We were in OK for a wedding and happened to cut through OK City, so we stopped to visit the museum and outdoor memorial. I thought it was one of the best museums of that type that I have been to - very powerful, professional, and well thought out. Worth every dime of admission. You really could spend hours and hours in there, if you wanted. LOTS to do and see and read.

The outdoor memorial area is just as powerful, with great symbolism and thought put into each detail.

I was very impressed. I really encourage anyone who is in the area to make a visit. I was glad we decided to stop for a bit.

I have always wanted to see this but wonder if I ever will. I can't imagine anything ever bringing me to Oklahoma.

You have to pay to visit it though? What are they doing with the money? It doesn't seem right to profit off such a horrible thing.

The funds simply are used to staff, run and maintain the museum. This is not unusual - I know when we visited the Ford Theatre museum in Washington there was a fee there also. I believe they are both administered my the National Parks. Certainly not for profit.

I went last summer. It was very moving. The memorials on the fence were heartbreaking.

You don't have to pay to view the outdoor area... it's open 24 hours a day.

The inside is just like a museum, with the usual admission costs to cover staffing and maintenance. It was only $7, and we got buy one get one free tickets from the OK City Tourist Center. So $7 for us both. I doubt they make anything from it... it's mostly run by donations.

We went there last year after visiting some reletives in OK.It was very sad :(

I'm glad you had a chance to visit the memorial. I remember when it was just a fence. It is very touching. The $$ does go to run the museum portion. It is staffed by volunteers, many of whom were affected in some profound way by the bombing. No one there is out to make quick buck off the admission cost. As has been mentioned, the grounds are free to visit-which is what we usually do when we are in OKC.
