I Think We Should Go Again! A Nov '14 PTR! *TR Link Posted 11/25!*

I was on vacation so I was a little behind on the Dis. Back to your FP+ selections, I think they are great! Can't wait to hear what you think of SDMT! I had some that "overlapped" too, but everything worked out fine. Some of it may be that the rides are far apart, so they want to let you know you'll need travel time, etc. I always found thought that if we went to a ride right at the beginning of a FP+ timeframe, we had a lot of time to kill in between that and the next one that was beginning at the next hour. So I think you'll be fine. :)

Your Pool day + MVMCP sounds really fun! I'd love to meet the dwarfs! I hope you get to again. Mary Poppins & Bert would be cool too! Rapunzel and Flynn are high on my list, but I know they only meet during the parties and I haven't made it to one of those since 2010. :(

I hope you had a nice vacation! Thanks for the clarification on the time overlap :thumbsup2

Thank you! Hopefully you will get to the Christmas party next year so you can meet the Dwarfs and Rapunzel/Flynn!! :)

Hi Alexis! I finally had a chance to come over here and get caught up on your PTR. I really like all of your plans so far and I'm glad you got the room discount and all of the FP+ that you wanted!

Glad you are still following along!! Thank you! :goodvibes

Hi, joining in. I read through all your PTR and am excited to follow along. Glad you were able to snag that RO discount, awesome!

We are also planning on the same character meals as you, so I am very curious to see what you think of them.

All your day plans and FP+ selections sound great!

Looking forward to reading more :goodvibes

WELCOME!! Thanks for joining in!

Yay for PARTY NIGHT!!!

Looks like a lot of fun, and I think its wise to have another pool day beforehand! Thats what were doing with the MNSSHP too, lol! Great minds... :thumbsup2

Great minds certainly do think alike ;) Gotta rest up so we can PARTY all night long right?? :cool1:

Sounds really fun! I think you guys will have an awesome time!
I think this is my daughter's birthday (13th) so we may pass each other as we are on our way out and you guys are on your way in!:goodvibes

Yes this is the 13th! Would be so funny if we cross paths!

Sounds like a lovely day. I always say I'm going to have a pool day and it just never seems to work out. We will be at MVMCP that night too. It should be a fun night.

YAY, hopefully it will be great for both of us! It's hard scheduling a pool day when there's parks to be at, but I know it will be the right choice!

45 DAYS TO GO!!! It seems so close but so far! And I feel like I don't have too much left to do! I'm waiting for our window to open to make a lunch FP for Be Our Guest and need to start buying gift cards to take with us. Other than that, and packing which is too soon to start, there's not much else!

Day 7 - Magic Kingdom

Our last full day in the parks has us at Magic Kingdom!

FP+:
-Peter Pan (2:00-3:00pm)
-Space Mountain (3:45-4:45)
-Jungle Cruise (5:00-6:00)

Today we will definitely be getting to the park early for our only chance to watch the Welcome Show!

Our first stop of the day will be heading to meet Merida! This will be a new character greet for us and I'm pretty excited! Mom & I really enjoy watching Brave and she's equally excited to meet Merida :)

After that, I figured we'd head over to Tomorrowland since we will already be near there. Hopefully waits will still be short and we can ride Space Mountain & Buzz. After that, I was thinking we can head to the other side of the park and ride Splash and maybe Haunted Mansion. I'm estimating it will be about 10:30 when we head over there, so I'm HOPING wait times for Splash will still be low. Any thoughts?

This is the day I'd like to get our BOG FP so hopefully I can get a time around 12:30. After lunch I'm hoping we can catch Gaston's M&G set, another character that we've yet to meet!

We then will use our FP+ to ride Peter Pan! While we are in Fantasyland we will probably also check out Philharmagic :)

After that, I plan for us to head to Tomorrowland and do all the rides we haven't done yet: Carousel of Progress, Peoplemover, and maybe Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. We will probably also ride Buzz again and we'll have the FP+ for Space Mountain.

Hopefully this will leave us at around 4pm and we can head to the hub and catch Dream Along With Mickey, a personal favorite of mine and Dad's :)

Once that's over we can use our FP+ for Jungle Cruise (perhaps it will be the Jingle Cruise by then??). The park closes at 7pm tonight, so after that maybe we'll try to squeeze another ride or two in before heading out of the park.

