I think our family vacation ruined our family!!!

Your "out-laws" sound like mine-just up the dial on hyperactive, rude and either no parenting or beating them style of parenting and you got my SIL&BIL!! I wish I was joking, but I'm not. I wouldn't ever think to go ANYWHERE with them-I don't even like having them at my house!!I know I sound like a meanie, but you have no idea how many parties, holidays, or family events they have ruined!!

Well this does sound just like my sister and hubby. He beats her often. They scream at each other in front of the kids. they yell constantly at the kids, getting in their faces. On top of it, sister is bipolar and brother in law is just an idiot.

I didnt want to go with them to begin with. I knew this would happen. DH said no we aren't going, but I was sure that they would act like adults instead of acting like my 1 year old. boy was I wrong. He says they are not to come to our house ever again and he dont care if we ever see them again. I feel sorry for the kids. they see this behavior and the oldest who is 11 acts just like them. the middle who is 10 dont act too bad, and the youngest who is 6 is a whinny little #$##$%. Would not walk the whole time we were there. My Dad even had to tell the oldest at the air port on the way home to sit down 11 times in a row. I counted. I dont care what they think, but it bothers me that my mom is mad at me for "ruining" everything. My dad keeps telling her it wasnt my fault but she just keeps saying if she wouldnt have went off then none of this would have happened. I guess she has to blame her crappy vacation on someone.

You did not ruin the vacation and I hope everyone will realize that sooner than later. If it is ever mentioned again I would speak up for myself, and make sure everyone realizes that they're lucky you were in the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH and no one ended up in jail. If ever another family VACAY is planned kindly excuse yourself from the DRAMA, and go do your own thing.

We are planning a trip in June '09 with my parents and the niece and nephew that they are raising. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh! Now that I think about all that has been posted, we are going to need ALOT of time away from each other to survive!!!! Maybe we will meet for dinner each night..............................or something:scared: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Your mom is blaming you because she needs someone to blame. Sometimes it is easier to just go along with the troublemaker in order to keep the peace, and you didn't do that. That is why she is upset. I bet she wanted you to just suck it up and placate your sister's family for the sake of "family unity."

She'll get over it.

A big family trip can work if expectations are realistic. We did DL in May 2005 with a total of 14 people. It was me, DH, DD3 & DD3months, DFIL & his wife, her son &his wife & 3 kids (12, 8, 6) and DSIL. I was nervous going into the trip because I really wanted DD3 to have a great first trip. We did some stuff together, we did some stuff apart. It was the first time spending much time with DH's stepbrother and family, so perhaps that was why there was less stress, and everybody felt comfortable going separate ways for part of the time. There was moments that weren't great, but the majority of the time it was good and I would do it again.

My advice is to have radios or cell phones so you can meet up if you want to. Plan to do one or two group dinners. You might get to have some adult time if your parents will take all the kids for an evening or afternoon.:)

Good lord...I'm sorry to hear your trip was unmagical! I'm starting to get REALLY nervous now about my trip with my sister, her husband, my nephew and our parents now! We spent one day at Six Flags Friday and I was ready to wring BIL's neck! :confused3

OMG!!!!

you have EVERY right to vent about this

I had a BIG FAMILY TRIP that was supposed to be incredible BUT it turned into a REALLY HARD LESSON LEARNED!!! i will NEVER do that again....when i go on vacation i want to enjoy myself, not deal with moaning & negativity..i get enough negativity at home!!!;)

Id just ignore all that BS that the family is dishing out...they wouldnt know a good time if they smoked it:lmao: :lmao: which by the way was pretty ballsy of them to bring that!! what nerve!!!!!maybe you should have had him busted & dragged off to jail & then you could of had a great trip minus the losers!!!;)

i think you need what I need after my family MESS of a trip...a REDO!!!!!!

hope you can get that redo:hug:

I have had entirely too many WDW trips that went that way. This yr DS and I are doing it alone and I can't wait.

I can totally sympathize with you and I'm sorry you had to deal with it. Nothing like going with your family to ruin the magic! :rotfl:

I LOVE my family, but I don't want to do Disney with them. We all went to WDW when dd was only 5 mos. The trip overall was fine but it was so hard traveling with all of us. I'm a huge planner, they are not planners at all. We like to go early and hit it hard, one sis and nephew are NOT early risers.

I have just determined that it's best for us to take a Disney vacation on our own. Th

I cannot believe they took the chance to go through airport security to get weed on a plane!!! Didn't they know they could have bought it there?!?!?! Probablly better stuff and alot cheaper too!!:rotfl2:

lol jk everyone.....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Crazy........
