I Told You Driving Was Bad For Your Health! *2/2* NEW TRIP REPORT LINK P102

Prayers tonite for you and your family. I go to the DIS too when I am stressed.

Your pictures are beautiful. What day of the week is it. The bride stalking was great. Loved the picture of the bride drinking a PBR. Milwaukee's finest.

Posting from my phone so I'll have to come back for most of the update later, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Your mom and your whole family are in my prayers.

So sorry for your loss, Mary Ellen. Glad you were able to get hospice involved and have some time with him too. Prayers sent for you and your mom.

Love all the beach pics, I love those beach chairs with the umbrellas with them, so cute in pictures.

So funny that you saw so many weddings that day. :bride:

Oh Mary Ellen, I am so sorry about your dad. Glad you got to be with him at the end and also that he is in a better place. I will keep your mom in my prayers, and your family as well.

I enjoyed your update, loved the pictures! Especially the beach pics! What a gorgeous spot!

Hehe you can't drink all day unless you start in the morning - I think I know so e people who need that sign!

Mary Ellen- I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Sending positive thoughts and energy to you, your mom and your family. I know it will be difficult for all of you for some time.

:grouphug:

I loved all of the pictures of the beach, but I think my favorite was the first one you posted of the two beach chairs with the dune grass. Now, all I can hear is Jimmy Buffett's Lone Palm

"Out on the beach there are two empty chairs"

That is some really cool stuff out on the beach, but the shells looked more like sand half-dollars.

The picture with the purple was edited, not with a filter right? Really pretty.

What nice pictures from Beaufort. Nothing seems very crowded on your trip. That's nice!

Too funny about all of the brides. The one with the Pabst Blue Ribbon cracked me up. I can understand not wanting to drink red wine in a wedding gown, and I loved a good beer as much as the next guy, but not sure PBR would be my wedding day choice!

I am so very sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers :grouphug:

Thanks Dawn. I really appreciate you stopping by to send your condolences. It means a lot.

Mary Ellen - first and foremost I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you and your family can find comfort and peace in your happy memories and knowing he is at peace.:grouphug: Take care.

Thanks Sheree. I do take a lot of comfort in knowing he is at peace. I am certain my mom does too.

Second - I love your beach chair pictures!!
And the Beaufort Brides! How cool is that?? I like the dress on #2.

That would have been a great title for this update! I love the dress on #2. I feel like it could have been on that show "Something borrowed. Something new". It looked lovely on her.

Did you read the small print on the sign - You can't drink all day...
unless you start in the morning!

I know people who could probably do that. :rotfl:

Mary Ellen so sorry to hear of your loss. You will always have those memories of your father when he was in great health. As you said he's in a better place now. I will be praying for your mother, I know how hard it will be on your mother, but she will adjust in time.

Thanks Doris. I do have memories of my dad in good health and there were a lot of good times he had with my boys when they were little. I am concerned for my mom. She seems OK now, but its going to be tough. She will feel so empty.

I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is never easy, but having the confidence that he is at peace helps.

That was so well said. Thank you. And I do have the confidence that he is at peace and that means a lot!

Prayers tonite for you and your family. I go to the DIS too when I am stressed.

Thank you OhMari. I agree that the DIS is a very relaxing place and a good place to be to escape the stress of the real world. I know my time will be limited in the next several days, so I want to get some DISing in while I can.

Your pictures are beautiful. What day of the week is it. The bride stalking was great. Loved the picture of the bride drinking a PBR. Milwaukee's finest.

It was Saturday. I should have included that. I never expected to see so many brides. You sort of forget what day it is when you're on vacation. That same bride was also seen smoking a cigarette which just crushed my illusion of her. But she was stunning.

Posting from my phone so I'll have to come back for most of the update later, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Your mom and your whole family are in my prayers.

Thanks so much Andy. I really appreciate you popping in to say that. It means a lot.

So sorry for your loss, Mary Ellen. Glad you were able to get hospice involved and have some time with him too. Prayers sent for you and your mom.

