilt my husband into taking photos with me! Olaf really liked my shirt!

We then headed around the few attractions around Hollywood Studios and eventually went to Brown Derby for our noon reservation! After check in, we were very quickly seated in the Bamboo Room which was nice as it was away from the noise in the main dining room. While we were looking over the menu though, I found a reason to not be happy. Our favorite dish was now off the menu! No more fettuccini alfredo for us! We may have expressed our sadness to our waiter who promised us lots of bread in return as he missed it too (we got like 8 rolls for the 2 of us and we totally ate all of them)

Grief stricken, I needed alcohol. I mean, I just finished 6.2 miles + WALKED to Hollywood Studios after that and walked around the park some. That just deserves alcohol especially with a favorite dish gone. I just got out of my boot literally a week before! I went with a Strawberry Lime Cider. It was delicious. Tasted just like a limeade but I was smart and only had one which was really enough for 2 pints as the bottle was large. I was a very happy Dis_Yoda. My husband stole some of it though :(

He isn’t a good model today

The main problem with the change of the lunch menu was that at this time, my husband was still vegetarian. He wasn’t risking changing his diet when he still had a half marathon to run the next day. This gave him really limited options here. Like really limited. He did not want soup so that took 2 of his 3 options off the menu. So he relented and ordered an appetizer salad. He liked it well enough. It wasn’t super filling but at least it was healthy. The good thing was we had dinner reservations a little over 4 hours from this time, so he would survive.

Local Greens Salad w/ Champagne Vinaigrette - Florida Blueberries, Heirloom Apples, Laura Chenel Goat Cheese, Spiced Candied Pecans

I had the winner dish. My salad had SO MUCH duck on it! I was a very happy girl! I mean, look at that wonderful pile of duck confit? Wouldn’t you be happy? The salad was fine. I didn’t each much of the salad but I made sure I ate all my protein!

UBXbuxM.jpg

Duck Confit Salad - Arugula, Spring Mix, Yellow Pea Tendrils, Watercress, Pickled Vegetables, Blood Orange Gastrique

Will we be back at Brown Derby? Probably but we’re going to skip it next go around, especially since certain options are back now.

Hey, a slow race time is better than no race time and I am so glad you were able to run! Reading the previous report about your girls' trip I was afraid your injury meant you weren't racing. It looks like a fun course!

Wow! I love the salad hubby got, but the duck option looks fabulous!!! I will definitely try to get out of my usual zone and order that one of these times... It's so hard not to get "the usual" when you crave your favorites away from WDW! Although I guess if they took my favorites off the menu I'd be branching out too

Salad looks great but I'm not brave enough to try duck! What a bummer you didn't get your much deserved pasta!!!

Congrats on finishing the 10K despite your injury. A lot of folks wouldn't have even done it. Jason has been dealing with some foot issues too and hasn't ran for at least a month. He has a half coming up in January so he best get on it!

That sucks brown derby changed their menu and removed the one thing you were there for. But at least you were smart enough to drown your sorrows appropriately :-)

Congrats on finishing your race, that's awesome! I wonder why they would take that dish off the menu when, like you said, it's one of their few vegetarian options? What a bummer. Your salad looked good though!

You are right - a slow race time is better than no race time! It was more a walk than a run but at least I finished. I just want to be able to actually race more come Star Wars - Light Side.

I totally have 'usual' at many restaurants across WDW but I think I did well this trip and branched out some. Gotta have a mix between favorites and new items! At least my option turned out to be tasty for me! I probably would have not been a happy person if it ended up being badly prepared or tasteless!

Salad looks great but I'm not brave enough to try duck! What a bummer you didn't get your much deserved pasta!!!

Why are you not brave enough to try duck? Is it because the animal is cute? Don't you know the cuter the animal the tastier the meat? (I'm an awful person but you should know that already)

I think the first time I tried duck was at one of the F&W events like 10 years ago or so...I was surprised by how much I liked it! Since then I crave a well cooked duck!

