"I Wanna See My Castle!" October 2013 TR *COMPLETE* **NEW TR LINK!!** 7/3

Wonderful pictures of you guys with Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. And I just can't believe what a young man Paxton looks like in those pictures! He is just too cute!

Thanks! They were some of my favorites from the night! I seem to be saying that about everything though. :rotfl: Our MNSSHP night was just so awesome!

I can't believe how big he is getting either... They really do grow up so fast!

Day 6 Continued: Sunday October 27th

We had just left Princess Fairytale Hall after an awesome meet with Rapunzel & Flynn Rider, so we were on a bit of a high after that! We saw that the line for the 7 Dwarfs was not terribly long, but we weren't really keen on waiting in that line anyway, so DH just got a picture of them, probably while DS and I made a pit stop in the nearby restrooms.

But it was nearing 7:45 and we definitely wanted a good spot for the first parade, so we headed off in the direction of Frontierland. We ended up finding a great spot between the rope for the parade and the rope for the churro cart line behind us, so it was really perfect positioning. A front row seat, and no one could squeeze in behind us!

Since we had a bit of time before the parade would get to us, I left DH there with the stroller to set up his tripod and take some test shots while I took DS to the nearby Trick or Treat stop in front of the Liberty Square Riverboat.

I wanted to make sure I got a picture of his first Trick or Treating of the night! This had been absolutely low on my priority list, because I wasn't there for the candy. I actually figured we would really just ToT after DS had crashed out in the stroller later in the night since we really couldn't do much else once that happened. But we found it surprisingly easy to fit the ToT'ing in with our party touring. Even the lines that looked pretty long moved quickly!

After getting some candy to snack on during the parade, we headed back to our spot and settled DS in his stroller with his light up pumpkin that I think my FIL had given him as part of his birthday gift or something.

It ended up being the perfect accessory for the parade, and DS loved lighting it up while we waited. It came in handy again when I was texting back and forth with Dave (DaveInFallsChurch) about where he was standing for the parade, and he thought he could see DH and his tripod from his spot down the street. DH held up the pumpkin light and Dave was able to see where we were standing. It made it very easy for him to meet up with us once the parade was over, but for now, we all stayed put because...The Headless Horseman was coming!!

Just a few minutes after that, we could hear the music starting and we knew it was finally here. We were going to see Boo To You! We had watched the parade when the DIS did a livestream of the first party, but it was definitely NOTHING compared to seeing the parade in person!!! Hands down, my favorite parade I have ever seen in Disney World. HANDS DOWN! So get ready, because I couldn't narrow down my photos, so you are about to see A LOT OF BOO TO YOU PICTURES!!!

Boo
To you
A Trick
Or Treat
For you
That's Boo
It's You
Know Who
A Boo to you and you and you and you
Happy Halloween

Boo to you and you
It's not so very scary
It's really not so scary
Boo to you
Boo boo boo
Boo to you

High 5's from Pooh Bear!

This picture was hard for DH to get with the tripod, but Eeyore leaned down to give DS a kiss on the head!

Best moment of the parade had to be when Peter Pan & Wendy passed by! Peter caught sight of DH and yelled to Wendy, "Hey, he looks like Michael!" It was absolutely amazing to hear him recognize DH's costume like that on a dark Frontierland street when they are running around and performing! DH was recording the parade on the point and shoot, and even though it stopped running after 10 minutes and didn't get the whole parade, it did get that!

We're beggars, blighters, ne'er-do-well cads
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho
Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho
Beggars blighters ne'er-do-well cads
Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho
Happy Halloween

Day 6 Continued: Sunday October 27th

The pirates section was really cool, but I was excited to see the Haunted Mansion section of the parade! I love that they have the caretaker and his dog walking around, that just makes you feel like all of these characters came straight out of the ride right off the bat!

Ghost riders in the sky
Happy Halloween

Yippy kay aye
Yippy Kay oh
Ghost riders in the sky
Happy Halloween

Boo boo boo boo boo boo boo to you

Their little outfits are so cute!

