No, I don't need the straight jacket thank you! ;)

As you know my Mum has had half of her stomach removed (gastric cancer) and has been having a rough week ever since the surgery. She has been at her lowest ebb and deeply depressed too. She has a chest infection and had been vomiting daily.

Last night she had a lovely dream. Mum has had very frightening nightmares up to then. My Dad died in 1998. They went back to a house that we reckon was their home, and Dad watched the television like he used to whilst Mum made them a meal. My Dad asked my Mum whether he thought she should of left the hospital without letting anyone know first. They discussed this for a while and decided that the hospital should know, so my Dad took my Mum back to her hospital room, tucked her up in bed and left her.

A small miracle occurred! ::yes::

Well, this morning she drank 1 and a third cups of tea and managed to keep most of it down. Then this evening had a little chicken soup and it's still inside her. No throwing up at all! :)

To say we are thrilled is an understatement. We firmly believe that Dad came to the hospital last night and gave her the strength to eat something today. She was also a lot perkier in herself. Mum has a long, long way to go but this is the first positive step she has made.

Well, there you have it, call us mad but we are so happy as it's the first bit of good news we have had all week! :hyper:

Awwww, what a lovely miracle. :) I truly believe your Dad was your Mom's guardian angel.

I'm so glad things are looking better for your Mum, Belle! :)

What a touching story, your Dad really made his point to your Mum. Glad to hear she is now on the upswing!!!

sounds like your mom is on the road to recovery! I think she was visited by your dad. thats nice. I never used to believe stuff like that but recently Iam starting to believe.

I'm a firm believer in miracles...and how wonderful that you're family has just experienced one!!

So glad to hear that your mum is doing a bit better today! :)

Definately a miracle! My best wishes to your mum Belle. :)

That sounds so encouraging Belle. It sounds like her dream was telling her to get on with life as it is, that it's not over for her yet. :flower3: Hope she is feeling well enough to return home soon.

That's wonderful.

I hope you get a full night's sleep tonight Belle!!!

I remember an elderly aunt of mine was in a nursing home, quite ill, and exhibiting some early to mid signs of Alzheimers. She was telling us all, how she and Jimmy and Rita (my grandparents) had had such a WONDERFUL time last night. They came to see her, smuggled her in a coffee frappe, and they just laughed....

Of course this visit happend 15 years after my grandmother died, and 25 years after my grandfather died.

She did drink a coffee 'Ensure' after it, and was definitely a bit more chipper for a while.

Sounds like a beautiful Miracle to me.

I believe that totally.

When my mom passed, I was in charge of finding the clothes she wanted to be buried in. She had picked out everything. Well she had been at home sick for three months before she died. Dad had moved all her clothes here and there so she could stay in her room.

I found her dress and thought that was it but the undertaker wanted the undergarments as well! There I was searching all over for a bra and panties for her. I looked everywhere and then threw my hands up in the air, yelled at her to help me find her freaking panties. I opened up a drawer and there they were! I told her thank you and she could go back to what she was doing.
