Two weeks before my DS turned three, it was his second to last speech therapy session before he transferred into the school system on his third birthday. He was showing his therapist Disney pictures and thats when he turned and told me " I wan go Disney World." It had been 8 months since our last trip and if i could have, I would have dropped everything, packed the car, and drove from georgia that day. That was last month and he stills runs into the room whenever he hears the disney commercial. Here's my heartbreaker on our last trip in december for my college graduation.

Devyn turned three in september. He started school on his birthday and loves it. He enjoys riding the bus and seeing his cousins at school who are in pre-k and the 3rd grade. He also loves seeing grandma who works in pre-k. School has given him a new found love for the pete the cat books. I love it when he comes home and counts to 23 and names all his colors and pulls out his projects he made at school. Of course he loves Disney. His favorites are mickey mouse clubhouse, octonauts, littleEinstein's , doc mcstuffins, and chuggington. This will be his 6th trip.

Im 26, Shun. I graduted as a respiratory therapist and I am still looking for someone or anyone who will give me the oppourtunity to begin my career. Im currently going back for another degree. In the meantime I work at a baby store. I love mickey mouse. I did the disney college program in spring 2007 working at EPCOT strollers. I can not tell you how many times I have been because I lost count but I've been quite a few times.

The school calender is not out yet for next year but the fall break is usually the last week in september. So for know, this is what i am thinking? I haven't booked yet. :(

September 24- 0ctober 1, 2013..NEW official dates September 12th-18th at the Yacht Club
Celebrating devyn's 4th birthday, which is on the 10th.

I cannot decide Where to stay?

This is turning out to be the harder than before . I mean it shouldn't be this hard? Right? Mainly because we do values alot and we love POP so that is where we usually go.
Previously we have stayed at
POP
All star movies
all star music
AKV-Jambo
Poly
and lots of offsite condos and private homes

I fell in love with AVK last trip but it was better financially because we rented points. I also came up with the idea that I want to try every resort at least once so no repeats this year. I do not plan using the rooms much and since I just moved last week, my current budget has eliminated the deluxe choices. Devyn and I stayed at Poly when he was 15 months and it was just the two of us and that was so perfect. We only went to MK and it was so easy to put him in the stroller in the room and not have to take him out on the monorail on the way there. This trip I am considering leaving the stroller home but things can change. To get back on topic. I am currently trying to decide between AOA, POR, and CSR. I think i am cutting closer to between AOA and POR. I'll decide eventually! someone already suggested I just pick what amenities I want the most. I'll have to look at the resort picture board.

All I can say is your little man is the cutest!!!!!!

At his age I would pick AOA. The deco is so cool. POR is much more mature IMHO.

You are so sweet. Thank you so much! I was looking at AOA pictures today and you are right it looks so bright and fun compared to POR.

Your son is absolutely precious!

AoA certainly has incredible decor. I walked through it while I was staying at Pop this summer and it's gorgeous.

As for POR, I stayed there back when it was Dixie Landings. I wasn't much older than your little guy, and I loved it! (So I'm told, I don't remember much of it, haha!) The water wheel was a big hit with little me, my mother recalls.

I think either one would be wonderful!

Joining in. Your little guy is adorable.

I've stayed at POR and CSR but not AoA. POR is lovely and green and whilst the decor might be more 'mature', you have the option of travelling down to DTD by boat.

CSR has the Dig site; and the playground facilities there are just wonderful. The only thing about CSR is that it is a convention resort and I didn't find it as "disney" as the other resorts. Having said that, because it is a convention resort, there were rarely any queues for the buses.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of the 3 on your list.

Thank you!

Pictures of AOA are looking better every time i look at them.

HAHA! my parents always tell me stories of those trips appearently i was afraid of Mickey! HOW WAS THAT POSSIBLE? :rotfl2:

Devyn started going when he was 1.

Devyn's 1st trip
October 2010..his 1st birthday with me, my sister, nephew(1st trip), Dsis BF, Dsis BF daughter, and my mom and dad. We stayed at POP and had a great time. It was everyone's first time at MNSSHP

ry%3D400

Devyn's 2nd trip was just me and him, December 2010 at the POLY. This was the most easy, relaxing trip we ever had. It really is very convenient for mid day naps or when it gets so cold you cannot stay outside anymore.

His 3rd trip was in May 31 to June 4, 2011 celebrating my 25th birthday at POP with grandma and TJ joining us
It was so hot!

His 4th trip in August 2011 was Just me and him. We stayed off site and had a small visit with his godfather. These pictures are still on my camera. I know that is kind of bad. Well just bad!