It is sad when a dish you love goes away - but I know a restaurant is allowed to do that. I don't remember if the chef changed there or not but I'm sure doing the same thing all the time gets boring and you have to switch it up!

I debated on not doing it. The problem was Disney has done away with deferrals and I had already spent the money ($325 + whatever active fees so like $351?) My husband was running the races too so we were going to the weekend no matter what. That meant I was going to pick up my bib and shirts as I paid for them - and since I paid for those - might as well get my medals if possible too right?

It probably was not wise to do both races (I'll get to that update later this week) I've not run this week recovering. When I got my massage yesterday, my therapist (my new regular therapist since my 3 year long relationship one moved away to Orlando) told me she could tell my 'bad' left ankle was swollen. I might have gotten a lecture for being stubborn....It also took longer for my muscle pains to go away than normal...usually its gone in 2 days...this time it took like 4 for soreness + the massage to get rid of this strange knot on the bottom side of my right foot. That knot was something new to me!

Hope your husband's foot issues got away soon and he can get to training for his half in January! We have a half in January too...we need to get training on that as well. I'm not worried about my husband's ability - I just need to get back on the exercise streak since it fell out of habit so much in October.

Alcohol is always a good choice for drowning your sorrows at Disney - at least - not serious sorrows - don't want people thinking I have a problem or something. ;)

Congrats on finishing your race, that's awesome! I wonder why they would take that dish off the menu when, like you said, it's one of their few vegetarian options? What a bummer. Your salad looked good though!

Thank you! I'm happy I finished too! The medal for that race is so adorable so I just had to do it!

No idea why they took it off - but guess they wanted to switch some things up. Of all the restaurants we went too, Brown Derby did have the least options for a vegetarian along with not much willingness to budge from the menu options (which is allowable but I saw they had options at their lounge that were vegetarian - you would think they would have mentioned those to us as well)

I was happy with my salad! So much meat!

La Hacienda de San Angel

When we got back to the room after lunch, we relaxed. We also took a nap. 3AM is a very early wake up call and we would be waking up at 2:30AM the next day! We woke up and around 4:00PM started walking towards EPCOT (again, instead of taking the Boat, why?????????)

EPCOT was a madhouse but that was what I expected it to be as it was a Saturday Afternoon during Festival, so we weren’t surprised. It seemed like a lot of people in that massive crowd were surprised and loudly complained about it though! We trudged through the masses and made our way to Mexico to La Hacienda to check in and were shortly sat in this side front room of the restaurant. I liked this as it was quiet and less echoy than the main room. Our server seemed timid and unsure - either from being new or her personality - we never quite figured that out. I had selected La Hacienda for the meal before the Half Marathon for my husband due to his vegetarianism. I knew he would be very happy with the options here and would get the fuel he needed for the race!

I started with a cocktail. The race the next day wasn’t really going to be a race for me. I knew there was absolutely no way I was going to finish. I might as well enjoy some tequila! This was a very fresh tasting margarita as you could tell the lime juice was newly pressed. The tequila was also smooth! Very much a traditional margarita which I’m ok with!

DDTjLCJ.jpg

Dragones Top Shelf - Casa Dragones Blanco Served w/ Grand Marnier Orange Liqueur, Agave Nectar and Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice

When we went to La Hacienda last time, we got this as an appetizer and finished it off with no problem. We failed at it this time around but we remembered we had 2 other people helping us last time around! You can’t go wrong with melted cheese with peppers. Technically, it wasn’t truly vegetarian though even with the chorizo removed but my husband didn’t pry more into it and happily ate his cheese without questions. (I’m guessing they add something to help make it melty)

RMauEzj.jpg

Queso Fundido - Melted Cheese w/ Poblano and Serrano Peppers, Avocado-Tomatillo Sauce & Flour Tortillas

La Hacienda has a separate Vegetarian Menu from the main menu - there are 3 different entree options. My husband went with the cheese empanadas as you can tell, the two of us, really like cheese.

