I Told You Driving Was Bad For Your Health! *2/2* NEW TRIP REPORT LINK P102

You made great use of half a day! :thumbsup2

CoP is great stop with air conditioning and a show. I love looking at everything and all the details, like the bulletin boards. ;)

I think the intense looks on Buzz are from the flashes in your eyes. :rotfl:

Ah the Plaza..... oh how I miss thee. Looks like you had a great meal but you didn't save room for ice cream... :faint:

Back to the room and I am curious to see what all that construction becomes.

I love the CoP pictures. I really like that attraction even though I tend to fall asleep during it :rotfl:

So many great pictures. I love the one of you two in front of the castle and the ones from the boat are great too.

We've changed our dates for Nov and I think we might overlap now. When do you leave?

What a fun update, MEK.

So Denny loves COP, huh? He and Mark would hit it off really well.

Lunch at one of my all-time favorites, the Plaza. Your burger is making me drool right now. But no dessert? I always manage to fit that in (maybe that's why my pants didn't fit when I got back home ;)).

I love how you always capture the balloons on your way out.

I didn't realize you were staying at GF for your anniversary. Good for you.

Sorry I missed my regular update. Better late than never, I always say. If I haven't caught up on your TR, I promise I will. We had a busy weekend and this week I am working 56 hours. Yup. That's right. 16 hours of OT.

I am in the same boat with a full-time and a part-time job keeping me quite busy. So little DIS time these days.

How about visiting one of Denny's favorites?

You know - this one

Denny loves this ride, because, you know, it really IS a great big beautiful tomorrow!

No flash photos allowed. The key to this ride is don't even go near your camera (in a non-flash mode of course) until you have spun to the first scene or you WILL get nailed. It seems that the CMs here don't know the difference between flash and non-flash, so why take the chance.

One of my favorites, as well. :thumbsup2

And I agree about some cast members in here. If they see a camera, they assume you are going to flash it. They can give some evil looks. I'd have to be a brave person to dare to flash in this place.

Yea CoP! Most of my family loves this ride. I say most because it's my husband who is just eeh about it but my girls love it. I think its kinda funny beacuse I never would have guessed that little kids would have really like it. I think the dog keeps them interested although Addison asked me how the dog could be that old in the end. :confused3 I couldn't think of a really good answer on the fly. If she thought that it was generations of the same dog family it would have broke her heart that any had died, even if it was old age. I think I told her that they must have fed him really good food!

I have never been to the Plaza, I know I should rectify that as so many people have great things to say about it. Did you have an ADR or just walk-up? There seems to be more availability now for walk-ups although why wait when its 1/2 empty?

I don't blame you on the heat, it get's hot fast! And you can never have too many balloon pictures!

Christine

Love COP! Definitely a must do in December. You guys got a lot done even if you are warm weather wimps. What is it with the wait at the Plaza? I do not get that at all.

Cute pictures of you guys although it looks like you both might take someone out on Buzz.

Feeding the ducks (or birds anywhere) is one of our huge pet peeves, drives me nuts.

BLEH on 16 hours of OT (well other than the obvious financial benefit).

The last time I was there, they said no photos whatsoever, which I really didn't get. Why in the world would non-flash photos not be allowed? I snuck a few in, anyway. I love CoP.

Ummmm... Isn't there a rule about feeding ducks? (Like the way I snuck a picture of that indiscretion). I wanted to say "Please don't feed the ducks", but I thought better of it. It wasn't worth aggravating another park goer, so I bit my tongue and turned my back. Denny hates when I get super focused on rules, so I let it go.

At least they're not pigeons! After 12 years, I guess I have turned into a real New Yorker, because I now yell at people for feeding pigeons (OK, maybe "yell" is an exaggeration, but "speak sharply" isn't). Because there's nothing nastier than having to push a stroller through a flock of a hundred nasty city birds, no matter how much you enjoy the "Feed the Birds" song in Mary Poppins!

