I very much blew it

So there it was, almost 9:50 p.m., and I got into a HM game trying to wrap up my hat quest. Got into a one on one and we both really needed a three round game. After round one, I had 30 points, and he had 24. In round two, he asked me to let him win and I said yes. The whole round, I would make sure he got a lead, then grab enough ghosts to catch up or stay one or two behind. I unzapped him once, so those didn't count. I needed 20 ghosts (for a total score of 22) to complete the task.

With about ten or fifteen seconds to go, I was down by 2 ghosts, and I went to get one more, and two ghosts turned into my vacuum thing and I went up a point, 20-19. The other guy then got zapped, and I won the round. Because I was hoping he'd get another ghost, and not wanting to ruin it for him, I stopped. So then neither of us hit 50. No hat for either of us.

I felt even worse for the other guy.

I hate how you can't finish a quest the next day.

Yeah, that 50 ghost was a killer. And what was really bad, there were times when I had 50 (One time 55 ghost) ghost, and it won't count it. So I had to play all over again. So my main character and one of my mules got a hat. My other two mules did not, because of all the time I spent with those stupid ghost. And it didn't help matters any when there were so many people playing that all the game rooms were full. Sitting there clicking for 10 minutes just to try and get a game started, did not make me a happy camper.
