"I Wanna See My Castle!" October 2013 TR *COMPLETE* **NEW TR LINK!!** 7/3

Tomorrowland is definitely a nice place to be when everyone is readying up for the fireworks or the MSEP.

The interactive queues are really an amazing idea. The kiddos stay entertained so much easier. I would rather have that then when they ask you "can I play with your phone?"

I have not been in Princess Fairytale hall yet! I have to make sure we go on our next trip. I wanted to on our last one, it just didn't work out.

What a priceless interaction! Isn't that always how it works, that you don't catch the best part on film?

Fun night at MK! Love DH's pictures of the Tangled area and Fantasyland.

It's such a bummer that the FP+ line bypasses the portait room! But I guess the sacrifice you have to make if you don't want to wait in the usually long line! DS looks so cute with Cinderalla and Aurora, glad he got some good interactiion!

Enjoy your busy weekend :goodvibes

What a fun night! I bet it was awesome for Paxton to have so many new experiences that he enjoyed so much!

Hahaha, sometimes I wonder how people even enjoy my reports when half my pictures are so awful. Compared to mine, yours are fantastic!

Fairytale Hall really does look pretty. Those interactions sound absolutely adorable. :)

What a great update! It looks like you guys had a ton of fun that night!

Paxton looks so cute playing Buzz!

Your DH is really talented, I love all the nightime shots he was able to get!

Even those of us without kids enjoy the interactive queues, to play ourselves or to be entertained by other people's kids :rotfl:

What a wonderful Princess meet and greet. The photos came out great! Good idea taking a video of the interaction, I always forget what happens.

I don't see what is wrong with your Pooh pictures. Those are better than most of my ride pictures. Which is why I never have any. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

I'm glad that Paxton was staying strong that night and ready to meet princesses. I take it that the new princess m&g is like the one in Storybook Circus? 2 lines to meet the different princesses instead of one line to meet all 4? :headache: :faint: :sad2:

Honestly, one of my Disney bucket list items is to get a picture of Buzz where his face actually shows up. Good job!!

Hehe, those interactive queues aren't just enjoyed by parents, lol.

Yeah, it's always a trade off using FP. Less wait, but you miss out on stuff too. I prefer the no wait though.

I've never been big on these two princesses either, but since Aurora changed her dress, I certainly like her more. And just wait until Maleficent comes out. Her popularity is gonna sky-rocket I think.

Fun with the princesses, he looks like he just had a blast...which makes you have a blast with him!

Great update.

Love the tangled nighttime shots, I have GOT to spend some time there in May, we just breezed through it/next to it this last trip.

Paxton is such a cutie! watch out mama making all the girls smile!:lmao: I am so glad my DS went to meet them. I was worried since he was a boy but he loves rapunzel and she gavhim the biggest kiss. He also loves the Frozen sisters and already told me he wants to meet them. Lord, please let that shorter!!

Hi,
Followed you over from someones tr (Rob, Mary Ellen,) and it is a great report. Love all the pics.

Looking forward to reading more.

The joys of parenthood...giving up your gun on Buzz for the enjoyment of your kid.

Those are some great pictures of Paxton with the princesses. He seemed to enjoy the one on one interaction and their attention.

MK really needed that backstage area to help with the nighttime crowds. Glad you guys were able to go through there and make it out before the masses. It would've been terrible to get caught in that when you didn't even watch the fireworks.

So true! I was never very good at Buzz, so it doesn't bother me to give up the gun there. Now TSM...That's a bit tougher to hand over!

He definitely did enjoy the princesses! He's never seen any of the older princess movies, but luckily he doesn't seem to care that he doesn't know them from anything other than inside the parks.

I've heard of people leaving that way before, but never done it myself, so that was great. We NEVER would have gotten out before the end of Wishes without them opening up the backstage area!

Tomorrowland is definitely a nice place to be when everyone is readying up for the fireworks or the MSEP.

It totally emptied out! So that was a nice surprise because we hadn't even ventured into Tomorrowland yet really except to have lunch on DS's birthday earlier in the week.

YES! We have resorted to the phone when necessary, but I'd much rather DS have something to entertain him in the actual queue instead.

