I think I have become obsessed with just planning a trip

Since I have found this awesome site I have completely become obsessed with planning our trip. Thanks to you guys...I have bought the Unofficial Guide, the Passporter book. the Birbaum's book. I'm gonig to be broke before I even leave.

We are closing on our new house this weekend and getting ready to decorate and move. I should be excited about the house of my dreams coming my way. But all I can think about it Disney.

Same here! I have all the books. Had our first trip last month, with six people, and planned it way in advance. Next Jan. we'll have 15 and I'm the planner! I found out I LIKE being the planner for people I love!

Part of the fun is in the planning. I am constantly polling my family about what they want to do, which resort should we stay at this time, etc.

We haven't even taken our September 2007 trip yet and I'm wanting to plan my 2008 trip. Hubby just shakes his head at me and gives me that stare.

I decided a week ago that we're (fiance/will be husband by then) are going to WDW - now I spend at least SOME time every day planning the trip, daydreaming, or on this site! And we're not going until Sept '08!

This is a surprise trip for our kids so I can't talk about it or research it in front of them. So, the DIS is it!!

I am a super type A obsessive compulsive planner, I love it! I take forever planning and researching before we go and last time it paid off HUGE!

We had the best, most relaxing vacation ever! The kids loved the magic I created for them through the tips I found here! We never waited more than 10 minutes for a ride, our oldest did Splash Mountain & Big Thunder 3 times each! We ate dinner with Pooh & friends, Lunch in Norway with the Princesses, Breakfast with Mickey, Donald & friends too! It was amazing to see their faces! We went on every single ride we wanted to.

I remember telling friends of ours, who were also going to WDW, that I booked character meals 180 days out at 7am and they thought I was crazy but.......when we all later talked about our trips - they onsite and us offsite - they couldn't believe all the extra magic we had despite the fact we were offsite. They have since asked for my planning tips for their future trips!

I invited my single sis with us for this trip, and at first she laughed when I bought us (yes already - I have 1 suitcase packed) all matching tops and ball caps for our park days; when I asked if she was o.k. with the character meals because I needed to book them April 23rd, what her top 5 ride requests were so I could ensure I included them in our touring plan, when I talked about crowd levels and which park which day she truly wanted to have me committed!

Then........she watched my home movie, saw how great the matching outfits looked and how easily she could see my kids in the crowd, saw the look in my girls faces with the characters and saw how many rides we went on. Now she is a true believer in my planning too!

Obsession can be a good thing!

Well glad to see there are plenty of others just like me.

My dh is asking me everyday to make decisions on furniture, light fixtures, paint colors etc. And all I can think about is planning this Disney trip.

He thinks we'll go one time and I'll get my fix. Little does he know.... I plan on going atleast one a year.

On our trip 2-10 thru 2-14 this year my DH and Mom thought i was a bit nuts for all the planning....they sure enjoyed all the benefits of my obsession...DH had just as much if not more fun than the kids!

Started planning next trip the day we got back...I love the DIS!

Thank goodness I'm not the only Disney crazy one here! Since our decision to actually set a date for our first WDW trip, I'm consumed with planning and researching! I've dreamt about Disney. Everything I buy affects Disney ("instead of spending that money, I could save it for WDW", "I wonder if this will still fit for our trip", "we need to get our matching shirts for WDW", "remember to save your money for our trip".... I'm completely obsessed! I watch everything Disney on tv (sometimes over and over)
I'm a full-time nursing student and I hurry through studying so I can read my passporter or research on the net, or read all the valuable information on this site!! I'm so glad to know that my behavior is normal and that it won't land me in the crazy farm!! I guess being crazy for Disney is a good thing. Thanks for this wonderful site!!

I'm obsessed with this board as well. My DH thinks I'm nuts planning this early (I started really getting serious back in Jan). I told him about this board and how kewl it is! Hey .. I get a lot of great ideas and advice from here! This place ROCKS!!!

I know exactly what you mean, lol. I've been posting for about 2 weeks now. It's totally addictive. I research and read these boards everyday. And our trip isn't until spring 2008!

As I dropped my 3 1/2 off to preschool this morning she said "Mommy, can we go to WDW again?" I replied sure we'll go soon (we've only been home for 2 weeks from our last trip) "I want to leave tonight" (we left in the evening after her school). "we have to save some money to go again" "But I wished it " she said, you know the song in the afternoon parade says "make a wish and your dreams will come true".

My favorite of her sayings is "Disney World is the best world of all!"