We will be spending our last night at the Contemporary, dining at Chef Mickey's!! I'm really excited to be eating here and think it will be an awesome way to spend our last evening! We have a 7:45 reservation. I'm not sure if we should take the monorail or just walk from MK. Has anyone walked from MK to the Contemporary before? Is it an easy walk?

If by chance we finish by 9:30, I'd like for us to go on the observation deck to check out the fireworks. If not, we'll probably just take a look around the resort before heading back to Pop!

With all of the hysteria around Anna and Elsa, you shouldn't have a very long wait for Merida. Jim and I walked straight there at rope drop and we were third in line. Her meet didn't start till 9:15 but we were in and out before 9:30.

From what I've been reading lately, the BOG FP window opens somewhere between 27 and 24 days out. I'm planning on getting one for December.

Definitely try to go see Gaston! His meet was one of my all time favorites.

I'm jealous of your Chef Mickey ADR! :rotfl: I decided just recently that I want to eat there in December but of course there are now ADRs left. I've been stalking the WDW site for a few weeks but no luck so far. I'm hoping around 45 days out some will open as there tends to be more cancellations then.

Sounds like a fun day! I hope you get the BOG lunch for the time you want it. I wasn't able to get a dinner BOG last trip, and we had other things planned around lunch, so I still haven't eaten there. Next trip it's priority. :)

Chef Mickey's will be so much fun! One of my favorites. :)

I'm definitely happy to hear that about Merida, hoping we have a similar experience as you! Best of luck to both of us on getting BOG FP. I really hope we do get to meet Gaston...We met so many characters last trip but he slipped through the cracks!

I'm pretty excited to experience Chef Mickey's! I hope something opens up for you!! :goodvibes

Thank you! Yes you definitely should make it a priority next trip, it's something that definitely should be experienced! I'm excited to try Chef Mickey's, I'm gad to hear it's a favorite of yours :)

Sounds like the perfect end!

I loved our interaction with Merida last time, she was so spunky and fun, just like in the movie!

I don't think you'll have any issues accomplishing all this in your day, crowds shouldn't be too bad.

Chef Mickey!!! <3 I love CM, and you're right, what a great end to your day, and you get to say goodbye to the Mouse himself!

PS I have heard it's a nice, short 5 min walk! :thumbsup2

Thank you! And thanks for your encouragement that we'll be able to do everything!

Ohh yay, walking is definitely something we will consider that night then!

Finally caught up and I can't believe how time has flown! Your trip is SO close!

Glad to hear making your FP+ selections went well! The system has changed so much since the testing we did in September that I'm scared to try to use it in January! :scared1:

Thanks for still following along! :goodvibes Omg its crazy..and it feels like yesterday the both of us were planning LAST year's trips!!

So far I've had no problems with the system, but I know the real test will come when we actually get there! :rotfl:

I know! Where did this year go?!

Glad to hear you haven't had problems this far! :lmao: I'm sure I'll be asking for your expertise at our 60 day mark!

37 days!! I think October is going to go pretty fast, so Disney will be here before I know it!!

Day 8 - Animal Kingdom

Our last day in Disney, which will no doubt come WAY to soon :( We will be checking out and leaving our bags in storage before heading to Animal Kingdom for a few hours!

FP+:
-Kilimanjaro Safaris (9:25-10:25am)
-Expedition Everest (11:35-12:35pm)
-Meet Mickey and Minnie (2:10-3:10pm)

Once we get to the park we will probably ride KS first thing. I took the FP for it just in case, but knowing us we will probably be on the ride before that time and not even use the FP. After that we will check out the Pangani Forest Trail, a first for all of us!

After that we might head over and ride EE without our FP if the wait time is low. Dad has already said he doesn't want to ride, he didn't like it last time. Mom still isn't sure if she wants to so that will probably be a game time decision. EE is one of my faves so I definitely want to get a few rides in! We may also check out the 11am Finding Nemo show if we are in the mood/have time for it. Then it will be time to use the FP for EE! Who knows, it might just be me riding 3 times in a row with everyone's MB haha

For lunch we are without a doubt going to Yak & Yeti QS! We all loved it last time and can't wait to eat there again! After lunch we might check out the Maharajah Jungle Trek and the Discovery Island Trails. I also definitely want to meet Dasiy at the Landing!

