So I booked a trip for Oct 20 -27, and noticed that the free dining dates are Oct 23rd - 29th. I booked through AAA and will be calling them on Monday to discuss, but is there any way I can take advantage of the free dining just for the 23-27th? It sounds like my only option might be to have a room-only reservation the first 3 nights with no DDP, and then book a 2nd reservation with the DDP for the remainder. If that is correct, isn't possible we will have to also change rooms at the resort once we check-out and then check back-in?

it is possible but they are saying there is a message going around that you can't pick up tickets early so you may have to buy 2 sets of tickets - that may be more than what the dinning would cost you

Our trip is Oct 19-28, so we arrive 4 days before free dining is available. But I still do not see why for the last 5 days, we could not have free dining. Believe me, if I offered to pay for the dining plan, Disney would gladly take my $$. We talked to a reservation CM and a supervisor, and after both suggested splitting the stay, they were stunned that the cost would be almost $600.00 more to get 'free' dining. We sent an email to guest services asking for an explanation, so we'll see what they say.
