my mom asked what year paper fp went away I told her 2012

They were phased out in early 2014. We were there for my 40th birthday the first week of January and had gotten our FP+ with MDE, but also were able to pull paper FP using old key cards (an early loophole long since closed). Just after our trip, the old FP machines were removed.

I was there for our first trip ever in September of 2013 and we got to "double dip" with being invited to be testers of Magic Bands / FP+ and also got to use paper fastpasses. It was great.

You're lucky although I do remember getting the odd bonus FP on the old system!

August 2013 trip - We stayed at the YC and I was invited to be part of the "test" group as well. Maybe paper stopped around Thanksgiving of that year?

Ah, the double dip trip for us was January 2014.

Never thought to take a photo with a FastPass machine until we knew their days were numbered! Daughter's fancy new magic band included.