YDtEZqn.jpg

Empanadas de Queso - Cheese Empanadas Served w/ Rice & Beans

If you’ve gone to the Food & Wine Festival before, you know the next dish because it is what is always one of the options at the Mexico Booth. I’ve established I LOVE shrimp and thus, its the best option for me! I love these tacos.

WKqBTFO.jpg

Tacos de Camarones - Fried Shrimp, Chipotle-Lime Aioli, Cabbage, Lime and Salada Verde, All Served Over Flour Tortillas

We were also served two types of rice (the super green one was the vegetarian rice, the other one isn’t b/c of chicken broth) along with beans. I had none of them. My husband devoured both of the bowls of rice though along with most of the beans.

Rice & Beans

So while we were enjoying our quiet dinner in the front offshoot of the restaurant, we got to see the rudest group of people come in. A group of 4 elderly couples came in together and were sat in our area for our waitress, proceeded to complain and just get up and then demand to be moved about about 10 minutes because they didn’t like it as it was too enclosed (?!) after already being really really rude to our waitress. You couldn’t have figured that out before being sat and ruining the table for the lady? I felt so bad for our waitress!

My husband and I were both really happy with our entrees - although we only ate half of them. All the chips, salsa and melty cheese at the beginning really filled us up and we didn’t want to over do it. I think our waitress was stressed and worried we didn’t like the food but we assured her it had nothing to do with the food but rather our eyes being larger than our stomachs and not wanting to eat ourselves silly quite yet (that will be after the races folks!)

We paid our bill and headed back to the hotel. I refused to walk back and took the boat. My husband did beat me back to the room by like 10 minutes but my feet thank me for my laziness!

At the room, we got ready for the next day. I figured my Foolish Mortal tank top would be perfect for the race as I was stupid to even be attempting to start this thing. I was just going to see what I could do and if I needed to quit, I would. This shirt isn't a tech tank which meant it wasn't the best for holding sweat though...

We watched the latest episode of The Exorcist off of Fox On Demand and I was totally asleep by 8:30pm. We were thankful it was also daylight savings time so we got an extra hour of sleep!

Hope your ankle is doing ok. Definitely sounds like laying off of it is the way to go. Out of curiosity, what half are you doing in January? Only reason I ask is I know you're in FL already and Jason is doing the Key West half. Besides Disney Key West is my happy place, so I can't wait for our grown-ups only vacay.

La Hacienda food looks amazing. We've never done it since they don't offer the TiW discount, which makes no sense since I thought they were owned by the same people as San Angel who do take it. But what was up with that elderly people? Sounds like an odd complaint to me

You are hilarious! I have no idea why I have never tried duck? I grew up on a farm, my dad use to hunt them, I like Bambi and thumper.....not sure why I've never tried Donald? I guess I'll make that my mission! Lol! I'll get back to you on this!

Now the margarita and shrimp tacos at la hacienda are right up my alley!

Rude people make me so mad! Jerks!!

Oh man that app at La Hacienda looks great! And actually your husbands entree sounds really good, although I'm far from a vegetarian. We've never eaten there but I may have to look at the menu again, but as @kastoney said it does stink they don't accept TiW
I love your Foolish Mortals tank! FYI I also love The Exorcist series ::yes::

I was super bummed Brown Derby got rid of the fettuccini too- that was soooo good! I am not a fan of the apparent trend of moving to all day menus. So I have to ask... The bamboo room? I've been there quite a few times and all I can picture is one big dining room. Where is it?

Thanks for the La Hacienda review. I booked there for a Candlelight Processional package next month and was second guessing the choice. It looks yummy!!

Congratulations on the 10K and attempting the half - regardless of the outcome. You're inspiring. I need to get off my butt but oy those 3am wake up calls do not sound fun. Nor does limiting my alcohol intake, LOL.

