I Told You Driving Was Bad For Your Health! *2/2* NEW TRIP REPORT LINK P102

But first - a little workout.
It's called vacation for a reason... :rolleyes1

He returned with two FP's and we got in the standby line, which move pretty quickly.
Good call. I always have to go through the Standby line there. It is just amazing.

You can see it wasn't very crowded.
I think the only time I've ever seen it lined up in that room was when it broke down for like 15 minutes last year. :lmao::rotfl2:

Clearly we survived! And there's one passenger in the front row who is a little over exuberant about the whole thing.
Wow... who is that crazy lady taunting the carnotaurus? :rolleyes1

I am looking at this picture now and noting that we had Safari & EE FP's for the same time. How the heck did that happen? Did someone give us a set? I really can't recall.
:confused3 And I guess since you don't know, we'll never know. :rolleyes1

It was good, but a quarter of a sandwich, really? I ate that in two, maybe three bites. I had no clue it was going to be such a lame size.
I'd be disappointed. I never expect under sized proportions from Disney.

This has always been one of my favorite views in the park

Hard to argue with that.

60 minute standby
Aren't you glad you got up and moving early?

OMG that shirt is hilarious!!! :lmao:

Front row at EE is the way to go. :woohoo: You got some great ride pics! I would be terrified to have my camera out on that ride, even my little point & shoot. I think DH might be a little braver this year and keep the camera out for photos on EE this year.

Since we have gone to Disney at such off times since 2007, I haven't seen AK that crowded in ages! That's June for ya...

Great update! :thumbsup2

Hi guys. I'm reading all your comments tonight but I'm not sure when I will do replies. I am working 24 hours tomorrow and again on Sunday. This is part of a 12 day stretch. :faint: So forgive me if it takes awhile.
Hang in there! 12 days, eesh!

MEK, you were an updating machine!

Love all of the photos of EE (I wish I could ride so I could get photos there...it's such a great theme). And :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: for no line for Dinosaur (I was the only one in the room for the pre-show when I was there in August).

Beautiful pictures as always, and can't wait to see if you see that lion standing up rather than snoring!

I loved the photo tour of AK! That park is so beautiful and you did a great job capturing it. I can't wait to get back there next month :)

It's just impossible to get tired of taking pictures in AK. I really think I need to catch the parade during my next visit. I never hang there all day in the summer but I think I can make it with the more temperate weather. :thumbsup2

Even off site you make time for the workout and get to AK all early.

Yup, I sure did! It really wasn't a bad ride to AK. About the same as traveling from any of the onsite properties (with the exception of AKL, of course).

It looks like your EE FP was obtained at 9:03 and the Safari FP were obtained at 10 am. Could it be they were for 10 something?
Sure seems like you took the grand tour of the park that morning.

Darn girl - you have good eyes. Yes - that is quite possible. We did do a lot of criss crossing that morning. That always happens to me. It's just part of visiting AK. The old back and forth!

You covered a lot of ground. :worship:

:thumbsup2

DVC tour - I know what's coming. Hoping to get a sneak peek next week.

::yes:: It's pretty amazing. Well worth going to see, but be careful... Be very careful. It's THAT awesome! :rotfl2:

Dup I am ready to give up on Internet explorer:badpc:

Ugh - I hate when that happens. :furious:

I think the orange backpack is worse.

If there is such a thing as "worse" I would tend to agree with you there. :rotfl:

I am looking forward to the new place they are opening near Morocco.

Me too. That's going to be lovely. Can't wait!

Love sitting outside at Rose & Crown.

Isn't it the best? I just love the whole atmosphere there. Can't wait to hang out there again VERY soon!!!!! :cool1:

What a great dismeet in the lobby.

I'm so glad we all got to meet up in the evening. It was a lot of fun!

Great pics of EE queue.
Nothing better than front row.
Nice pics of the ride. LOL he covered your face.

Thanks. And, yes, he DID cover my face, didn't he? Darn Denny!

I have never been in Restaurantasaurus.

Really? It's actually pretty cute in there. There is a lot of detail in a lot of those side rooms. Plus, they have a really good veggie sandwich! :thumbsup2

All caught up again.