Thank you. I am so grateful that we were able to get hospice in at the last minute. I was working behind the scenes to do that but my mom was initially so reluctant. It ended up being a blessing.

Love all the beach pics, I love those beach chairs with the umbrellas with them, so cute in pictures.

There is nothing more relaxing looking than an empty beach chair and umbrella. It just screams "sit down and RELAX"! :beach:

So funny that you saw so many weddings that day. :bride:

I completely forgot it was Saturday so I didn't even think to expect that. It really made the picture taking fun because we all love brides!

Oh Mary Ellen, I am so sorry about your dad. Glad you got to be with him at the end and also that he is in a better place. I will keep your mom in my prayers, and your family as well.

Thank you Wendy. I am very grateful that the hospice nurse called me when she did. I was planning to spend Friday night there, so I would have been too late. Even though I was exhausted yesterday, it was worth it.

I enjoyed your update, loved the pictures! Especially the beach pics! What a gorgeous spot!

HHI is such a special beach. It's so unique. I'm so happy I discovered the Disney resort there. I don't think I would have traveled there otherwise.

I do too! Fortunately, I am not included in that group because if I started drinking in the morning I would be done by 1 pm. :rotfl2:

Mary Ellen- I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Sending positive thoughts and energy to you, your mom and your family. I know it will be difficult for all of you for some time.

:grouphug:

Thanks Dee. I really appreciate your kind thoughts. It is going to be rough for my mom for awhile. I think I was very prepared for this so I am relieved my dad is in a better place. A place where he can move around freely.

I loved all of the pictures of the beach, but I think my favorite was the first one you posted of the two beach chairs with the dune grass. Now, all I can hear is Jimmy Buffett's Lone Palm

"Out on the beach there are two empty chairs"

Nice! Perfect tune to go with that picture. It really was a great morning on the beach. I just loved it there.

That is some really cool stuff out on the beach, but the shells looked more like sand half-dollars.

They are. They were really cool. I was trying to find a whole one, but no luck. I did enjoy the shells on the beach. I love stuffing my pockets with beach shells.

The picture with the purple was edited, not with a filter right? Really pretty.

Not a filter, just a photobucket edit. I enjoy fooling around with those when I have extra time.

What nice pictures from Beaufort. Nothing seems very crowded on your trip. That's nice!

I went the week after Easter, so I think it was a slow week. Right after the Easter rush and before the summer crowds. It was a great time to visit. Late October was even better, IMHO.

Too funny about all of the brides. The one with the Pabst Blue Ribbon cracked me up. I can understand not wanting to drink red wine in a wedding gown, and I loved a good beer as much as the next guy, but not sure PBR would be my wedding day choice!

MIne either. :rotfl2: I did think that was an odd choice, but who know why she picked it? I think my dad used to drink those a long, long time again. I also saw her light up a cigarette which just looked so wrong in that pretty dress.

Oh Mary Ellen  I'm so sorry. And also so glad you were able to spend time with him when you could. Prayers are definitely being sent for you and your family :grouphug:

Beautiful pictures of the beach chairs.

Beautiful pictures of the beach chairs.

Thank you Pam. I was grateful I got the call to come sooner then I had originally planned. That was a blessing.

I'm so glad you like the beach chair pictures! I wish I was sitting in one if them right now!

So very sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers for you and your family in the days ahead.

Amazing photos, as always. I love all of the beach photos. I, too, am very partial to the empty beach chair pics. They just looks so inviting and just scream relaxation!!

Love all the aquatic life that you saw on your run! I am a big sea shell collector -- bet I would enjoy early morning walks there!

Beaufort looks so charming. All the cities you've visited do!

And, yes, I DO think you could make a career as a paparazzi if you wanted to! ;)

I have to go back and read your updates, but before I did that I wanted to offer my condolences. I am so sorry for your loss. Regardless of how expected or unexpected, the loss of a parent is not an easy one. I will say a prayer for your mother as I am sure this is a very difficult time for her.