Welcome home to the night
When you're sure to get a fright
From us you'll get a trick and not a treat
It may sound kind of sappy
But it makes us really happy
To scare you
So boo to you and you

No we're not being mean
It's just part of our routine
We'll scare you and we'll spook you just for fun
As Halloween arises
We wear up our surprises
So fun
We do to scare you

So three photos of the Evil Queen may not seem necessary, but seriously, she just looks fab in every one. How can I choose between them?!?

Reliving that through the pictures makes me miss Halloween and the party so much!!! I am really going to miss going to Disney in the fall this year when October comes!

As soon as it was over, Dave made his way down to us and we had a quick introduction as we all met for the first time! We had been conversing with him a lot prior to the trip and finalizing plans for us to meet up, so it was great to finally meet him in person! After a brief conversation, DH and Dave headed off to look for a spot to set up their tripods for the fireworks in front of Crystal Palace. But since we still had some time before Celebrate the Magic would be starting, I decided to take DS to Trick or Treat a bit more before meeting up with them there.

Since we were already in Frontierland, I took him through the ToT trail in the Splash Mountain outdoor queue. The trails were great because instead of just one candy stop, you can walk through and hit several stops all at once and really load up on candy! I remember we saw a family with Drew Brees jerseys on as their costumes, and now that I think about it, I recall a LOT of people wearing Saints jerseys that night! Kinda funny to think about now that at one time, we had thought of doing the same theme for our costumes!

Next, we went through the candy stop in the Pirates queue. There was a HUGE line outside that I thought was to meet Captain Jack, but it turns out it was just for some cornhole game where you won a little treasure chest or something? We passed that right up and continued on once we had gotten our candy.

We started to pass what ended up being the character spot for Baloo and King Louis just as they were coming out for a set. I got excited because we had missed Baloo at AK and now I could still get him to sign DS's book! I asked DS if he wanted to stop and he said no. Well, I didn't want to force him and have him throw a fit, so we didn't stop. BUT, we still got to see them bust out their best Michael Jackson moves when Thriller came on as they were still walking to their spot! It was hilarious seeing King Louis with those big long arms throwing them in the air to do the dance from the video!!! :lmao: Unfortunately, I couldn't get my phone out quick enough to record them and hit the red button to start recording just as they stopped.

Instead, we made one more candy stop, this time inside of the Enchanted Tiki Room!

I did apologize to that guy after I took the picture for flashing in his face! lol I felt bad, but I really wanted to show that we were actually INSIDE of the attraction Trick or Treating! I thought that was so cool.

After that, we headed across the bridge to meet up with DH and Dave at the spot they had claimed. While we were waiting, we struck up conversations with those around us. The one that really sticks out was the grandma who asked if I worked for Disney or was just in costume. I told her it was just a costume, and she said, "Oh, I thought you might be the Tink that flies out of the castle before the fireworks!" DH and I got a great laugh over this later when we were traveling home and talking about all of the fun we had on the trip. I commented how great his costume was and how much attention he had gotten and he said, "Yeah, but yours was so good that old lady thought you were in the show!" Maybe you just had to be there, but we were dying laughing as we reminisced about that conversation!

After a few minutes of waiting (and eating lots of candy), it was just about time for Celebrate the Magic to begin!

UP NEXT: Happy Hallowishes!!

A quick note about our May trip, which is getting super close! Last night, we got some Mickey Mail...Our Magic Bands!

DS was immediately excited to see that we had chosen red for him, and wanted to try his on.

It was pretty perfect that he just happened to be wearing a Mickey shirt that day too. :rotfl: I really want to like and appreciate the bands, so I'm just hoping that ours don't give us any trouble opening doors or more importantly, letting us into the park! It seems like they have gotten some of those kinks worked out since the beginning of the year, so I hope they work well for us and we don't have to spend any time straightening anything out at guest relations since our time in the parks is so short.

Bot that Tiki Room trick or treat spot would've gone a long way towards making me actually LIKE the party. The parade was pretty awesome even if we ended up having to stake a spot way early for the late parade. DD doesn't even remember it.