My ankle is doing better. My next planned run is on Tuesday for 3.5 miles. I'm going to do it on a Treadmill to make sure all is well (more even surface and less likely to injure)

We're doing Star Wars Rebel Challenge in January - we're going to be doing that every year as my husband wants to maintain Legacy (aka - if you do a race every year from inaugural you start getting special stuff starting at 5 years) We're planning on keeping that for both of the Star Wars Races at Disneyland & Disney World. I can totally see Key West being a happy place! We don't go there often - we live in Naples and it is a happy place enough :)

Not having a TiW discount does suck but I just try to block that out when we eat there. It isn't some place that we would go every trip but it was a perfect choice before a race especially with my husband. They are owned by the same people at San Angel but I guess they figured they don't need the TiW to lure people in or something!

You are hilarious! I have no idea why I have never tried duck? I grew up on a farm, my dad use to hunt them, I like Bambi and thumper.....not sure why I've never tried Donald? I guess I'll make that my mission! Lol! I'll get back to you on this!

I try to be funny :) Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Disney is a good place to try Donald at least at many of their signature restaurants as they know how to cook it properly and not screw it up! The festival booths are also a good place as they are a cheaper buy-in to trying something new!

Margaritas and Shrimp Tacos should be everyones alley!

Oh man that app at La Hacienda looks great! And actually your husbands entree sounds really good, although I'm far from a vegetarian. We've never eaten there but I may have to look at the menu again, but as @kastoney said it does stink they don't accept TiW

You can't go wrong with melty cheese! Although, if you don't eat it quickly, it does get kinda congealed and loses temperature but congealed luke warm cheese is better than no cheese. My husband's entree was good! He was really happy with it. No discount sucks but at least I got to use my TiW most other places we ate!

I love the The Exorcist series but being that its on Fox - I know that means it probably won't get a renewal or it will only last 2 seasons max. They seem to not be kind to science fiction or horror. Pretty sure Fringe only lasted as long as it did since the main character's uncle was really high up in the Food Chain at Fox.

I was super bummed Brown Derby got rid of the fettuccini too- that was soooo good! I am not a fan of the apparent trend of moving to all day menus. So I have to ask... The bamboo room? I've been there quite a few times and all I can picture is one big dining room. Where is it?

I don't like all day menus either but Brown Derby did that years ago to make people feel like they are getting their '2 credits' worth on the dining plan, probably the same reason Le Cellier does it too. The bamboo room is a small room in the back corner of the restaurant. If you've ever been in the Starring Rolls Courtyard, it is at the corner where it ends and the Brown Derby Lounge Entrance is. It only has enough seating for about 16 people max. I'm not sure they use it often for regular tables but I know they use it for special events like wine dinners and things. There is a door there so if its closed, you would never know it exists!

Enjoy your Candlelight Processional there!

I make up for the alcohol intake - don't you worry ;) 3AM wake up calls do suck but you learn how to adjust - my husband and I are lucky that we usually are people that go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 5AM so shifting that to 8/9pm and 3AM is less strain on us than others. When we have done the races in Disneyland - its actually like sleeping in for us because of the time changes!

We all start somewhere - I"m totally slow and a back of the packer but we have fun back there! Star Wars Dark Side still has spots ;)

Wine & Dine Half Marathon - Food & Race

2:30AM is a very early wake up call even if you get that extra hour of sleep! Don’t let anyone tell you any differently. I got ready. My breakfast was very similar to the day before. Powdered donuts are very tasty! I also grabbed the Clif Protein Bar - Mint Chocolate from the Box the day before so I could eat that when we arrived at the corrals. I decided to go with that one over the nut butter one given to us with our shirts since I knew the Mint Chocolate one was the safe choice as we buy those at home - my husband eats them for lunch sometimes and I’ve been known to eat them for a meal when in a hurry.

At the corrals, we took a selfie b/c that is what you do when you get to the Pre-Race area if you forget to do it on the bus!

pb1P9bs.jpg

Race Selfie!