PFT is really beautiful! I'm glad the princesses have a really regal meeting space now. I could kick myself for turning the camera off! I was usually the one videoing and juggling the autograph book, so sometimes that meant cutting the video short. :(

Fun night at MK! Love DH's pictures of the Tangled area and Fantasyland.

Enjoy your busy weekend :goodvibes

It was a really fun night, and so different from what we have been doing lately with DS! Usually we are either there to watch the parade and fireworks or leaving early if we aren't watching them. It might not seem late to most people but with a toddler, that was definitely a late night for us!

Yeah, I'd rather have the short line and miss the pretty queue. I wasn't too bummed about it because I knew for MNSSHP we'd be in the regular queue. Just surprised me when I noticed it using the FPs that night.

That is one thing I didn't expect when we decided to take Paxton, that every trip would open up something that isn't new to the parks but is new to him! It's so fun that even on his 3rd trip, we are still doing things he has never done before and watching him experience them for the first time.

Aw, thank you! DH has worked hard on his photography and editing skills the past couple years. I think going through the pictures he takes each trip inspires him to do even better the next trip!

They were really great. Definitely worth staying late in the park for!!

Great update! :)

Thanks!

What a wonderful Princess meet and greet. The photos came out great! Good idea taking a video of the interaction, I always forget what happens.

We really did! It was so fun finally getting to see a park fully at night without worrying about getting back for bedtime.

Thank you! He has really tried to better himself every trip to take the best pictures he can! This trip was definitely some of his best yet.

Good point! I definitely love seeing DS have a chance to interact with other kids when the queue is full and lots of kids are playing. It's so fun to watch them get excited over everything as they try it out!

I found a lot of times when I didn't take really detailed notes of character meets, I was forgetting by the time I got to that update in the TR what had happened. So I really tried to do better videoing this trip since DH had the photos under control. Next trip I think I'm going to try to do even more candid videoing too!

I don't see what is wrong with your Pooh pictures. Those are better than most of my ride pictures. Which is why I never have any. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

:rotfl: It never even occurred to me to take pictures inside the rides before until DH got a good camera and tried it out. But I think from now on I'll leave the dark ride photos to him!

I was glad we stuck it out a little later too because it turned out to be a really fun meet with lots of great photos! Yes, it's just like the Pete's Silly Sideshow meet. I believe it's Cinderella and "a princess friend" (usually Sleeping Beauty) on one side and Rapunzel with "a princess friend" (usually Snow White) on the other side. They change out the "friends" every once in awhile I think so you may see Jasmine or something in there. Now they are supposed to be moving Anna & Elsa there, so I don't know if some princess or getting bumped or there will be a third line or what?!

Honestly, one of my Disney bucket list items is to get a picture of Buzz where his face actually shows up. Good job!!

Hehe, those interactive queues aren't just enjoyed by parents, lol.

I know what you mean, we have a LOT of faceless Buzz photos from previous trips!! :rotfl:

You're right, I have only ever experienced the interactive queues at Pooh and HM as a parent, so I think of them for DS. But they can be great for adults too! I don't even count the one at Space Mountain as interactive because I have thankfully never stood in line long enough to actually have time to play the game!

Definitely prefer no wait. :thumbsup2 Luckily with PFT I knew I'd get to see the full queue when we went to meet Rapunzel & Flynn at MNSSHP!

I think Cinderella and Aurora both really benefited from the costume change! They both look so much more elegant. I'm sure you are right about Maleficent. That movie looks like it's going to be amazing!

Fun with the princesses, he looks like he just had a blast...which makes you have a blast with him!

Great update.

Love the tangled nighttime shots, I have GOT to spend some time there in May, we just breezed through it/next to it this last trip.

Definitely! Since he can kind of clam up around the characters sometimes it's fun to see him really interact with them. :goodvibes

There are so many details to be found in the Tangled area! We spent quite a bit of time there and I still forgot about the hidden Pascals. I definitely want to look for some when we are there in May!

