I wanted to let everyone know that I walked away from my Disney trip last week BLISTER and PAIN FREE!!! This was my first and only trip ever where this happened. I wore my Skechers Shape Ups along with Therlo socks. I heard about Therlo socks from the DIS boards. They were a thicker-type sock that claims to aid in the prevention of blisters and foot pain.
I think the combination of my socks and shoes were the key to my park success! I just wanted to pass along this information to others who might suffer from blisters and foot pain. I bought my shoes at KOHLS with a 30% off code so it only came to $70. Kohls has that same promotion going on now until the 17th. You also get $10 in Kohls cash for every $50 purchase.

Glad they worked for you..They aren't for everyone though. Those shoes WRECKED my feet. They are not meant for people that are prone to Plantar Fascitis or people that have it.My podiatrist said they are seeing an increase in this since negative heel shoes have become more popular.

I have these shoes, but would be too scared to try and wear them for over a week, all day long at Disney.

I second the socks! I use the Fox River brand and have the hiking, walking and running versions. They worked great in the parks. :thumbsup2

Aren't you only supposed to wear those shoes for a short period of time every day?

I also wanted to mention that the Therlo socks were a bit on the pricey side. I think I paid between $11-13 each pair. I got them from a couple of different online retailers.

I had two complete strangers ask me how I liked my Skecher's in the parks. I told them both that I felt like I was gliding on the concrete......it felt like I was on a mattress. It was cushy and oh-so comfy! I have never had such comfort in a pair of shoes in all my life!

For those of you who spent your hard earned money and they didn't work for you...I am so sad to hear that. It is a pretty big investment to make in hopes that your feet will not be an issue while walking hours on end.

I have FINALLY found the solution to happy feet. Trust me-it took over 10 trips to Disney wearing all different types of shoes before I found the right one!

I used to get blisters on my heels, in between my toes, etc. I would also get these hard lumpy pains on the feet. I couldn't SEE anything, but I could FEEL the pain. I had no idea what this was, but it last the entire trip. I would soak in the tub after the park each night. I would fall asleep at night only to be woken up with some stinging sensations. I even considered seeing a doctor about this since it would happen every trip. It can make a perfectly great trip absolutely miserable.

I really hope everyone on this board can find the right shoe for the parks. One less thing to worry about!

REALLY???:confused3 I have severe plantar fascitis and neg heel shoes have been my saving grace! Shape Ups are wonderful!!!! I feel like I'm getting my life back! My foot problems were so bad they were causing pain in my knee and hip. I am almost completely pain free now in those areas as well. I think I'll head to Kohl's and get a 2nd pair w/ my 20% coupon!!!!:goodvibes:cool1::yay:

Yep.Never had a foot problem in my life, and I started wearing the sketchers in June last year.By August I couldn't even walk, I never made the connection till I went to the Dr.It was the first thing he asked.Maybe it doesn't effect everyone like that, but I did find some info online too about it.I will say it is a shame since they helped my lower back pain tremendously.

I am a nurse and love mine!
they say to break them in a little at a time the u can wear them as long as u wish

One of the nurses at my RE's office wears them. She said they didn't "shape her up" but they are comfy.

I felt it working my lower legs. I didn't know I needed to tone that area, but I guess I did!

I did break my Skechers in slowly starting around Christmas time. I would wear them around the house and sometimes at work.

I'm so glad to hear a positive report for wearing these to the parks. I just bought some today for my DD for her to wear when we go in May. She has knee & back pain so I'm hoping these will work out well for her. She's also got flat feet, so I'm not sure what, if any, effect that will have.

If she starts wearing them in March (I'm giving them to her as a birthday present), do you think she'll have enough time to break them in? It will be about 6 weeks before we leave for our trip.

I had a bout of Plantar Fascitis and these shoes saved me..the only other shoes that worked for me were my Danskos, and I was always turning my ankle in them. I haven't had a flareup since buying mine so I think maybe they just didn't agree with you. I saw an orthopedic surgeon for my problem and he said they were fine. I have high arches though-I know some with PF have flat feet, maybe this was why?

I have a pair for the OR and a pair that I wear at home. Going to get a pair for my next trip..they make a sandal too!

I do have flatter feet..I am a nurse and on them too damn much.I will stick to wearing my tevas in the parks.

That is plenty of time to break them in!

I am planning to buy the Skechers Shape Up sandals for summertime!

I love my Sketcher's Shape Ups! I've had them for about a month now and they are the most comfortable pair of sneakers I have ever worn. I wear them pretty much everywhere. I do have a pair of Sketcher's Tone Up clog style shoes that I like too. You don't feel the roll like you do in the Shape Ups, but they are like wearing slippers during the day.

I'm planning on taking my Shape Ups on the WB TA Magic Cruise this September. I may even try to get another pair until then.

I've worn many types of shoes to Disney. For me, it came down to prepping the feet more than what type of shoe I wore.
Cotton socks and body glide is what keeps my feet feeling fine in Disney.
We logged 30 miles of walking in four park days last trip and not even a hot spot! :)

The key to not getting blisters is to not wear cotton socks. Cotton retains moisture/sweat which leads to blisters.

Wear something that wicks moisture away.

There are plenty of running and cycling socks that you can wear that will help big time.

So, do any of you actually feel shaped-up from your Skechers? I hate to spend that much money just for a comfy shoe. I'm lucky not to have problems with my feet, so really any old pair of sneakers will do. However, if a pair of shoes can tone me up, then I"m interested!
