Hi All ~ After thinking like Winnie the Pooh, "think, think....think, think" I finally decided to become a TA and specialize in Disney! I'll not disobey any DISboards rules about conflict of interest.....but I've been coming to the DISboards since Oct 2001 and wanted to share the news!

Blessings, Sandra :hippie:

Please tell us your story. How you did it? Training required, etc, etc, etc?

Thanks.

From one to another! Congrats to you!:thumbsup2
I remember chatting with you some time back about it.

Have fun...it's lots of work and you'll never get rich lol..but enjoy!

WTG Sandra! I too, remember you enquiring here on the boards about becoming a TA!! Good for you!

Are you now officially a TA, or are you about to start training?

Stephanie

that is great!! If you ever want to "take someone under your wing" I am your girl.

Awesome.

I've always thought about it as a secondary or retirement career. I help people plan and book fairly often now... but you've taken it to my fantasy level!!! Way to go!!! :woohoo:

Congrats Sandra!:woohoo:

People keep telling me I need to become a TA and I have looked into it so it may be in my future once my kids are a little older and more independent.

I know you will be a huge success at your new chosen career! :cheer2:

Thanks for the congrats!

I'm just starting and loving the continuous training. I work on commission and in learning mode but I can see how fast things will move in the near future. I've had lots of queries from friends and friends-of-friends and that's helping me with communications and preparing information.

Blessings, Sandra

Congrats. Do tell how you go about this?

I want to do that one day but deal in Cruises and Adventure tours.... Can you tell me how you went about it? With Ryleigh being disabled and having weird school hours, hoping to do something from home when the other kids go off to school.

Congrats Sandra - please do tell how you went about it! That's my dream job!! I'm already constantly planning trips for friends!

Excellent, congrats! I had such a hard time finding a TA who even knew what I was talking about...I hope you find a rich market of people to help. We have a specialist TA now (found through here), and I'm so glad we found her. I think now you don't need to be face-to-face, and I know lots of Canadians would rather deal with a Canadian. Our TA is in the GTA and we're in NS. I hear you won't get rich, but imagine having an excuse to plan vacations that won't cost YOU any money!! All the best. :goodvibes:

I would also love to know how you get started doing this. I may as well be a TA, I plan all my coworkers vacations as it is, I may as well make some money doing it. :lmao:

Congrats Susan.

I am a new TA as well working as a Disney Specialist and I am an outside sales rep which means I can do everything at home.

I am attending Seneca College part time to earn a Travel and Tourism Certificate.

I did this because everytime I visited my TA I knew more than him and I was offered a job working as the Disney Specialist. I am also one of those people who already plan everyones trip to a Disney Park so why not get paid :)

For those who are interested, check out your local community college for Travel and Tourism programs. Talk to travel agents near your home and ask if they need a Disney Specialist. You will probably be pleasantly surprised.
