My mom called me this weekend to say her work didn't approve her time off for my wedding. :sad1: I'm just so sick and tired of it being one thing or another. The good news is it's due to her being promoted, and she offered to pay for us to move the date back a few months but I feel exhausted from this whole thing, and it hasn't even really started yet. It's my mom of all people, I can't have my wedding without my mom being there. I don't even know what we should do anymore. Ben took me out of town for the weekend so I didn't have to think about it. I'm just starting to think we're not going to have our day.

I guess what's a few months in the long run, right? :confused3

I am so sorry. I know how the "one thing after another" feels right now. I am dealing with 2 unsupportive people (not in my family) right now and it's difficult. I feel like I wish everything would just work out. Hopefully, she will be able to come. :flower3:

Oh yeah, and the date changing.... sucks!!!! I have been like the President of that club lately. :rotfl: We need like a stress support thread ::yes::

I'm sorry Ashley. A few months seems like forever when you are waiting to marry the love of your life. On the other hand, you're right, you can't get married without your mom. I hope that you and Ben are able to come to an agreement about postponing. Maybe you won't have to postpone too far. Wish you the best with your decision!

I know with everything going on this is the last thing that you need. The only encouragement that I have for you is that all of these challenges are just making you stronger as a couple. Hang in there!!! I know it stinks, but you can definately make the best of it!

Ash-
I am so sorry. In the end, it will all turn out the way it's supposed to, ok? Someone up there is testing you. Just assume that they know best and have only your best intentions in mind. Maybe your mom can get her time approved before you set your heart on a new date? Can you move it backwards-- like less time than opposed to more?

:grouphug:

Hopefully, everything will turn out for the best. Just know that we are all saying a little prayer that your wedding will be all that you hope it will be. I know it doesn't seem like it right now, but everything happens for a reason.

Hope it all goes better from now on! :grouphug:

Thank you soooo much for all the support, it was definitely what I needed.

I'm just trying to see things on the bright side right now. I think with postponing Ben will be up to waking up early for a MK photo shoot, and we're talking about upgrading to a Garden Suite at the Boardwalk.

Ya'll are just the best, thanks for listening.

JUst wanted to say I am thinking about you. In the long run of things it will be the best :)

Let us know what date you are thinking of so we can cheer you on :)

 I'm sure it will work out for you hun. You guys have been through so much. Just remember... there's always support here. :grouphug:

Hang in there there is always going to be someone that has a problem with the date and time of the wedding.- I have the same problem but it's not with my mom it with his mom. We are all pulling for you! Let us know on what new date you and Ben decide on. Just think of it as a little more time to plan and think out the things that you want added to your wedding.

wow ashley youve really been back & forth with everything. i would have eloped by know, you poor thing. hope youre able to work something out this time, isnt there something your mom can do with work for such a special occasion? what day is your wedding? could you switch it to a weekend so she wont need off. in the long run its the love & commitment you two share.

We have thought about eloping SOOO many times. :rotfl: Even this past weekend we were staying at a hotel in front of a courthouse, and it was VERY tempting! My mom's company is moving her to Chicago during that month. I would switch it to a weekend, but we're an intimate so we're limited to Monday through Thursday. We're looking at October now, during out fall break since I will be in summer school this upcoming summer. Just hoping it won't be too crowded there!

October will probably be better than in May or summer. Definately less crowded then in the summer. Good luck and best wishes for a great future (sounds like he is a keeper ~ what a sweetie to take you out of town for the weekend!!)

I love October weddings! We found that the MK had long lines for the rides on Friday the 22nd, and MNSSH was going on, and it was during the Food & Wine Festival so EPCOT was a bit more crowded than usual, but overall it wasn't too crowded, better than the summer. We spent our last day at AK and just about walked on every ride.

I know this is a setback and it stinks. I just wanted to share that my mom passed away unexpectedly 4 months before our wedding. We thought about getting married in the hospital a few days before she passed, but some of her last words were to have the Disney wedding as planned, she would be there. Rev. Jack said a special prayer for her during the ceremony. It still makes me cry.

I would have done ANYTHING to have had my mom there at my wedding - you have the opportunity to have your mom at yours - don't miss it!!
Best Wishes