Ahh yes, I loved the trick or treating. And the lines really do move quickly. Yeah, I wanted candy!!

Headless Horseman. Real horse. Does it get any cooler than that?

OMG from a person who is not a parade person, I LOVE BOO TO YOU!!!! I do not understand the chicken part, but I don't care. I LOVE THIS PARADE. I for one am absolutely delighted you didn't pick and choose the photos. I loved them all.

Awesome that you had a DISmeet with Dave. I know he and DH must've loved hanging out and sharing photographer stories. :goodvibes

I guess that means I'll be getting my bands soon! :cool1: Cynthia has a customized special AP magic band but I don't. boo! Maybe next time I get an AP!

I knew your pictures were going to be fabulous and they did not fail to please. I knew from the headless horseman on I was going to see a real parade. Denny and I are definitely going to the party THIS October. He has seen it once and I have been there 3 times. So excited to be going back!

So funny that the lady thought you were the real think. When I dressed up as one of the cousins with Cynthia and Pat we were recognized by a lot of people and it was so fun when people called us by our names (April, May, & June).

Great update!

Great meet with Snow! I don't love her, but my last meet with her was really good, and it sounds like she had a great interaction with you guys.

I met that same friend of Eugene's! He was perfect, oh my gosh. And that tiara princess:

The parade photos are awesome, and that's so cool that Peter recognized DH's costume!

Whaaaat I want to go inside the Tiki Room to trick or treat! So cool.

If it's any consolation, we had zero problems with our bands in November. We were always able to get into our room or into the park.

Great update! Your pictures of the parade are so good. Thanks for sharing them. I can't wait to see the parade for myself someday. It looks like a lot of fun! I think it's so cool to spot the rare characters even if you can't meet them and they are on the parade (I'm guessing anyway - I've never seen Rabbit or Kanga!)

I love that you were in Frontierland for the parade and got so many pictures. That's where I was for the Once Upon a Christmastime parade so it brings back memories of being at a party and catching a parade.

However, for our MNSSHP we actually got a spot front row on Street, so it's interesting to see the parade from elsewhere. It almost feels different with the different backdrops.

Also trick or treating was the best. Except, wasn't the Tiki Room where they were giving out Craisins? I don't remember, somewhere they were and as a non-cranberry person, it was such a let down.

And yaaaaaaay Magic Bands! Marie put down her Canadian address this time so we aren't going to be getting ours prior to our May trip, we'll have to pick them up at Disney. But you getting yours points to how close it is!

Sorry you missed it! It was a lot of fun getting to actually walk through the attraction building to Trick or Treat instead of just through the queue.

The parade was seriously my favorite Disney parade I have ever seen! I thought the Christmas party parade was pretty awesome when we saw it in 2009, but Boo to You blew it away!

Ahh yes, I loved the trick or treating. And the lines really do move quickly. Yeah, I wanted candy!!

It ended up being a good thing that we went trick or treating at the party, but that story will be later on in the TR! Thankfully though, yes, the lines did move quickly, even the ones that looked super long.

The Headless Horseman was AMAZING.

The chicken part is bizarre, but that doesn't take away from the amazingness that is Boo to You! Seems most people are in agreement that it's a Disney parade at its finest. :thumbsup2 Glad you enjoyed them all!

Dave and DH definitely had a good time talking photography and equipment. :goodvibes Got a little boring for me, but at the same time, I know DH was happy because he sure doesn't get to talk photography much with me since it sounds like a foreign language to me!

I guess that means I'll be getting my bands soon! :cool1: Cynthia has a customized special AP magic band but I don't. boo! Maybe next time I get an AP!

Great update!

You definitely should! A Facebook friend who is arriving the day before us got her MBs the day before we got ours, so they have been pretty prompt in sending them, it seems like.

Glad you enjoyed the pictures! They definitely gave DH a headache editing them, so he will love seeing that everyone appreciates them. How exciting that you and Denny will be going to a party this year! I'm so disappointed that we skipped them for so long, especially since we won't be able to see one this year.

