I swear if one more person asks

I don't even comment on those threads, because I just don't know what is appropriate to say. :/

I agree I find it in poor taste. Just because I want to go myself with DH - I have more respect than that. I really get with some people that figure it never hurts..but for me I would be much more less inclined to offer said benefit to a random stranger if it was me with the membership.

It's one of those "cool" things I hope to do someday but has no impact on how much I enjoy Disney and Disneyland and at times it can come off as begging to me which I find really unattractive.

On the other hand I do love hearing the stories of those who have had the chance to go !

Agreed, with exception of said husband for a lack of one. I can understand how it does not hurt to ask, because really one never knows what kindness that might be bestowed upon them, but.... personally if I never have an opportunity to dine "there" I am good with it, because that is not something that I must do in order to enjoy my time at the land, or life, or what have you, besides there is no bayou river to which to dine by or upon there anyway.

I honestly don't get the hoopla. Cool if I go I go, but hey Napa Rose is great too.

...I would love a behind the scenes tour someday though.

So, how much is the bill for one person usually?
Is there more to it than a good meal at a restaurant?

I am getting an invitation soon but I know from past years that the cost will be 85-125 depending on if its a Saturday and my pass doesnt get me in the park. I never went due to the cost for 2 of us and not thinking it was worth it. I never heard much about it at all until getting on this board!

It has been a 3 course dinner before but last year it was a buffet breakfast.

I would "like" this post if it were an option.

It's really cool. If you get the chance, don't decline. They give a tour if you request one as well. :goodvibes We were there Sunday night and got to watch F! (obstructed with no wait though) from the balcony. It was expensive but totally worth it. I'd do it again, if given the chance, in a heartbeat.

I can't wait to try Napa Rose one day. :thumbsup2

F! from the balcony and the tour sounds nice. I am a firm believer that some moments in time can not have a price tag. I did mean a whole DL behind the scenes tour though.

When DD and I were offered the chance I just about cried, I was so shocked and surprised and just thrilled so much that I would be able to take her to the "club" for her 16th birthday. It was very unexpected and will never be forgotten. :) We went on a Sunday for brunch (we went on her actual birthday), we paid $95 each, I got a free glass of champagne. :) We ate until we thought we would pop, we looked around, we went to the bathroom, we took pictures (I want the PotC map that hangs up in there!), we rode the lift up and took the stairs down (did the same at CCTR the next day), it was truly magical and worth every penny. Just for the look on her face when we got in, she did cry. :)

But yes, the constant threads from newbies do get old. lol I usually just say something like "we get these posts all the time, it rarely happens but when it does it is magical, good luck!" Actually, by posting that on one of the many threads I got my invite to the club. :)

While I would love to go but I would never ask here or anywhere else. If I got invited I would say gladly yes, but I have heard it is taboo to ask, so I don't and wouldn't anyway. Go or not go it would never change my opinion of Disneyland. I've lived without it all my life, I guess it won't kill me to live without it for the rest of it.

Oh, and I will clarify too that I would go in an instant if invited, but echoing the others, it's the n00bs who have 1 post that ask for invites that bother me. Honestly, I couldn't even see myself asking anyone, on or off the DIS. But if anyone offered, I'd jump!

My alumni group cannot be the only one that does yearly events at Club 33. If people want to go as a "dream of a lifetime" experience, then they can perhaps find a group or charity they like that also has events there and join it. No begging required.
Of course then, they dont get to choose the date or time.

Actually Dharma you may do just that by clicking on the Face book icon that is on the bottom of all of our posts. That will connect you with FB where you may then select it to share, once sharing the link you may then like it. Honest no bull cookies here. Maybe my next post though. :goodvibes