I loved our lunch. I was pretty full when we finished, so we skipped dessert, which stinks when you are in an ice cream shop. But there is no way I could have had another bite.

I've never managed a dessert at the Plaza, because I'm always too full! I think the fries are better at LTT, though.

Good job beating Mark on Buzz. I suck at that game -- I don't think I've ever beaten anybody!

Hang in there with all your OT this week...I hope things slow down for you soon!

Bummer about all the hours at work. Does it make looking forward to Dis trips and get aways that much sweeter??

CoP AND Plaza Restaurant! Now that's a great morning. Beating Denny at Buzz..., ha ha icing on the cake! You did take your duties as a Space Ranger seriously, I can tell from the photo.

I thought of you whenever we passed by the new GF villas this last trip. I know your name is on one of those rooms next year! How fabulous will that be? ::yes::

I love the balloon photos. They frame the context of the fun and childlike quality of that place. :)

I always enjoy all your photos... great job!

Great pics on Carrousel of Progress. Last time we were on it, the castmembers kept making announcement that there were to be no pictures. Seemed like they said it during every scene. Darn them!

Hum, wonder why you had to wait to be seated at The Plaza when there were clearly lots of empty tables? Makes no sense. :confused3

We had a busy weekend and this week I am working 56 hours. Yup. That's right. 16 hours of OT.

Speaking of work, I am into my 11th week at my new job. Yup - that's right. I am counting every week. That's how much I wish I had a part time job right about now. *sigh*
That sounds... brutal. :scared:

Denny loves this ride, because, you know, it really IS a great big beautiful tomorrow!
A definite classic. :thumbsup2

And don't even think about standing up. :lmao::rotfl2:

I know it has seen upgrades, but still. I really think its a timeless attraction.
::yes::

So we got our beeper and sat under an umbrella, with this view.
Wouldn't mind having those views right about now...

The not quite as healthy meal
That would be my choice... :rotfl2::rotfl:

Still not sure how I feel about this
I know exactly how I feel about it. :rolleyes1

Nice wrap-up to your morning. Took me a while to visit CoP, but it is now pretty much a must do! :goodvibes

We had a great morning. It was a Sunday in June and really not all that crowded.

CoP is a great ride, but we limit is twice in one trip. Denny could see it over and over again.

Plaza.......YUM! :yay: Probably one of my favorite go-to restaurants when I'm in MK. They have so many tempting items on the menu that I still have lots more trips to stop there to try them all! :thumbsup2

I love the plaza. It's upscale counter service. It's small and quaint in there and just a great break from the park. I love the food. Haven't tried anything I didn't like.

It is funny how they always seem to get the very intense pictures on Buzz. Looks like you were both really into it!

I look so darn serious. Hey, wait a minute - that's because I WAS super intent. Intent of beating Denny! :rotfl2:

Yes, those are very interesting clouds! And some great balloon pics!

I love big puffy summer clouds. They are so pretty and relaxing. The scream summer and relaxation!

I always enjoy using the boats for transportation whenever possible. So relaxing, and so many photo ops!!!

Great photo-ops. I do prefer the ferry over the monorail. The only thing I don't like is parking at the MK. It's so annoying that there are so many steps involved in getting into the park.

You got some beautiful shots! Love the umbrella pictures :thumbsup2

I also love the backpack! Did you get that there?

Great update! Sorry, have to skip all the chatting I missed while away. Anything new happening?

Welcome back Pam! Can't think of anything to exciting to tell you. I've got some plans set for October, but I'll share them later.

I like balloon number 2 picture best because of the strings.

Good point! Thanks!

I understand escaping the heat.

Ugh - you mean like the heat today? It's ridiculous! :rotfl:

I love the Tinker Bell balloon. If I had seen one of those when we were there in February, I would have bought one for our three year old granddaughter. princess:

It is really precious, isn't it? I have this thing about balloons (in case you didn't notice). I think they are so festive and fun to look at!