Oh, man, don't I know it!! He's definitely a ladies man. :lmao: We had the same worries about taking Paxton to see the princesses for the first time, but we have never regretted it. They seem to love getting to meet little boys because I'm sure it's not as often! Paxton loves Rapunzel too, but I'm sure I help encourage that because I love her too. :rotfl: Oh goodness, I sure hope the lines die down before your next trip!!! So far Paxton has not said anything about wanting to meet them. I was kind of relieved that we are skipping Epcot on our short trip so I wouldn't even have the temptation to meet Anna & Elsa, but now they are rumored to be moving to MK before our trip!! :scared1:

Paxton really IS quite the ladies man. So many great pictures with the Princesses. They are all keepers! :thumbsup2

Haha Thank you, Mary Ellen, he definitely is!!!

Hi,
Followed you over from someones tr (Rob, Mary Ellen,) and it is a great report. Love all the pics.

Looking forward to reading more.

Welcome aboard and thanks for the kind words!!

I did a double take at your ticker, and it looks like we are going to be in Italy at the same time?!? Are you doing the ABD trip or going on your own? We are also adding on a day at DLP at the end of our trip too! We will be in DLP on 9/25!

Great update! I always enjoy your DH's pictures but there is nothing wrong with yours, they look so much better than mine that's for sure. I'm looking forward to the interactive queues now that I have a toddler to entertain (thank you Disney!) but Pooh and Dumbo are the only ones that come to mind.

I'm glad you pulled those FPs, the character interactions were definitely worth it! I love the pictures of Paxton with Cinderella and Aurora. My favorite I think was number 57 (Cinderella is hugging him and her eyes are closed) don't blink or he'll be posing for his prom pictures. I can't believe how grown up he is!

I've never gotten to go backstage to get away from the parade/crowd. I would've been so excited LOL. I'm glad you were able to get out before the parade ended!

I totally understand changing up your plans to accommodate riding the PeopleMover before it closes!!! If it would not cost an arm and a leg, I totally would have done the same thing. But with such a short trip, we really can't justify paying for a 3rd day and only getting into the park for a couple of hours. That will be so great if you get the picture of you three on there. Love those kind of tradition photos!

I am going to message you my number so we can keep in touch and make sure we see each other at EMH! And maybe be close enough to compete on TSM. :3dglasses Well, let's be real, it would probably be our DHs competing! :rotfl:

I can't believe it either! He has been eating a lot lately, so I hope it's another growth spurt and he will hit that 40" mark. He's so close right now!

I think we have a good chance of 7DMT being open, I just hope we can get over there at rope drop and not wait too long! The height requirement is supposed to be 36" or 38" so we shouldn't have to rider swap that one, at least.

Thanks! My mom kind of instilled that in me, so I hate to skip mass, even on vacation.

I've been trying to think of places that I want to get pictures every trip to watch Gavin grow. He couldn't walk or stand alone last trip so this trip will be the start for most of them. I really love the picture of the three of us though riding the People Mover, and that was his first ride! I think it will be a first ride tradition for us!

The only reason we even considered going to MK on arrival night is because we will have APs, otherwise I would not waste a park day on it for such a short time. We need to upgrade our 1 day tickets at Guest Relations anyway so we are ready to go for DHS the next morning. I'd rather go to MK than Downtown Disney!

That sounds awesome! If we get there as early as we plan it's a definitely possibility! Not sure what your plans are for the morning but I bet they are similar to ours, maybe we can just pal around. We're definitely heading to TSM first. Since Gavin will be with us (and probably messing up the score for one of us) we're hoping to maybe ride it twice standby, but if we only get to once we will have our FP+ for later in the morning.

LOVE the pictures with Paxton and Cindy/Aurora!! Through the photos you can tell how much attention and time the princesses poured into him! :thumbsup2

I'm gearing up to lock in those FP+ reservations in October for Anna and Elsa now that they are moving in to the Princess Fairytale Hall.

Finally all caught up!! Wahoo!! The photos from a number of posts back (OK all the photos) were amazing with the character interactions, and I loved Mater & Pax with his adorable pose. Mardi Gras weekend is on my bucket list to do, looks like it was a blast!! And this DHS/MK day looks like SO much fun! I had no idea about the new Minnie meet either so adding that to my to-do list to check it out. Also, I think I'm going to try to bring Aria to the Monsters Inc show for the first time. LOVE the Princess interaction, so sweet! Perfect exit to MK and what a wonderful busy day!! BTW Sci Fi pictures were amazing. Seriously HOW does he get these pictures?!??! Ugh I so wish I could get these amazing low light photos! Also love the dark small world ride pic from outside.