Our last item of the day will most likely be meeting Mickey & Minnie with our final FP.

After that it will be time to head back to All Star Sports to catch the UN-magical Express to the airport :( Our flight was originally supposed to be at 7:15 but got pushed to 7:45. A half hour isn't a huge deal, but I'm wondering if I should call Disney Transportation and let them know my fight time change in case it affects the ME pickup? Either way, I'm guessing our pickup will be around 4pm.

And that's it! We'll be home before we know it and I'll be dreaming of plans of a future trip.

The last day is always sad. :( But it will be fun to spend it at AK. If it were me personally, I'd probably try to ride the safari first, then also use the FP+. It's one of my favorite things to do. :)

The Pangani Forest Trail is awesome! We do it every trip and I love seeing the gorillas and hippos. :) I hope you enjoy it.

Meeting Mickey and Minnie last will be a great send off. :)

Sounds like a nice finish to the trip.

I'm trying to remember your exact trip dates right now because the Pangani Forest Trail is partially closed through 11/14. Hopefully you are there after that date.

I haven't eaten at the Yak & Yeti CS because I'm just too picky. :rotfl: I do love Flame Tree though.

I wonder if you will get to see Mickey and Minnie in there Christmas costumes? I know they dress for Christmas there but I don't know when that starts. I've got a FP for them for December cause I'm hoping for the Christmas costumes.

Boo on the Un-magical Express. It's funny how the same bus ride is so different emotionally coming and going to the airport. I believe you only need to call if your flight number changes but I'm not certain. I guess it wouldn't hurt anything to call and it's better safe than sorry!

Sounds like a good last day. It is so sad when you start getting to the end!!

I can't believe we can say we are going next month!!! It sounds like the last few days of your trip will be so much fun. The wait seems even longer now that all the planning is done.

Looks like we have the same trip dates. Your trip plans look great! My wife and I are surprising our kids with this trip. We are also bringing along some friends who have never been and their twin daughters. Can't wait to break the surprise to the kids! In the meantime, it's fun looking ahead to a fun trip. Your updates have definitely given me some ideas for our little ones. Hope you have a great trip!

Thank you! Wow I had no idea about the Pangani Trail. We are actually going there on the 15th so hopefully that means we will miss the partial closure, unless it gets extended. I have a feeling we won't get Mickey & Minnie in their costumes, but if we do it will be a welcome surprise! I think you have a good chance to though, so I hope you do :) And thank you for the magical express info!

Sounds like a good last day. It is so sad when you start getting to the end!!

Thank you! It is sad, but just an excuse to plan another right? ;)

I can't believe we can say we are going next month!!! It sounds like the last few days of your trip will be so much fun. The wait seems even longer now that all the planning is done.

Omg it's crazy exciting! You're right though, when the main planning is done it does feel like time moves slower!

How exciting! Where are you all staying? Surprising the kids will be so fun! I hope you all have a great trip too, I am sure you will!!! :goodvibes

We are staying at the CBR(I think that's the correct initials. I'm not great with all the abbreviations here:) and our friends are staying at Wilderness Lodge. We've been planning on how to reveal the trip to all the kids. We fly out on Saturday, Nov. 8th in the mid-day so we are thinking about taking them all to breakfast and then taking them to a local park for a scavenger hunt. On the hunt they would find envelopes which will have the words - We are going to Disney World today. The hardest part will be packing everything up without them noticing. Should be fun!

All eight of us will arrive on that Saturday evening and then we'll attack the parks starting on Sunday morning.

Not much to update but I still wanted to make a post this week!

We are now ONE MONTH away from Disney! It feels SO real now!! We got some Mickey mail over the weekend- our DME tags! I expect our Magic Bands will be arriving soon as I think yesterday was the last day to customize.

One thing that I am a little nervous about is getting a BOG FP for lunch. I'm hearing that no one has been able to get anything for November yet. Some people suspect they are playing around with the system. Not sure what's going on, but I really hope I still have the opportunity to get a FP for lunch. I will be a little disappointed if we don't end up getting to eat there!

But nonetheless, nothing but excitement right now :yay::yay:

I hope everyone is having a great week :)
