Can you imagine what non Disney lovers would say to us if they knew how much time we spend hovering over our computers waiting for MB or FP+ or for glitches to be fixed in our accounts?! :rotfl:

I'm starting to think I'm crazy :crazy2:

At least if you are waiting for MB or FP+ you are probably actually planning a trip.... nope, not me. In between trips and just spending embarrassing amounts of time reading about wdw and giving my opinions on other peoples planning! Sad but true :)

Anxiously awaiting Wishes dessert party to open for December with quite a few other people on another thread. And yes, my sis thinks I'm totally crazy. :)

That face is exactly me right now!!! Hahahah
I wouldn't want to tell people how much I'm on here... ;) haha
Even my boyfriend at first was like, "How can you just sit on your computer and do that all day?!"
Now he's more excited about our trip to Florida, and understands and appreciates my Disney planning :cool1:

I always have the intention of spending just a few minutes checking things....and then it turns into an hour. I wish I could be this focused with other things in my life :rotfl:

LOL, my "just 10 minutes" this am has turned into 3 hours!

Ya wanna know what I think is even more crazy? Spending 3K on a vacation with your kids and ending up with no ADRs, no FPs, and standing in lines for 2 hours to ride TSM. ALL because you didn't think to research. WHAT else would you buy for 3K or even 1K that you wouldn't research?? :confused3

People who are not well prepared will pay for it at Disney- whether they realize it or not. I hear all the time how people HATE disney. When I ask why they say stuff like -we couldn't find anywhere to eat, we had lines that were over 2 hours long, my kid couldn't see the parade. blah blah blah. ALL of this can be fixed by being a DISer!:wizard: WE are the normal ones :) Or so I tell myself :rotfl2::lmao:

:)

Luckily DH worked through his doubts when we were planning our wedding. Or, rather, when I was planning his dream wedding (I wanted Vegas) and required the help of the internet b/c I had never imagined some big foofy* wedding and my friends all just did what their moms wanted and didn't feel like talking weddings all the time. He had his foofy wedding**, we had a great honeymoon cruise (planned with the help of cruisecritic), and our disneyworld/land trips get better and better because of the internet.

He's lost all of his old objections. Thank goodness.

I wish I could be this focused with other things in my life :rotfl:

So true.

*"foofy" = big poofy gown, fancy, lots of guests, lots of stress for the planner.

**and I'm still owed a MY-style vow renewal. Which I started pre-planning while dancing with DH at our foofy wedding. :)

YUP!!!

It's like we're all speaking in some secret code language that no one else would understand: MDE, FP, MB....:mic:

I should be getting ready to go out....but here I am, on the DIS, oops.:lmao:

Really? I think you're just fine. It's everyone else ....... :rotfl:

Yeah!!! When my boyfriend told his brother we were going to Disney, he was like, "ooo expensive" (this brother who said this also just got back from a week's trip to Mexico....) It's really not that expensive if you watch it. DBF and I are driving not flying, basically eating all of our own food, not staying on site so we can only pay about 100 a night for a room with a full kitchen.

I second that emotion.

I've been to Disney about 7 times. Two times as a DIS reader and I still feel like a novice missing out here and there!

Let me be the Devil's advocate here for just a minute; it's also possible for newbies to come home disappointed having made a great plan but for whatever reasons been unable to execute it. Reality (rides down, crowd levels out of control, cranky kids, a menu change at a must-do restaurant) are all things that can completely change the way a day should have gone. I say plan away but Plan "B" should always include staying flexible and taking joy in the moment. I've talked to lots of non-planners that LOVED their Disney trips even though they accomplished what (to me) sounded like very little. The key to their success was apparently not knowing what they were missing and not having had many dashed expectations. I know that sounds scandalous to those of us that feel the need to "make the most" of our time and money. :upsidedow