Sorry I wanted to comment on more but it's slipping by now. Oh, your May trip sounds great!! I was going to suggest you get different FP+ selections for you and dh and use rider swap, BUT you think Paxton will be tall enough to ride! How exciting!! Fingers crossed the mine train is open! I can't wait for that one, though I will have to wait for October since it'll just be Aria and me in August. If only it was a 36" height requirement LOL!

The Pooh & Dumbo queues are great, and if you think he can handle Haunted Mansion, that one is really awesome too! It might be Paxton's favorite. He loves the instrument wall that makes noise, the organ, and pushing the books into the wall! I'm hoping we can possibly get him back on it this year, but it changes every day what he is scared of.

Oh my gosh, don't remind me! He is already growing up way too fast, I know prom, and then wedding pictures will be right around the corner. :sad1: But he definitely knows how to handle those princesses. ;)

I had actually already been to that same backstage area on KTTK but it was still cool to have that opened up for us to get out of the park for the first time! It's happened to my mom and dad a few times, but it was a first for us. And it sure did make it a whole heck of a lot easier to get out of there!!

Right now, our only standard picture has been outside of the barber shop, so I know we have to keep that up even if he doesn't always get a haircut there! It's so cute to watch them grow in the parks.

Definitely a good plan when AP's are involved!! :thumbsup2 I loved that about having those Premier APs from 2011-2012. So easy to justify popping into a park for just a couple of hours on arrival day or just for dinner one day.

Yeah, we don't really have a concrete plan, so I'm sure we will see a lot of each other. I think we are going to just maximize our time during EMH as much as possible so the rest of the morning can be kind of relaxed. Once we come back after our break I don't think we will have much time for anything before getting into the theater for Fantasmic, so we want to try to get most done in the morning before we leave.

I'm gearing up to lock in those FP+ reservations in October for Anna and Elsa now that they are moving in to the Princess Fairytale Hall.

They really did! I'm sure they love little boys coming on their own instead of being dragged in with a sister. :lmao: So he definitely gets a lot of attention from them!!

Oh man, good luck with that! At least with the way Princess Fairytale Hall is set up, they should be able to up the capacity of the Anna/Elsa meet. I casually mentioned to DH that maybe we could change one of our FP+ for them since they will be there before our May trip, but he shot that down. :lmao: I was only half serious about it anyway! Maybe if we had a longer trip, but just one day in MK and the Mine Train possibly being open, we definitely don't need another thing taking up a ton of our time!

You absolutely MUST get Aria's picture with Minnie in her dressing room! She is always dressed so cute, she just would fit in perfectly there!!

No idea on the Sci-Fi pics, but I'm so glad he did! That's such a staple of our trips, and it's the first time we really got to capture that in photos.

He's pretty close with his shoes on! So we are keeping our fingers crossed tight that he makes the 40" by then. He seems to be having a little growth spurt so hopefully it's enough to put him there. And don't quote me, but I think I have read online that the Mine Train IS only 36"! So we are really not even worried about having to swap it in May, we are thinking he will definitely be able to get on if those posts are correct. I think I saw it on both Inside the Magic and Touring Plans?

Yes it is definitely going on my must do's at DHS, which is good bc i never know what to do there besides disney jr live on stage LOL!

Mine Train is 38" it looks like! You got me excited LOL!! But while I suppose it is possible she will be 38" (she measures 35.5" right now) i think probably not. Who knows though, that's still almost 5 months away!

I bet he will be 40" if he is just a hair below!! Fingers crossed for that, too! I can't wait for Aria's first ride on Splash! Are you going to do the MM+ to get ride photos and such? I think I will have to once Aria can ride everything!

OH I keep forgetting to ask (or forgetting I've already asked this and you answered, not sure?!?!) LOL but I *think* you said you made the autograph book via Shutterfly? If so, would it be crazy to ask you for the project? I'd LOVE for Aria to finally do the autograph thing in August, i think she will finally be at a good age, and I want one that I can also put the photographs next to it bc i think she'd get a kick out of it. But i haven't spent the time on the boards trying to find pages and such (but will if I need to of course). Anyway, thanks! :goodvibes