:thumbsup2

You sure do make it hard to stay caught up around here!!! :faint: :rotfl:

Don't worry. It won't be like that this week. I am working a ridiculously long stretch. I probably won't update again until the end of the week. I haven't even started packing and I really need to do that SOON!

So, you took the time for a workout before..........your workout??? By the end of the day, all that walking around the parks is about all the workout I can stand!!! :scared: I usually end up spilling a drink on my shirt like the Epcot picture of Denny..............

My feet are usually killing me by the end of the day. But, you'll see that we didn't hang at AK all day. We left when the heat started to crank up. That's the way we roll in the summer.

I still have no idea what was on Denny's shirt. :rolleyes2

You have a camera in that picture??? :scratchin So cool that you got to ride in the front!

I see you're still clinging tight to that camera...... :lmao:[/QUOTE]

I was clinging to the camera so tightly that you can barely see it. I already cracked the rim of a lens on EE so I was trying to be extra careful.

:rotfl2: Oh, I love this one!!!

Those T's were pretty darn funny!

AK is one of my favorite parks to explore and EE is one of the best two coasters at WDW IMHO! :thumbsup2

I agree. I love EE because its got all the components of a great coaster - suspense, scary dark places, drop, lift hill with views, and a great theme. Seriously, what's not to love?

You guys did a great job hitting EE, Dinosaur and collecting FPs first thing. I know this is a stretch, and hard to imagine happening with the two rides involved, but is it possible you got that random and elusive set of bonus FPs for Safari when you stopped for the EE ones? Usually if that happens it is for a less popular ride, but I guess it is possible.......especially since the return times are exactly the same??? :confused3

I have NO idea how that happened. I can't even begin to figure it out so I am not going to try. The main thing is we were able to get a lot done in the park in a relatively short period of time. :thumbsup2

Oh my! Hang in there, vacation is just around the corner! :goodvibes

Your definitely tour AK like a pro! Those were some crazy park open lines. We've never made it there that early so I wouldn't even know if that is normal.

Uhh yeah, where's the rest of your breakfast sandwich. So funny but I wasn't aware that Pizzafai served breakfast until this last trip.

Ha ha! That was an awesome Dinosaur photo. Someone looked excited to see that T Rex!

Hmmm I wonder what happened with that DVC informational/research only tour??

Mary Ellen those are worse than Rosie shifts:scared1:I have been sooo tired lately I have done NOTHING at home, and it shows !!:eek:Tomorrow Judy is off and we are cleaning and shopping etc !!! Anymore this has become the norm my one day off is cleaning and shopping, but I am just to tired other nights to really do much except feed the animals and dishes and some laundry.

I know that feeling. I think I was asleep at 8:30 last night. Tonight - laundry and hopefully the rest of packing. Monday may be interesting, need to wait on a plumber I think who I have not heard from at all so I am going to work and well hopefully I get a call. So I may be in and out of the office but need to put in 8 hours somehow. Half day Tuesday then I can start my drive!!!!!!! Going about halfway and then the happy place Wed afternoon!!!1

Darn girl - you have good eyes. Yes - that is quite possible. We did do a lot of criss crossing that morning. That always happens to me. It's just part of visiting AK. The old back and forth!

I tell you pictures help me remember better that anything else. I write notes... apparently I put them in "code" and have no idea what I meant. :rotfl2:

Sometimes I wonder why I took it but it seems random I know I have to look for something.... or look immediately before or after for a clue.

AK needs an outer loop. :rotfl:

All caught up! First of all I wanted to say how sorry I am about Max. I'm a cat lover as well and I know how hard it is to lose them. I bet he knew how much you loved him!

I love the story about the bird. I think Denny was right!

I'm loving all these DAK pics... They're making me want to be there RIGHT NOW!

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

WOW MEK!! Those EE ride pics just might be the best I've ever seen on the DISboards! :thumbsup2 I'm not sure I can hold on and take pics at the same time! :rotfl:

13 days until DW and I meet the famous MEK/Denny!!

Things are about to get really busy so checking in since I might not be able to stop back by for a while! :wave2:

Getting back in the swing of things and on the Dis! Trying to find all my Dis friends reports and subscribing.

Sorry it took so long to get here! :confused3 It may take me a while to get caught up.

I see you are close to your cruise! How exciting!

Getting caught up on all the TR's. Just got back on Friday & had a great week at Disney.