We also realized that the lines for the characters were way better than the day before! This could be because it was 3:15AM and not a lot of people had arrived yet. We got in line for Remy! I also got a decent photo of Lumiere when we got to the front of the Remy line!

We hung out for a while. At 4:15AM, he left me to head to his corral (B - b/c he’s fast) and I met with a group of friends I’ve met through the Disboards to get a group shot!

vIaMnDm.jpg

All the girls!

And then we all headed to our respective corrals. 3 of us were in the same corral so we headed to G together to chill towards the right side before it was on turn to start. For the initial corrals - they start off each of them pretty quickly! We were started before we knew it!

Mile 1

After Mile 1, I started getting a new pain. One I had never experienced before - a pain alongside the bottom right side of my arch of my right foot (the recently healed one) I was really happy to see the Medical Tent and decided to get some pain reliever and keep on going and hope it would go away. While I may not finish this race, I wanted to make it through Animal Kingdom at least and get some new photos! They mark your hand so people know if you had medicine or not later along the course...

Not much else happened between Mile 1 and 2. I just kept to my right side of the road and kept moving along.

Mile 2

After Mile 2, we got to see some Rave Dancers with whips and things. That didn’t excite me much as that was never really my scene.

I slowed way down as I approached Mile 3. I decided I would just walk from now on and enjoy the course. I would get however far I would get!

D010AD5.jpg

Mile 3

As I was walking towards Animal Kingdom in the parking lot, I apparently had a perfect ‘Dis_Yoda’ judgmental face moment as a runner pushed through myself and another runner on the far right side. Behind me, I hear a very familiar voice saying “There is that look I love” or something similar. I’m not sure exactly. I was happy to see it was @Tankgirl making those comments along with another person we know here from the Disboards who was also walking. @Tankgirl was actually trying to finish the race and the other one knew she wasn’t going to finish as she was already in pain. I told her my plan had now become - get through Animal Kingdom - visit Medical Tent. She liked that plan and hung around with me. After some amusing conversations I’m sure some other people hated (Underwear Selection or Non-Use while running, when your monthly cycle hits on a race weekend (here’s a hint - it sucks!), how during Light Side & Dark Side I text message @Tankgirl while I’m soaking in a bathtub full of Epsom Salts and that some people think that is odd) There were no children there around (you have to be at least 14 to run a half at Disney and a 14 year old is more than old enough for those conversations anyway) @Tankgirl left us and continued on her path to finishing the races! Go her!

I instead had conversations with the other friend and took photos like so...

And I have better pictures of my playing with Chip & Dale when they were lonely in the EPCOT building during the rain so a driveby was fine for me!

Chip & Dale

Now we were officially through all of Animal Kingdom and my body was telling me...YOU ARE STUPID! WHY DID YOU DO THIS CRAZY LADY?!!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?! I told my buddy with me this and she was feeling similar. My ‘good-recently healed’ right ankle felt like it hated me - my right knee wasn’t happy and my chronically ‘bad’ left ankle was slightly not happy. We knew the next medical tent had to be coming up as I had pulled up the course map on my phone and knew it was shortly after mile 6.

Mile 6

I was very happy to see Mile 6. I was also happy to see that the 10K marker was at the edge of the turnaround point so it would be really easy for someone to pick out if someone was course-cutting by skipping this turnaround point on the course (about .6 miles of the course was an out and back) While we were at the end of the return part of the turn around towards the end of it, we saw the dreaded ‘balloon’ ladies (although they weren’t dreaded to me) and you could tell people were rushing by us to get way ahead of them. We also got to see what a hard sweep look likes as the people leaving the backroads of Animal Kingdom were getting hard swept into the buses at that time. We trudged ahead and made it to the medical tent and said - we couldn’t continue and needed ice! My right ankle was very very happy to get the ice on it when the medical person wrapped it up for me!

Ice Time!

I realized I didn’t stop my watch right away but here is what it was when I remembered to. If I thought my 10K time was my Worst Time Ever, pretty sure this has it beat!