The last trip we took in December 2011 was Dev's 5th trip. Everyone except dad from his 1st trip came along. We stayed in all star movies the first night before switching over to AKV. Jambo house is my love! I absolutely love that resort. Renting points is the best thing since slice bread!

Like I said this next trip will dev's 6th and I am more excited than ever. He is already 39 inches tall and by september he will definately be able to ride the big rides for the First time! I will have to budget photopass plus to get copies of all the 1st big rides.

Nice to 'see' you! That's a great picture of you and your family from way back when. I love seeing old shots like that.

Devlin is one lucky boy to be heading to Disney so many times. I sure hope he grows tall enough by September for the big rides.

Thanks for sharing. ... and go download those pics from the last trip!

Thank you! I have to scan some other ones since back then we had to get the prints. I did not even realize that i left my pic out but i guess its ok since im not that photogenic!:sad2:
I sure am excited for him. He was watching the 2012 planning video and he wants to ride the fast train! a.k.a Big thunder mountain

It's time to get the budget rolling. Here is what I am planning for. If I am missing anything, please let me know. Our budget so far includes...

Transportation:
Plane tickets
Park and Fly
baggage fees
food
ME tips

Hotel
6 day base tickets
Mnsshp tickets
MNSSHP outfits
DXDP
DxDP tips
mommy drinks
Possible cab rides
Pirates league
photopass plus
Emergency cash
Souvenirs

I have not decided how much to put towards souvenirs. If Devyn decides there is something he really wants, I think that I may save it for Christmas. I know the trip is 8 days but we will not do a park on departure day or the day we go to MNSSHP. Last time we went to park the last day and had a early ADR and it was too much so we will most likely just do a character breakfast before going home. DXDP is a lot of food I hear, but I want to try the dinner shows and some signatures. I'm not sure if the end of September is usually included with free dining or if free dining will be offered next year but if we are to get so lucky, we will update to deluxe. If the food and wine festival starts, we will have to do that. Last time I was in Disney in October, no one wanted to go to EPCOT so we missed out.

And here is the picture of the update!

From December 2011

That's a good list.

Did you want to add in mousekeeping and tips for the bellhops at the resort? And if you are going to F&W, then maybe some extra cash for additional 'grazing'?

I hope you make it to Epcot this time.

Thank you! I did not add tips because we only used them when we switched resorts. I do not think I may need them but I will add it just in case. Thanks for bringing up mousekeeping. I totally forgot!:upsidedow

I hope we can go to food and wine. I am not sure if it will start by then. Is it the last weekend of september every year when it starts? I f so we may catch it right at the beginning and if that is the case, Ill need to increase my mommy drink budget:thumbsup2

I'm not sure when F&W starts but I do believe that it is around that last week or 10 days in September.

Yes....that mommy drink bucket is a good 'slosh' fund to increase. :rotfl:

Halloween
This Halloween was fun! Devyn knew what was going on or at least he knew he was getting candy. Devyn went to school for the first time because he was sick Monday and Tuesday. He came home on the bus with a bag from school and a bag from the bus driver. I asked him what was that? He told me, "Its trick or treat!" Love that kid!
Devyn is obsessed with trains. Thomas, chuggington, and just trains and tracks in general. I wish i could take him on the behind the steam train tour at MK but you have to be older i think? I was able to find him a train conductor costume at a consignment sale and he loved to blow that whistle. We went to our local shopping center followed by the square or downtown Covington. Our last stop was at our church where the older kids put on a skit telling us about the history about Halloween. Then everyone went outside to trunk or treat followed by a fish fry. Devyn was exhausted. This was a day he skipped his nap. bad idea! In the end he got two baskets full of candy that I had to hide from him.

I finally made it to your PTR! :cheer2::cheer2:

I have been debating on resorts as well. I was originally going to do POR with my brother and his fiance but then....dun...dun...dun I found out that April (my DD8) needs braces and we are talking pallet shaping and the whole meal deal so to save a little $$ I gave her the choice between AllStar Sports (my fave resort), All Star Music, or All Star Movies. Well Movies are out as she says she doesn't like the decorations (theming) so that leaves us with Music or Sports!

Your little guy is soooo cute!

I'm back home again after a quick trip to California. Hope you've been well.

I found your PTR!!!

I love the pics from Halloween. Looks like Devyn was having a blast!! Paxton is way into trains too. I tried to find him a good Thomas the Tank Engine costume but they were basically just an apron with Thomas' face. The train conductor was a great idea! I didn't think of that. Maybe next year. :goodvibes