I love visiting the Poly just to take pics & to shop.:goodvibes

I have never had a Mai Tai. I may need to change that in May.

Too funny about your DH's shirt. Just last week my DH dribbled all down his shirt & you can see it clearly in the PP pics.:sad2::). I tried to get him to turn & face me so it would not be seen.

No Denny on SSE??? What happened to Denny?? I had that happen to me once also.

Aw that is great that you got to meet Anita & Marc. We got to meet her one late night at MK at around 11:30 pm. They were just arriving for their trip & it was our last night there so it was hi & bye. Baylor was with them also. I have yet to meet Kathy or Mary & the girls.

Wow was that sandwich small!! So unusual for Disney.

I take the most pics at AK. I just love all the animals & feel like I need a pic of all of them.:goodvibes

Ok I hope to stay caught up now.

I just started my TR (in my signature). Would love to have you along.

I love the way the entire whole of Animal Kingdom is perfectly themed, blends together so well. I love the entrance too, it fits in with the rest of the park just right. :thumbsup2

It really does blend well. The entrance is once of my favorite parts of the park. It get me really excited for the park. It gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling.

EE is especially fantastic with the theming. I adore that queue!

Me too! There is so much to look at. It's a shame that I am always rushing to get on the ride or in that front row queue.

Front row is awesome for the views, but for me, I'd rather the back row for the ride! :thumbsup2

I know you love the back row. Since I am a thrill wide wimp at heart I prefer the front. :rotfl: The back will give me a super coaster headache.

Fantastic on-ride pic on Dinosaur! Love the enthusiasm! :cheer2:

I think I might have gotten a tad OVER enthusiastic. Just sayin!

I pretty much need that "Unstoppable" t-shirt... can't wait to get there!

Those t's were too funny!

I have a good feeling for a great lion picture this time! pixiedust:

We shall see...

Your EE pictures are great, I've never been on it. I prefer to take my EE pictures from on the ground outside :goodvibes

Thanks! And nothing wrong with taking ground level pictures. Often they are the best!

Love the EE queue. You got some fantastic pictures on the ride as well!

Thanks. I really tried to work that camera. I was laughing the whole time because taking the pictures was such a challenge.

+1:thumbsup2 to Denny for the Phillies shirt.

I have a feeling that shirt might back a repeat appearance on the June trip and I'm sure it will be in the October luggage as well.

All the other passengers are saying, "I would have bought the picture except for that lady in the front seat." :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: You're probably right! :rotfl2:

Awesome shirt, isn't it?

Wow, that's pathetic. That didn't come from the kids menu?

Nope - not from the kid's menu. There were no real pictures of it so I was shocked at the size. I totally expected a half sandwich. I was shocked to see a quarter slice. Needless to say, I won't be buying that again.

:thumbsup2

No thanks, I'm on vacation.

:goodvibes

A sleeping one, maybe.:rotfl:

Aren't you the one who says all the lions are animatronic after all? Or is that Glen?

Really cute shirt! :)

Hey wiigirl! How's it going? All those shirts were very cute!

I, too love the theming at AK. We usually spend our last day in the AK, Asia is my favorite theme area.

I love Asia! Heck, I love the whole park and I'm looking forward to the October visit when it will be cooler. :)

I've never been in any of those restaurants in Dinoland, so thanks for a peek inside.

It's a really cute restaurant and has several rooms with great theming. Plus they have a great veggie sandwich!

Looks like if I want to ride EE again I have to ride solo. DH is starting to have major motion sickness on most rides. He had his last ride on Star Tours this last trip, he was getting sick. At least I can still ride all the rides!

Oh NO! I'm sorry to hear that. It must really stink to have motion sickness. I have never really had that problem. I'm just more of a ride chicken!

Looking forward to that DVC tour, wish I could get hubby to invest.

All I'm going to say is the VGF rooms are AMAZING!

I love the tees. Those are really cute.

Aren't they adorable? So cute!

Looks like such a nice day, though crowded. But it seems like parts were less crowded than others.

It wasn't horrible. I swear it was worse the prior year. I don't remember being overwhelmed by the crowds, but maybe I just forgot.