Great meet with Snow! I don't love her, but my last meet with her was really good, and it sounds like she had a great interaction with you guys.

It was definitely a great interaction with Snow even though she's not my favorite. She was spot on that night!

I was so impressed with that friend of Eugene, he was really amazing even though I have seen photos of other friends who look more like the movie Flynn. I actually found him on Instagram and follow him now.

Peter calling out DH's costume was the best moment of the parade, which was so amazing already!

That's really great to hear that you had a good experience with the MBs. I hope we do too! That's really my biggest fear right now with the whole MM+ being in place for the first time for one of our trips.

Glad you enjoyed the pictures! DH had a heck of a time editing them, so I know he will like seeing all the love for them in the comments.

Seeing rare characters in the parade is always a favorite of mine too!

I used to think Main Street was the only way to see the parades, but I'm a total Frontierland convert now. It's so much easier to get there closer to parade time and still find a pick of good spots instead of having to stake one out so far in advance on Main Street!

I don't remember getting any Craisins anywhere, so the Tiki Room must have had candy too. :confused3

That's a bummer you won't get the MBs in advance, but your trip is still getting closer, so yay! :yay:

Oooo, Oooo, I was there! I was there! :goodvibes :rotfl:

That was a fun parade! And next time I'm going to stake out a spot where you were because the lighting seems to be a 100 times better than the black hole I picked out. :rotfl:

I had no idea that the trick or treating station is INSIDE the Tiki Room. Our kids are going to flip out when they see this when we go in October! So awesome!

Yay for trick or treating!

Great shots of the headless horseman! Boo to You is such a great parade!! How awesome that DS got some interaction with Pooh & Eeyore, AND that Peter recognized DH's costume :)

I loved the Tiki Room TOT spot, it was definitely cool to be inside the attraction.

The parade looks great! I'd really love to get there to see that sometime!!! That's really cool that Peter noticed your DH along the parade route. You guys really did have great costumes, but the lady who thought Tink was just hanging out by Crystal Palace before her flight... :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

:woohoo: Yes! It's so fun reading about your encounters with other DISers in their TRs, isn't? I have really enjoyed reading the other side of our meet-ups with you & MEK. :goodvibes

The parade was SO amazing! And the spot was pretty good, though DH did a lot of grumbling about the darkness when he was editing. :rotfl: For actually watching though, it was a pretty great spot.

Yes, walking inside the Tiki Room to ToT was awesome! They even had the birds kind of shuffling around like they were just resting. Loved it! I'm sure the kids will too when you go! So jealous that y'all are headed to the party again this year. I wish we could say the same! I hope it's just as awesome of a night as we had!!

Great pics! :)

Thanks!

Yay for trick or treating!

Boo to You is Disney at its absolute best, in my opinion! DS loves getting a little attention from the characters during the parades, so I know he loved that. :goodvibes And that moment with Peter was just too perfect! At that moment, I had wished even more that we'd been able to meet Peter before party time.

Being inside the Tiki Room was so cool! Definitely glad we were able to hit that ToT spot during the party. DH was bummed when I told him about it later and he'd missed out on it.

You definitely need to! It's amazing! I had read that over and over on other TRs, but you need to see it to believe how incredible of a parade it is. Oh man, that old lady...:lmao: She was so sweet, but honestly, my $10 costume in no way looked like it could be the real Tink that flies out of the castle!!

Amazing photos as usual!!! I am so hoping i can figure out how to get such great photos! This post reminds me to pack the tripod though!

Glad ToTing was so much fun, and going into the Tiki room is so neat!!

Yay for new magic bands!! So fun to have the trip coming up so quickly!

Thanks, Lauren! Yeah, DH has become kind of the camera pack mule now that he needs to bring several lenses and the tripod. That's the sacrifices to getting good pictures, though, I suppose!

Trick or Treating in MK was so much more fun than I would have guessed. :goodvibes

My aunt and uncle will be there with their little ones the same weekend as us, and my aunt called me last night just to gush. Only three weeks to go now!! I'm sure y'all are getting excited for DL too!