I love the pictures that you took from the boat. We stayed at the WL and riding the boats was so much more fun than taking the monorail or a bus. :)

I totally agree. The boats are so much fun. As you see, we will ride some more boats during this trip. I would pick them over the monorail any day!

You made great use of half a day! :thumbsup2

I think we did pretty well. It was nice that the park wasn't super crowded and we were able to get two mountains under our belt fairly easily! :thumbsup2

CoP is great stop with air conditioning and a show. I love looking at everything and all the details, like the bulletin boards. ;)

I was thinking of you when I saw the bulletin board. But I had my close up lens on and I was not about to try changing it! :rotfl:

I think the intense looks on Buzz are from the flashes in your eyes. :rotfl:

Maybe! :rotfl2:

Ah the Plaza..... oh how I miss thee. Looks like you had a great meal but you didn't save room for ice cream... :faint:

I know, can you believe it? My excuse is that it was our first full day. I hadn't stretched my stomach yet. Give me another day or two and I would definitely have been able to eat some ice cream! ;)

Back to the room and I am curious to see what all that construction becomes.

I am curious too. Is there still construction there? I haven't read anything about it, but then again I don't keep up with the DIS as well as I should.

I love the CoP pictures. I really like that attraction even though I tend to fall asleep during it :rotfl:

...and the Hall of President...and the American Adventure. :upsidedow Yup, it can be a real sleeper if you hit it right. I always feel my eyes get a little heavy too!

So many great pictures. I love the one of you two in front of the castle and the ones from the boat are great too.

Thanks! I can't believe we ran into our personal photographers for a second time that day! :thumbsup2 They were the nicest couple!

We've changed our dates for Nov and I think we might overlap now. When do you leave?

I think I read November 5 - 11th on Caitlin's FB page? Is that right? I just know you are going to saying yes, because, OF COURSE, we are leaving on November 4th. :faint: I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect I won't be. Bummer! :sad1:

Actually Caitlin had the wrong dates! We arrive at 9:30am on the 4th :)

What a fun update, MEK.

Thanks Kathy! Glad you enjoyed it!

So Denny loves COP, huh? He and Mark would hit it off really well.

He does love it and I do think Denny and Mark would get along really well. Denny is not nearly as brave as Mark when it comes to hat pictures, but I think they would have a lot in common!

Lunch at one of my all-time favorites, the Plaza. Your burger is making me drool right now. But no dessert? I always manage to fit that in (maybe that's why my pants didn't fit when I got back home ;)).

Love the Plaza! As far as the ice cream - all I can say is it was still early in the trip and my stomach hadn't stretched yet! :rotfl2:

I love how you always capture the balloons on your way out.

I can not pass up an opportunity for a balloon pic! They are my favorite! :thumbsup2

I didn't realize you were staying at GF for your anniversary. Good for you.

Yup. Next year! We bought a small contract there so we could stay there for two or three nights every year or longer if we stay there every other year.

I am in the same boat with a full-time and a part-time job keeping me quite busy. So little DIS time these days.

That would keep you very busy. You have my sympathy. I mean, its great to make money, but I really like my free time more. It's often hard to find DIS time, but I find it very relaxing.

One of my favorites, as well. :thumbsup2

It's such a classic. It just takes me back to my childhood!

And I agree about some cast members in here. If they see a camera, they assume you are going to flash it. They can give some evil looks. I'd have to be a brave person to dare to flash in this place.

I completely understand why they would never want a flash to go off. And I guess the bottom line is you can't trust people to leave their flash off. So the only alternative is to say no cameras at all. It's a shame that no flash always gets translated in no camera.

:rotfl2: Great answer mom! I do think the dog is very endearing. I always love looking at Rover too! He's just so big and cuddly. So cute that Addison wanted to know how the dog could be that old. Kind of hard to answer that accurately. It's like Shadow at HHI - there is no way that Shadow could be 15 years old, but they play along with it like she is.

