I think someone from above is trying to tell me something

I rec'd a small pin shipment from WDW Merch. One pin was the Musical MM (for $15 -- cough, cough).
It doesn't work. :( Big ol' clunky pin that doesn't play a thing.
I called WDW Merch and again, bless their hearts, they are taking me at my word and resending this pin.
But in less than a month, that's two defective pins.
So is this my message to STOP buying WDW pins!? Or just stick to the simple rack pins. ;) Use the KISS method -- Keep It Simple Stupid.
DH says maybe if we get one that works, maybe he can see why the one we have doesn't. But I am guessing I'll just rip the back off and wear it as a regular pin.
Are there more defective pins? I was also thinking of the WDW NYE pins that were defective too.
Or is this because there are just so many more pins out now, period?

That musical Mickey Mouse march pin is adorable! I acquired one today. I hope you get one that works. Actually we got together with Disney friends who just came back fromWDW or DLR. I acquired quite a haul!!

I think the musical ones might be in the same category.

Remember that Christmas pin -- Mickey dressed as Santa with a Sack over his Shoulder?

I bought four -- three for friends and one to trade.

Luckily, before I wrapped the first one for shipping, I checked that it worked.....it did not.

Of course, I did not think of checking while still in WDW, where this could be easily exchanged. Oh, no. I was already home.

I quickly checked my three remaining pins, and luckily again, all of these worked.

Since one was meant to be a trader, it was no big deal. I sent out the pins to those people who had asked me to buy this one. I talked with WDW Merchandise, but decided I just didn't need this headache as a trader. I returned it to the local DS for credit.

I will be hard pressed to be another light up pin. This was not the first time I had trouble with light up pins. I love them because they're so beautiful, but I can't stand the hassle.

with the Magical Moments pin....it was not a magical moment for me...when you spend that
kind of money, that ends up not doing much of anything, and the battery keeps dying before
you can get into the parks to see what it interacts w/.

The pin would last about 30 min. before it would die again...I had the cm replace it for free several
times, but then that got old FAST!!

So I took them all back...I guess these pins sounded like a good idea to Disney at the time. too bad they didn't
research them further.. I don't see many people wearing them in the parks anymore.

Then we bought the Mickey,Minnie Valentine pin, and the back broke off while I was putting
it on my lanyard...
we did hear that there was a 40% breakage on the NY eve pin..

They will replace them, but in the case of some of the LE..if they are sold out..you may end up not getting the pin
at all..

Oh well, rack pins are good...