What a lovely place! I would love to go inside.

Isn't that a darling house? There were so many beautiful old house in the south. Such a great place.

Your beach pictures are wonderful!

Thanks!

Thoughts and prayer for you and your family in the days ahead.

Thanks Caren. I really appreciate your thoughts and prayers. It means a lot.

Thanks C. I really appreciate it! The days ahead are going to be rough for my mom.

Amazing photos, as always. I love all of the beach photos. I, too, am very partial to the empty beach chair pics. They just looks so inviting and just scream relaxation!!

Don't they? I think that's why I took SO many of them. I just couldn't stop. How I would love to be in one of those chairs right about now. :thumbsup2

Love all the aquatic life that you saw on your run! I am a big sea shell collector -- bet I would enjoy early morning walks there!

There are some cool shells that wash up and some of them are so tiny. Tiny, yet perfect. You want to take them, but then again they are so fragile that its probably best just to leave them alone.

Beaufort looks so charming. All the cities you've visited do!

All of those low country cities were so amazing. I am glad we ventured out from HHI and got to see all these cool places. It was fun.

And, yes, I DO think you could make a career as a paparazzi if you wanted to! ;)

:rotfl2: First I will have to invest in a longer lens, but I think I have almost perfected the art of looking like I am taking a picture of something else and then *bam* Smile! :rotfl:

Thanks Annmarie. You are correct - you can never be completely prepared. I just have to focus on my mom now and in the days ahead. It's going to be so lonely for her. I feel so bad about that and about the fact that I can't see her on a regular basis because of the distance.

Mary Ellen - I am so sorry about the loss of your dad.

And as always your pictures are wonderful. I do love the empty beach chair pictures, post as many as you want. I am imagining myself sitting in one. Ahhh, so peaceful.

Also, the bride pictures are terrific. You would be an awesome paparazzi! I vote for bride #2. Especially her hair - so pretty.

Take care.

Rebecca

Mary Ellen, please accept my condolences, I'm so, so sorry for the loss of your father.
I think we'd all understand if you didn't want to be on here for a bit.

I will be praying for you and your family, especially your mom, bless y'alls hearts.

Please, let us know if you need anything.

 I am so very sorry for your family's loss my friend. Sending good vibes and healing prayers. :goodvibes Hospice is an amazing service.

How is your mother doing?

MaryEllen,

So sorry for your loss. Sending thoughts and prayers for your family through this time.

Beaufort is so pretty and you really scored on the brides. The PBR drinking bride is my favorite. That picture with the label showing makes it seem like she is not the happiest bride. :lmao: I hope that was just a moment.

Love all the beach pictures!!!

I apologize for not replying to your update sooner, have had a busy few weeks. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. After the incident at HHI and switching to a new job and now the passing of your father, I am sure you are ready for 2013 to be over. :sad2: My thoughts and prayers go out to your family right now, especially your mother.

Your photographs are gorgeous, as always. Your beach shots make the place look so peaceful. :goodvibes With tourist season in full force at my beaches, I am envious of that serenity. :rotfl:

Wow, 3 brides in one afternoon/evening. Must've been a great day for a wedding. Based on your pictures, it looks like they had plenty of beautiful places to hold the event.

So sorry for your loss !!Hospice is a wonderful organization, they took care of my dear mother in law in her final weeks !! They gave such an accurate description of the final days , that her death was well anticipated and even though we did not know exactly which day we knew it was coming soon !!
Great pix of Beaufort and the brides !! Is it pronounced BEWford or BOWford ?????

Aw man i'm so sorry for you loss, Mary Ellen. :goodvibes I'll be praying for both you and your mom for comfort. I hope your mom will keep herself busy with different hobbies. I'd imagine it'd be so difficult from being busy 24 hours a day, to having not much to do.

Beautiful beach chair pictures! I think you'd definitely make for a good pap! :thumbsup2