I swear I have gotten a bigger sandwich there before. I wonder if someone ate the other half. LOL

:rotfl2: Maybe someone behind the counter got hungry or messed up? :confused3 Seriously, that sandwich was ridiculously small.

Love your front-row EE pics!

Thank you! :goodvibes

I MISS ANIMAL KINGDOM. Like, seriously. We ended up not making it there with Simba, which means I haven't been there for my last three trips. Considering EE is tied for my favorite grown-up ride (with TOT), that's shameful!

Well, at least you have an excuse for getting back there sooner. Maybe the next time you go Simba will be a better age to enjoy it more. It's tough when you have to curtail your adult needs for your kids, but that's all part of being a momma. I bet you get there again soon.

Actually, come to think of it, I don't think I've been to HS for my last three trips, either. I've been traveling to WDW like it's 1982 or something! :lmao:

:rotfl2: Missing HS would not bother me as much as missing AK. I have to agree with you that it really IS the most beautiful and the most unique in character.

I really think AK is the most beautiful park. I just wish it had better traffic flow...except for at the very beginning and very end of the day, it pretty much always feels crowded to me, even on very slow days. I can't imagine how packed it must have been walking around there in June!

The traffic flow is tough because everything is built around the tree. My least favorite part is the trek between the Safari and Asia. I find that to be the most congested and annoying.

Great update! You got so many beautiful pictures from Yeti Land (I like that name lol) Very cool that you got to ride EE - the pictures turned out great. I'm usually hanging on for dear life and my camera doesn't even cross my mind :rotfl:

I'm glad you like the pictures. I learned that if I put the smaller lens on the camera I can control it a lot better plus get better pictures. Believe me, I am still hanging on for dear life. :rotfl2:

Mary Ellen, I'm always amazed at your pictures on Expedition Everest. They are so good! I'm too much of a chicken to do much more than hold the camera still and push the button much less lean over and take pictures looking down and to the side.

Thanks! You know the funny thing is, I don't think the front row is as scary as some of the seats in the back. Still, I'm pretty much screaming, laughing, holding on with one hand, and trying to protect my camera - all at the same time! :rotfl2:

Great update :) Those shirts are too funny! I just might have to pick up one or two next trip.

Aren't they adorable? I don't know if people would really get them outside of Disney world, but who cares?

I really enjoyed that veggie sandwich you recommended at Restarauntosaurus, and the inside has so many details. That one you got at Pizzafari looked piddly, was it at least good? How much?

Isn't that sammie SO good? Love it!

The breakfast sammie was good but it was like a tease. Literally three bites and it was gone. It was $5 and change so I really expected it to be HALF a sandwich, not a quarter.

Too funny about the hands up during Dinosaur, I'm always cowering in fear :rotfl:

You? Nahhhh!

I am pretty proud of my timing with the ride picture. Usually I miss it!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I laughed hard at this comment. I always feel like I am backtracking in AK because well you are. It needs an outer loop. :lmao:

An outer loop? :lmao: Too funny Pat!

Wow! Just Wow! Love this picture!

What a great morning so far! The pictures from the EE queue and ride are fantastic! I also love your ride photos from EE and Dinosaur.

I have never been in Pizzafari. Guess I won't make it there if I am starving for breakfast.

Looking forward to your safari. C'mon out lions!!!

I tell you pictures help me remember better that anything else. I write notes... apparently I put them in "code" and have no idea what I meant. :rotfl2:

:lmao:

This!

I know exactly what you mean!

WOW MEK!! Those EE ride pics just might be the best I've ever seen on the DISboards! :thumbsup2 I'm not sure I can hold on and take pics at the same time! :rotfl:

13 days until DW and I meet the famous MEK/Denny!!

I am jealous! Have a fantastic trip. Still at BCV? I hope you enjoy it.

Sorry I've been MIA, I'm finally caught up.

I cannot believe you're going back to Disneyworld in about a week!!! :faint: I'm doing something wrong in this life. And your cruise!

Love all of your AK photos. It's my second favorite WDW park right after MK. I know it's an amusement park but AK gives such a feeling of peace. I think that's why I love the AKV so much too.

You are brave taking your camera out during EE. I'm always white knuckling it the whole time.

Hi all. I am going to try to do replies tonight. I'm at the end of a 12 day stretch. Tomorrow is the last day- finally !
