I traded my stroller for a wheelchair...A mom & daughter trip to WDW

YAY!! I'm sooo glad that you got to see the opening show!!! What fun!!! :woohoo:

Me too Becky, loved it!!! Can't wait to bring the boys next time!!:yay:

I adore the opening show at MK!!! It just puts a smile on my face and like you, a tear in my eye. What a great morning so far. Looking at the cinnamon roll is making me hungry!

I'm glad it's not just me that tears up with the show! It's just soooo magical!!:cloud9: I know, that cinnamon roll was soooo yummy!!!!

It looks like a fun morning. I love the rope drop ceremony at the MK. Wonderfully cheerful and happy to get the day started.

I was watching Splash Mountain this trip and realized that in most cases it isn't the drop that gets you. It's the water canons that they set off just as you land. If your in a log that is set to go up the first hill (the one that goes inside right next to the big drop hill) at the same time a log is dropping, your doomed to get soaked by the water canons that go off as soon as the log hits bottom. I got wetter heading up that first hill from the water cannon than I did from the eventual drop itself.

Water canons?! I never saw those!! Well, they got us good that morning, that's for sure! LOL!! I'll have to keep my eye open for that next time. Thanks for the tip!!!:)

Great updates. Thats how you got to do it is get there at rope drop and go for the rides you want and you have either no wait or very short wait times. :thumbsup2

Thank you! and thanks for reading, too!! It really was the way to do it, we made out so well that day...keep reading!!;)

We left off with our ride on Big Thunder, it was so much fun, it had been years since I had been on it. Fun, fast ride!!:thumbsup2

We headed out to POC next....again, we walked right on. Always love this ride! Evidentally this is the only pic I took, sorry!

and we then headed over to the Tiki show....

I can't believe you had such short waits for everything. I don't think that I've ever seen such a short wait for the Jungle Cruise.

Hearing about walking onto rides makes me so excited for our Sept trip!!!! In Jan, we walked onto tons of rides and that's what I'm hoping for in Sept.

Glad to see you back after the long delay. A really enjoyable TR.

We went this past September & were disappointed by the crowds. The past two September trips were fabulous because of no crowds what so ever. We took photos of the empty parking lots as that was something we had never seen before. The longest wait was 10 min. for a ride. I've never used FPs ever. This past Sept. was crowded, but I really hit the times that a FP was not necessary. However, later there was a 2 hour wait for EE. :scared1:

Gotta love that 5 minute wait :thumbsup2 I don't believe we ventured over there the last two times I went to MK :confused3

Hey guys!!!:flower3:

I may be out of my Disney depression! Why you wonder?! Because we have (tenatively!!) booked a trip for October!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:
I called Disney today and priced a few different options but we've decided on this following.....

When? October 9-16

I'm SO ready for Spring!!!!:flower3:

What?!? You're going to WDW when I'm not going to be there?!?

Are you trying to cause a disaster of Biblical proportions?!?

Granted - even when we are both in WDW we never see each other ... but that's Tradition!!!

Now I don't feel so bad that we'll be there in June ... :)

Just for a few days ... but I need to "reactivate" and finish my TR so I can then start a mini-PTR ...

Hey - can someone go on my "Fairies" TR and see if you can "reply"?? Maybe that will resusitate it (the system won't let me "reply" ...)

Thanks!!

Just have a minute and wanted to check my ticker...we've moved our trip up a couple of weeks, in hopes of FD and the airfare is SO much cheaper...we are almost positive this is going to happen! But I'm afraid to get too excited!:cool1:

Hoping when Cole naps today I'll get a chance to respond to you all and update some more!! Stay tuned!!:surfweb: And have a GREAT day!!:goodvibes

Kristen what are the new dates? I am going 9/22-9/30 and staying at Kidani Villas. Sort of a family reunion. SO EXCITED! Hope everything works out for you to go.

AWESOME! :cool1: We usually go in October, but decided to try end of September this time. Just missing the F & W Festival :headache:.

Where are you guys staying?

With the beautiful weather we are having this week I am trying to get outside for exercise in conjunction with hitting the gym everyday. Gotta be ready for all that walking!

Hey Kristen - been MIA for a while. Love that snow globe! (Taunton? I went yesterday and it had been pretty much picked over.) I am looking at October dates too, but if you're saying Sept is cheaper, I may have to look at that too... hmm...

Loved the last update - I am def going to be doign the opening ceremony this time!

Big Thunder is one of our favorite rides. To me, it is just right - not too mild and not too wild. :)

I can hear that water now.

Nice pictures to start my morning. Thanks so much. :thumbsup2

Hi Memom! I agree about BT it's a fun, fast ride! How are you?!:goodvibes

I think September is a great time of year to go, Meghan! We've gone twice before and had great luck!! Let's hope that's the same for this year!!

Hi! Thanks for staying with me and your patience!!:goodvibes Wow a 2 year wait for EE!!!

Gotta love that 5 minute wait :thumbsup2 I don't believe we ventured over there the last two times I went to MK :confused3

The waits were great, we had no issues, at all...it's a nice time of year to visit!!:woohoo:

Beautiful! And a great deal, too!!!

That's so cool! I would have loved that!

I tried one for the first time in December, and it was so, so good!

Great update!

Thanks for reading and your comments!!!:goodvibes

Hey Joel!
The nerve of me planning a trip without coordinating with you, huh? But I guess since you schedule June without asking me, it's only fair! I guess that just means we need to coordinate being there at the same time and not seeing each other soon! LOL!!

I tried logging onto your report and couldn't...if you email the Mod, they can open it for you!!! Can't wait to read more!!:surfweb:

How funny that we'll be there at the same time!! I wonder if we'll be on the same flight?!! Have you booked yours yet? I have my eyes on them!!:3dglasses

We're staying at PORS, with a family of 5, it gets kinda tough to figure that out....they offer the two beds, plus a trundle bed.

We were SO spoiled last week weather wise, weren't we? I wish it was here to stay! It got chilly here today! I turned off the heat last week and am determined not to turn it back on....needless to say, I'm cold! LOL!!

Hey there!! I know, don't you just love my snowglobe? :cloud9: I didn't know there was a Disney store in Taunton! I got it in Braintree at South Shore plaza, ever go there? I had the 1st week in October booked but the air was really high and it saved us a bit of money to do it for September AND with hopes of FD (usually thru 10/3...although last year they extended it), it would save us that much more money, you know?

Oh, you SO have to do opening ceremonies, if you've never been, you will just LOVE it!!!

We are flying out of Boston on Jet Blue. Our flight is around 6:30 pm. I am working that day until 3. :headache: We were originally leaving early on the 23rd, but my brother and his family decided to leave a day earlier (they live on the West Coast) and were gonna stay at the hotel at the MCO airport. So we went ahead and decided to fly out on the 22nd and extended our reservation at Kidani one more day so they wouldn't have to do that.

We are also going May 12-18th and leaving on that same early eve flight on JetBlue. This is a change for us as we usually take the first flights in the morning. But we (I) decided to try the eve flight so we don't lose half a day with travel.

Are you guys gonna take a morning flight? When I booked mine (for both trips), I got a great price of $89 each way! But I did book waaaay in advance.