Half of a Half Marathon Finish Time

So we waited until we were picked up to be taken to the end. Since the sweepers were closing off the course at the end of Animal Kingdom, they thought it was wiser just to make our Medical Tent wait until that bus could take us along for the ride outside of those at the tent that needed more serious medical attention (like the poor lady that was passing out for dehydration and another whose body was going into a shock like state from being overheated + not having enough fuel in your system) I was fine with waiting. My husband had finished while I was sitting here - he finished at 2:07:22 - so better than Princess but his 2nd worst half time so he wasn’t happy. (His best half time is 2:01:05)

Being on the sweeper bus was an interesting time. There was the group of us from the medical tent (no, crazy woman, even if I had skipped the 10K yesterday, there was probably no way I could have finished today since I literally hadn’t trained in like 5 weeks!) and there was the group that got swept before Mile 6. Some of those individuals were obviously very upset and crying. Others were morose. Me? Well, I was that annoying, cheerful person. My friend and I were talking and being well happy. No point in being down on knowing when to quit in order to not hurt yourselves more. I took pride when I did make a sad person laugh (at my own idiocy but whatever) but I still think some people on that bus wished I would have shut up. Oh well!

We were taken to the finish line area - but post finish line area. If you ever been in the rundisney post race chutes - you’ve seen tents labeled things like “Tigger” and were like what are those? Well - the “Tigger” tent is the tent they put those individuals that didn’t finish the race through. You are given your half medal (not your challenge medal) along with your race food box and drinks and sent along the way. If you need minor medical attention, it is also there for you. Now you know!

I walked to my bus and took it back to the Swan. Someone on the bus stopped me when they saw me bib and told me I forgot my challenge medal and I told them, nope, couldn’t get one of those as I didn’t finish and again I got a strange look in return.

I’m happy I listened to my body and quit when I needed to quit. If I had kept pushing it - I would have ended up more injured and possibly out for more RunDisney races!

I got back to the room the earliest ever for a half! 8:15AM! I took my shower (I really wanted a tub though!) and settled in to enjoy my food box. Cheese & Chips and Oreos for me! It was then nap time as well for a little bit. You can’t go wrong with those items after a half of a half!

Great job on the 10K!

That's a shame they took fettucine alfredo off the menu at Brown Derby. We haven't been there yet but I love salads like the one your husband had, and the duck confit looks delicious too.

I love me some cheese (and shrimp, love those tacos). Looks like La Hacienda was a win!

Congrats on the half!! I agree no shame whatsoever in listening to your body and anyone swept still got a lot further than everyone (like me) who was still sleeping!!!

And now with running over you can really enjoy some food & wine!!!!

Wow I was a bunch of updates behind! I remember seeing your martini from Flying Fish on FB. I had just finished a grueling rehearsal and that spurred me to begin my evening with my favorite version of a Martini.

Your dinner at Flying Fish looked great those are the exact dishes I would order from there. I'm glad to hear your husband is reincorporating chicken and fish into his diet.

Your meal at Tiffin's looked really good, I may have to consider that place when we ever get back.

I admire you for sticking with the races even without training. I know that I wouldn't have that much conviction.

Il Mulino looked like a good meal, we just never seem to get to any of the restaurants at the Swolphin. I will definitely not be staying there without tubs in the room!

I know I've missed a few updates, but I'm finally caught up here. Last weekend threw me for a loop and I've spent all week trying to catch up everywhere.

Awesome job going as far as you did! Your race convo cracked me up bc it's the kind of thing I'd be chatting about with a run friend. I loved your pics! Country bears and Meeko! Never saw them?.....must be I was in the zone! I wish we would've bumped into each other somewhere!!! Hopefully next time!

Aw Meeko's so cute! You get to meet a lot of awesome characters during the during the races.

We watch the Exorcist too. I don't expect it to last long either, but I'm enjoying it.