I have never been to the Plaza, I know I should rectify that as so many people have great things to say about it. Did you have an ADR or just walk-up? There seems to be more availability now for walk-ups although why wait when its 1/2 empty?

I always make an ADR for lunch. It never seems empty, but its much easier to get in there with an ADR and I can usually make one pretty last minute. I definitely recommend it. It's a great little place for lunch.

I don't blame you on the heat, it get's hot fast! And you can never have too many balloon pictures!

Christine

I am not a big fan of summer heat. I stick to early mornings and late afternoon/evenings. In 2009 it was so hot that my shoes literally felt like they were melting in the parking lot. Why torture yourself with that?

And, you're right - you can never have too many balloons! :thumbsup2

Love COP! Definitely a must do in December. You guys got a lot done even if you are warm weather wimps. What is it with the wait at the Plaza? I do not get that at all.

Warm weather wimps? :rotfl2: Yes - that about sums it up! What can I say? Too many summer trips has made me wary of really hot weather in the middle of the day.

I have no idea why there is always a wait there, yet when you get inside at lunch time the restaurant is never full. :confused3

Cute pictures of you guys although it looks like you both might take someone out on Buzz.

:rotfl2: Yeah, we were definitely in the heat of the moment. I must have been focusing on one of those big point yields. Obviously, I was not successful.

Feeding the ducks (or birds anywhere) is one of our huge pet peeves, drives me nuts.

I just wonder about all the ramifications of that. I mean, do those birds get to the point where they never search for food on their own? Do they become totally dependent on humans for food? Do the CM's leave real bird food out in the grass? I just wonder what the life span of the ducks is. Do they get sick more frequently? How do you police overfeeding?

BLEH on 16 hours of OT (well other than the obvious financial benefit).

Here's my thing with OT - and I don't do it very often - but it always seems like an inordinate amount goes out in taxes. I don't think the gain is worth the output. I am going to have to work some serious OT before we leave in October. That has me a little stressed, but I know I'll really be ready for this trip. :thumbsup2

It's a great big beautiful tomorrow...shining at the end of every DDDAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do love COP, and while I don't have to do it every time, it holds a special place in my heart.

I'm horrible....I may or may not be guilty of periodically ACCIDENTALLY dropping food on the ground for the ducks. I have a weak spot for them. :lmao:

Haha, love the Buzz picture. So serious!

That guy in your photobomb is like "WHA?!"

That is an adorable backpack. Where did you see that?

I can't stand people who feed the ducks & birds at Disney World! That's what makes them so aggressive and then they come bother people like me and try to take my food! So annoying.

Anyway, your lunch looks great! I love the idea of splitting a healthy and very non healthy lunch. :lmao: Great food and only half the guilt!

How cute that you ran into your photo op friends again. :goodvibes And lucky, because that's a great photo of you & Denny!

Sorry I missed my regular update. Better late than never, I always say. If I haven't caught up on your TR, I promise I will. We had a busy weekend and this week I am working 56 hours. Yup. That's right. 16 hours of OT.

No, the key to this ride is to get up and leave before it starts, and go on something else.:thumbsup2:rotfl:

And this view

Yep, that sure is one nice tree.:rotfl2:

Inside we ventured to a nearly empty restaurant. All those empty tables and we had to wait outside. What gives?

:confused3 Now that is weird. Why wait at all?

Mark (captain oblivious) - I thought of you when I was eating my half of the burger because it was REALLY yummy!

:woohoo: Vacation is for eating delicious greasy food!

202013%20Day%202%20Part%201/IMG_2529_zpsdd16c94b.jpg[/IMG]

I think that clocks says 12:30. Wow. We really are warm weather wimps!

:sad2:

Just kidding. Everybody gets tired of the heat sometimes.

I love the COP! Such an adorable attraction.
I've yet to eat at the Plaza, still. It looks beautiful but the menu holds no real appeal for me. How strange though that you had to wait outside with so many empty tables!
Love the balloon pics, and all the great shots on your way back on the boat!
